- This in depth video goes over everything involved with framing a wall, from cutting in your plates, marking out for studs/junctions and a door way, and then I talk through the reasoning on why we do everything certain ways as we build this wall.
You are very good teacher. Keep it going 👍👍👍
Congrats on the 100K subs. Your videos are so satisfying to watch. Every time you give a tip, I say to myself, "yep that makes sense".
Thankyou! That’s awesome to hear!
Congrats on 100k🔨
Thankyou!!
Really enjoyed watching this. Keep them coming
Cheers bro, that was great to watch.. and definetly learned some things too
Great video mate, keen for this series 👌
Great work, Dave. Nice to hear the Aus perspective and no BS fillers. Keep up the good work. 👍
congrats on 100k subs bro!! really good video and great depth of knowledge around framing.
Thanks mate!
This is brilliant Dave, thank you.
This was awesome, so much in this video. Thank you man!
great video, very easy to understand. Thanks Dave
Awesome, very clear video! Definitely would like to see a wall straighting video please
I’ll definitely be making one!
Awesome video, would be good to see a fix out version just like this.
Cheers! I’ll definitely be making one in the future!
Great video. Nice to see junction blocks installed properly . It’s a commonly overlooked detail where only 1 block is installed in the middle.
Or under 200mm
Thought that was standard
@@mohamedhussein7968 from AS1684.2 “minimum 200mm stud size blocks spaced max. 900mm apart”. Even on a 2410 wall junction this isn’t achievable with just 1 block in the middle unless you use a 400 block.
@@jayzee2390 yeah right. Our company just always does 3 top middle bottom. Even if the stud was 2330 long
Nice one mate. This was a great video idea.
this is a great channel, great work
Awesome video mate !!! 👏👏👏
Congrats on 100k subs
Thanks mate!!
Another awesome video Dave. You’re going places mate.

thank you from of the bottom of my heart- an apprentice

Thanks mate! I’m glad you like them!
Sweet reload 14:53 ! 🔥
Congrats mate on 100G's
Thankyou!!
Did plans call for 450 upstair or is that just your standard, can understand on external wall with truss load but would save a fair bit of timber with 600s
Hi mate, can i ask if this acceptable.i have 2440mm FFL to ceiling. 10mm ceiling and 20mm tiles adhesive.can i just use 2.4 stud and 45mm top and bottom place. Just checking so i can save some labour to cut down every stud
Thank mate
What do you double stud your door openings ??
Man if I was to work with you I'd be confused with your marking haha.
How I set out walls are:
For end junctions i mark - X|B|X
For Wall junctions i Mark - X|Wall|X
For 450 centres i Mark - |X
I actually use to set walls out similar to your way. When I started working with another company they did it the way I now do it, and I’ve learnt everyone has slightly different ways to mark out
Is there a reason you don't use a paslode?
I rate paslodes for working on roofs, any battery gun is a lot better for walls, they shoot heaps quicker and you save money on gas (obviously pneumatic guns are the best for wall framing)
I take it that you fix your plaster board horizontal with 450 center layout.
Yes .
If I was marking the studs I’d tap in my Stanley knife to hook the tape on
Need the cheat code for unlimited nails mate 😂
Like # 12 🍻🍻🍻
i like what they call noggings in NZ they call them dwangs
i like to land my studs on top of joists
Not really necessary unless it’s a load point
@@jayzee2390 it’s good practice and it being extra mass has extra load inherent.
@@shanegenx7519 agreed. There are lots of things that are good practice but unfortunately (at least in volume building) they are not practiced. Some chippies struggle to achieve acceptable let alone exceptional. 😆
The bow on the external is because of a 50mm cavity for us plumbers 😂😂😂
The way you centre ur walls u do it the longer way much easier way to do it
