Using your thumb and your two fingers to flip it open is what screws up the hinges if you didn’t know!
I absolutely love the restoration on them. Being able to use them again is so great.
Zippo is awesome. I had a similar experience with their repair service.
I sent in two lighters in the past, each packaged separately. It took them over 6 weeks to repair them and they sent them back, both in one package, so that they were banging against each other throughout their travel. They sent them some method which took a long time in postage, many days from Pa to NY. They did an ok but not near perfect repair.
Keep all of your disposable lighters, the flint will fit in your zippo. It will be a bit longer so loosen your set screw and you will have an extended flint
I have one genuine zippo that I bought brand new for myself just for the experience and it’s my favorite. I do however collect zippo type lighters and have fixed several that were just gonna be thrown away by the owner because a lot of people don’t realize how simple zippo repair is.
I have one or more which I should send back to the factory to get them repaired since I purchased them while in the Air Force. That is great that they put the pipe inserts in both lighters for you too and I need the same thing since I smoke a pipe now.
You know if you peel the sticker from the bottom it's just a tab that pulls up

~I smoke only pipes and I have a solid Brass Zippo Pipe Lighter to fire up my tobacco. It's one of my favorite pipe lighters.

They usually leave a piece of adhesive off the other side/bottom of that sticker so it does tear in pieces or difficult to take off...
This is awesome, I’m sending mine off tomorrow. My lighter no longer closes, the case top separated from the hinge after 2 years. Good to know they take good care of their customers. Do they send the old case back if it’s unfixable?
I love brass zippos. They are so cool looking... Question you think zippo will fix a Ronson flip top lighter? They did bye the company...
If each side of the hinge is still secure they replace the pin with a roll pin. Tightens up the action more than a solid pin will.
