Well here it is, the update from my breast reduction that I know so many have been waiting on. Unfortunately, its not a good update. I hope this video helps some of you, and helps you have better questions going into your surgery if you’re doing one. I DO NOT recommend the doctor I went to, nor do I feel they treated me with care post-op and pretty much told me I got the size the doctor wanted for my body (aka not what I wanted).

I just had a reduction on June 1st. 2023. I' am still in the healing process. I went from a 42K to a D or DD I may be. Not sure until the swelling goes down to see the final results. But I feel free!! I was literally a prisoner in my own body. I hope the best for you and wish you the best. I hope you get what you want.💗💗

I’m three days post-op so in the beginning of the healing process. Luckily because my dad is on call for his work this week, I get to sleep in my parents’s bed which is the kind that can move up and down. This makes it easier to get out of bed and sleep propped up. I was a 36DDD and wanted to be as small as my surgeon could make them (A if possible; or B).

Being told that the surgeons did what *they* thought looked best with your curves must have been so insulting. I'm getting angry just thinking about it. This surgery wasn't to make you eye candy for men, it was to make you more comfortable!

That was my fear. I just had a reduction three days ago and mentioned both during the consultation and right before surgery that I wanted to be as small as possible so A/B cup (I know there’s no guarantee on size due to needing enough tissue to keep the nipples alive). My surgeon (male) was in compliance with that.
While I’m overweight and now my tummy protrudes a bit (I’m slowly working in losing weight but with symptoms wanted to get the surgery done. This way I can also do more intense workouts after recovery without needing to double bra and stuff). I also had lost a lot of weight about five years ago and my boobs stayed proportionate so I know that losing weight again wouldn’t make my cup size go down enough.
I’ve never liked being on top and always wished I was small.

You have every right to feel frustrated. When you first started talking that you felt like you were too big still I was thinking a full C or small D. When you said DD or DDD my jaw hit the floor. I know doctors aren't miracle workers but to pay that money, go through the physical and emotional pain/healing and to have results that far off is ridiculous.
I am currently going through the process to see if I want to have this surgery myself so that is how I stumbled onto your journey. I really appreciate all the people on youtube willing to document this journey and being vulnerable with all of us, it means ALOT to people like myself. Sending you virtual hugs and love! xo

Also, why did they keep asking you prior to your surgery what size and shape and then just do what they think looks right on your body? I am have curvy friends that don't have much of a chest. I also have very thin friends that have gotten large implants and their doctors didn't make them smaller than asked just because they are curvy. That is an odd excuse in my personal opion. I am not a medical professional either but is seems odd.

My heart goes out to you, and I sincerely hope that you are able to achieve what you're looking for.
I had a breast reduction done when I was in my twenties. I was a DDD and wanted a B but was told that the best they could do was a C. I hated having large breasts. I know God makes us the way he wants us, and I wasn't trying to ungrateful, but something had to change. The stigma attached to girls/women with large chest is difficult. It's as if the opposite sex feels that somehow it means you're easy. It most certainly does not! It was the first thing people looked at when meeting me and I hated it!
I was self-conscious, nothing fit right, my shoulders and back hurt, and the marks on my shoulders from the straps digging In weren't pleasant either. I wasn't prepared with how to care for them after surgery. Wasn't told about the scares or the pain. However, I'm sure a lot has changed since then. I don't feel that mine were done as well as they could have been, but I'm glad I did it.
Pray on It and God will lead you.

My advice when you find another surgeon would be this,
    1. have them take that fat OUT OF YOUR BOOBS ASAP
    2. Ask them how many GRAMS they would take out, that’s what determines your breast size. My doctor said he’s gonna remove 700-900 grams out and that alone will make me a C cup.
    3. Please reconsider the anchor scar, they can take out way more tissue that way. They will fade very thin over time.
    4. And lastly, I hope this doesn’t come out wrong but those “Instagram famous” plastic surgeons are always going for the Hollywood look. They do what they think looks good and not what WE are asking for.
    5. Also please please make sure your next doctor puts you in a surgical bra after surgery.
    6. Going from a DDD-C is obtainable, don’t let them tell you otherwise. I’m so sorry girl, I know you’re pissed. My surgery is April 21st

I’m finding this video really helpful. I have my surgery in 2 days , I’m currently a 32HH and my surgeon has said that he can’t guarantee a size, but would reduce them considerably. My main goal in this isn’t for cosmetic purposes (I’m not knocking anyone at all) , but it’s medical . My spine , neck & collar bone are being crushed by these huge watermelons I have - so I don’t have a goal size , just to be out of pain (and not have to take 1500mg of codeine every 4 hours) .
I feel for you - it sounds like you were pretty much mis-sold this surgery . I’m not sure if it’s different here in the UK , but we have free healthcare (the nhs) and private healthcare- I’m having this done via private and I feel really informed . I’ve researched the hell out of it all , and my surgeon has been voted the best plastic surgeon in the world by a very prestigious magazine, plus has patients travel from all over the world to have him . Genuinely I feel like I’m in the best hands . I was surprised that they didn’t keep you in hospital after your surgery , as I’ve been told it’s a minimum 1 night stay . Xx

