    For the past year I've been going back and forth between the X-195, the Roamer-1, and the Pause. I'm now favoring the Pause, but damn, the X-195/Roamer-1's are still flipping amazing trailers! They all have their own unique qualities that makes them all stand out! Damn you ROA for making choosing a trailer so difficult! lol

    • @bartman1857
      @bartman1857 8 місяців тому

      If you need the insulation and are concerned with weight go X 195 or R1. If not go Pause

    • @bartman1857
      @bartman1857 8 місяців тому

      IMHO I would lean toward the x 195. Mostly do to the roof. Look at the roof set up on this x195. Solar set up is awesome. Such an improvement over the x22 (xr) peel and stick set up. This shows a huge improvement. Two holes for ac and fan. Very clean roof. Then look at The Pause roof. Two massive holes for star gazzer window with one on the down slope. AC, fan and I believe solor bracket mount holes. Then add 2 gallons of dicor pored around each hole. It's an ugly roof.
      IO's (GS Trailer) chassis has two year warranty. Pause in house huck bolt chassis has one year.
      CM suspension is more proven and has to be considerably lighter the moryide. Pause has that brand new moryide hitch coupler on a very short tounge A frame.

      I also looked at the same options and decided the X 19a5 best meets my NEEDS. A lot of the features in the Pause I did not need and many of the features in the X 195 will be upgraded over time. m The 2000 watt inverter is not enough. I do love the induction cook top., but we use several portable appliances to make our kitchen complete. I am waiting for some cool weather to see how the furnace does at -30 ° F.

    Thanks for the update!!! Hope you do this with the whole line up. Some people get lazy. We don’t find out about any new features until somebody else does a review. I even want to know that there has been no change without having to call a company up. Good job!!! I still want the Roamer 1 LOL

    RV`S and Vanlifers need a wall mount daewoo mini washer dryer combo! as well as FOTILE In-Sink Dishwashers!. For full timers, would be nice it was already built in.

    amazing trailer, the only thing missing is an easy awning situation, that also covers the outdoor kitchen. Those folding awnings are very hard to fold and unfold, especially at that height.

    • @ROAOffRoad
      @ROAOffRoad  8 місяців тому +2

      Yes. We agree and that is why we can options for other awnings. 😀 You can order from us with some electrical awnings.

    • @SkylinersYeti
      @SkylinersYeti 8 місяців тому +1

      The awning is a pain in the ass to stow. I fin deploying the awing OK. I am heading to the awning manufacture to get a hands on lesson on how "easy" it is to stow the awing. I have spoken to others with the awning on Vans and they swear by it.

      moon shade

    • @Sonya-hc1mx
      @Sonya-hc1mx 8 місяців тому

      I had an electric motor fail on my awning and while I was driving it deployed ( it just unfurled and collapsed on itself hitting the side of my van) not a fun situation. I replaced it with a manual awning only for resale purposes. Otherwise I'd go with a moon shade. Also, the motors are known to only last roughly 5 years or so at a replacement cost of $500 a pop.

    Love the thoroughness... I have watched several of your long version tours start to finish. Not boring at all and that says a lot. The off road testing is super impressive. I had one thought. Can you set the freezer portion of the refrigerator high enough to just be another refrigerator? I am not big on frozen food and would want the extra capacity for more refrigerator space. I have owned two class A's and always felt the refrigerator space lacking since I was full timing. The only thing I used the freezer for was ice. I am sure i will own another RV at some point. Kind of wide open on the class since each one has it own advantages. Don't think it's going to be another Class A. I was leaning toward an Arctic Fox travel trailer until I saw your four season designs. The way they have ducted hot air to the dump stations and the tanks and plumbing is beyond brilliant and they have tank heaters to boot. Here's a story you could share. It was April 10 and I was staying at a Lodge in Vail. The Coach was parked in nearby Eagle-Vail. Not a particularly cold spot. I had the generator set to auto start when the batteries dropped to 92% with the hydronic heat running continuously. I would leave the bay lights on a that kept them above freezing. Never had a freeze up until this freak weather event. The temperature dropped to 25 below zero in April of all months ! That's the first time the diesel onan failed to auto start and of course the batteries died quickly. That meant no bay heat at all. What a bummer! Catastropic freeze up damage and the entire plumbing system had to be rebuilt. It was 2003 Country Coach Allure 36 foot diesel pusher. Feel free to share that story when you cover the four season design. It's what really sells your product in ski country, big time! Best Regards Dave

      Thanks for the comment and story. That is a bummer. Unfortunately the freezer can’t be a fridge. You would need to do away with the freezer and do two fridges. Thanks for watching and the nice comment.

      @Sonya-hc1mx 8 місяців тому

      an idea....put frozen ice packs in freezer then add your items that need to be refrigerated that aren't requiring a steady cold temp. ie. fruit and veggies.

    Great video for those looking into these. Love mine! Couple things for others looking. Hitch weight will be close to or more likely OVER 1k in a stage 3 or stage 2 with your gear in the front and 'stuff' inside the camper itself. Pulling with a Raptor (I did till I upgraded to a 3/4 ton, you'll be sagging big time even with something like a stage 2 Deaver HD spring set up. 1/2 tons don't like this tongue weight and you'll need to go to a WDH and then with the D045 you'll need a special set up). Just better to pull with a 3/4 ton of your choice. It's hard to find 'real world specs' around actual tow weights / tongue weights so thought I'd try to help. Trailer is a beast and you'll love the conveniences it provides. Quality throughout and ease of function one you start using and learning the systems etc. Well done ROA on breaking it down in the video.

      So I thought Shane said half ton no problem. Your saying tounge weight is 1,500 pounds but Shane said 800 pounds. Your saying 3/4 ton Shane says 1/2 ton. Interesting

    • @spartaforever3636

      @@bartman1857 he's giving you the 'stock brand new, no propane, no 'stuff', off the showroom floor' numbers. This is how manufactures need to measure. They have no idea what you'll put in it, on it or around it. When you stock up two 20lb propane tanks, that alone equals another 74lbs (you see how you almost jump 100 lbs above stock!). Now add anything in the inside, in the front storage box (x2) plus the 'through storage' and you creep up quickly. Most if not all 1/2 ton trucks have a 800lb - 1000 Class IV hitch and above that you'll need a WDH. example the 2024 F-150 has a payload of 2,445 lbs. Sounds good right? BUT that's a 4x2 Standard Cab....make it a platinum, XLT or Lariat, the numbers go down. Add 1000 lb tongue weight, plus stuff in the bed and a partner and kids and you can see you run out quickly. Remember, a Honda Civic can PULL (tow) a semi, it just can't stop it and that 'little sticker' on the inside door jamb is what they'll check (insurance company) if there's an accident. Just not worth it imo and not safe for others on the highway with me. They numbers and examples I gave are real life (CAT Scale and truck examples).

    • @bartman1857
      @bartman1857 8 місяців тому +3

      Man you are being so nice. Shane knows that the x 195 has a very heavy tounge. Even though he never seem to have much gear when they are out making YT videos he has to know that tounge weight is over spec for a half ton. He even implied you could go lower then a half ton if your stage 1. Even with stage one this trailer could easily get to 1,200 pound tounge weight. It's just seems clear to me that telling folks they should go 3/4 ton would hurt sales.

    Thanks for another great vid! Questions: -Is there any warming unit to clear the ice off solar panels for full-timers in the snow? Is there any built in pump to create a positive air pressure in the cabin while pulling? -What about a permanent spot on the roof for a Starlink? Finally, is it possible to install the table from the Pause that is more adaptablke

    • @ROAOffRoad
      @ROAOffRoad  8 місяців тому +2

      There is nothing to heat the snow. Most people use a brush to clean.
      -We can option a positive air pressure system
      -yes we have mounted Star-link on the roof
      -Yes, we can option the table for something else.

    For how expensive they are, I’m surprised they don’t offer wiring for a TV and it’s mounts, and a microwave for us lazy folks who just want to nuke a frozen burrito and not deal with culinary mastery when boon docking. Is there any issue not having a duct over the stove?

    Would it be possible to offer a unit that has the air conditioning unit on the outside somehow that is piped into the inside of the trailer?

    Out of curiosity, what was the perceived benefit of switching from the powered awning they had on the X(R)22 models to this new manual batwing awning? Cause from where I’m sitting, the batwing just looks like a tremendous hassle.

    • @Computerlegacy
      @Computerlegacy 8 місяців тому

      Sound like redundancy if you don’t need something automatic then you might not want it for the long term good point but that’s what i can think of for the switch

    • @ROAOffRoad
      @ROAOffRoad  8 місяців тому +1

      As we covered in this video, the manual awning has less things that can break, it’s more durable and steady in higher winds, and you get more coverage. But there is definitely more setup. We can option an electric awning for those who prefer

      @@bartman1857 It was 20 degree F outside, 30 in trailer. We were lucky and had 30 amp shore power and used the AC function for heat. It was slow to heat the trailer but we survived. Truma support returned my email and will send parts ASAP to an approved service center. I am on the schedule to have the heater repaired 1/24/24. A month delay in the repair will mean two camping trips will need to be canceled. :) I till be on their case for an earlier date to put in the new parts.

    Come on folks this is an off-road trailer. Those electric awings are worthless in the wind and look like mass produced stick and tin trailer set up. There are better built 270 awining s then the ORS like ostrich, Bush or Kinsmen but any of these are better for off grid use then the electric ones.