My heart breaks for you. And I totally and utterly understand all the feelings and emotions you have expressed. I had a reduction when I was 23 and I allowed the surgeon to talk me into not being as small as I wanted to be. I wanted to go from an H to a B ... he talked me into a C. Things were OK for a while, then I had some medical issues in my 40s and gained about 50 pounds. I feel like most of it is in my breasts. OK, so not really but that's how I feel. Fast forward to today, I'm 57; have lost most of those 50 pounds (have the last 10 to go for my goal) - and I'm a DDD, on a good day. Headaches, back aches, shoulder pain, etc. I have decided to have another reduction - this time its very different because I will loose my nipple; and while he will "make" me one, it has been a difficult decision. I'm doing it anyway; Aug 4th. My novel here is to thank you for your courage to share your feelings - as the surgical manager is trying to "talk me into" being a C (again). I was considering it; stupidly. After watching your video I am going to insist on going to a small B; a very small B ... so thank you for making this video and sharing the results. THANK YOU

Surgeon told me the exact same thing; he did what he thought fit my body type. I wanted to be much smaller & I couldn't be helped. That was in 2016. Now I'm as large as I was pre-surgery, but with a better shape. My breasts grew back. I'm STILL too big for my liking. I didn't want "boob sweat," and I specifically made that clear. Still & always have had boob sweat which is very uncomfortable! I think I'm too old to have surgery again, so I'm calling it quits. But PLEASE don't YOU stop until you are happy & comfortable. I'm so glad I came across your video. I had the SAME EXACT experience with my surgeon. Almost verbatim. I understand 100% how frustrating it is. I was so unhappy with my results. I was a 38DDD and I wanted a C cup. I ended up with 38DD. WTH!!! I was afraid to express my disappointment and felt intimated to express my concerns. I still had the same back, neck and shoulder pain. The surgeon and I decided that after six months; if I was still dissatisfied with my results, the surgeon would do liposuction to remove some of the fullness from the bottom portion of my breast. I ended up doing a 360 BBL and the liposuction of my breast also done. I'm currently four weeks post-op from that procedure. I have to wait for the "swelling" to go down within 3 months to start to see the results of my breasts. I'm so discouraged. The surgeon explained that there is a possibility that my breast may be uneven, but so far, they look great, except for the swelling. Please give an update.

I’ve read a lot about them growing back especially if you don’t have an extreme diet plan. I’m currently at 34H, I wish I was a 34D like back in middle school. I have read online that everyone has a different genetic amount of dense breast tissue that should not be removed and the only part they’re probably removing for the surgery is the breast tissue that isn’t dense. We all have two different kinds of tissue and basically the dense is responsible for maintaining the shape and the other breast tissue is just fatty from weight gain and weight loss and hormones.

So I’m getting a reduction soon and I decided to look at the good and bad about surgery. I came across this video it made me ANGRY AND SAD FOR HER. This is not right!!!! After paying so much for them I’m sorry they should be PERFECT!!!!!!! they should not be that low, I totally get you…. you wanted what you wanted. You have every right to feel the way you do. They took advantage of you and then tried to bully you into accepting them. I really pray you get what you want eventually. There is Notting worst than waiting for this and being sooooooo disappointed.

I had a reduction and went from about an E to a B and here is the problem: large breasts have a certain width, and you can reduce volume, but you can't reducecwidth the same way. Since my doctor took so much off, what happened is my breasts had the same width, but not the volume. The volume they did have dropped to the bottom, ie bottomed out, and my nipple was up on the flat part. A revision was not able to correct this. I ended up getting implants and had them for 27 years until i got BII from them and had them removed. Now i have my original wide but deflated reduced breasts back, with some improvement from the doctor tucking them diwn a bit. They're not perfect but they're good enough. Plastic surgery is never perfect.

Wow when you showed the 3 pictures side by side there was a huge difference. The looked good/small after surgery even with swelling. The last photo they looked way bigger and in fact one breast was noticeably bigger then the other. It actually looks like they grew back a fair amount. A girl in them UK had a reduction and in a short period of time they grew back with NO weight gain. They say it’s rare but it can happen.

Aww I’m so sorry. That’s so unfortunate to not get the results you wanted. I’m planning on having a reduction but was told a long time ago that I have to get to a very specific weight. That was 18 years ago and I’ve gained a lot of weight since then but have lost quite a bit since being at my heaviest. I was told that I need to be 140 lbs at most. I’m at 218 lbs right now, so it’s discouraging but I’ve changed so many things about with my diet, exercise and lifestyle so I feel like I’ll get there Lord willing. I happened upon your channel by accident but I’m glad as I’m also a Christian so it’s nice to be connected. I should check out your more recent videos to see whether or not you’ve had another surgery. It would suck to have to pay that again. Breast reductions are usually covered here in Canada, especially if it’s effecting physical health like causing back pain, neck pain etc. I would hope they’d do a second one for free when you’re not happy with the first. Thank you for sharing your story. It will help people but I wish it hadn’t happened to you. God Bless!

Thank you for sharing this experience with your audience. I’m 3 weeks post op. From g to what I asked for c. And my doctor barely listens to me in the post op check ins. He keeps going, aren’t you so much happier? Did we take too much, do you want me to put some back in? I asked for a b-c and he kept insisting that b was too small. Even though that’s what I wanted. So I settled on a SMALL c. Now that I’m post op… they look like a D-DD. I’m praying that they’ll go down from the swelling. But he talks as if this is it for me… I went bra shopping and still couldn’t find anything in my size… all this to feel the same way as before? I’m feeling angry and horrified. All that anticipating. All that difficulty for the last 3 weeks. I’m seriously praying. I hope you get the results you want in the end and I’m sorry you’re going through this!

I’m five days post-op and was a G before going into surgery…I’m so worried this is what’s going to happen to me. I know it’s only been a few days, and there’s still swelling that needs to go down, but my surgeon told me she took out approx. 360g from one side, and close to 500g on the other. I had wanted a C cup, but from reading other people’s comments, and doing some research, I don’t think she took out NEARLY enough to get me as small as I wanted. Not only will all the pain (and time off work) be for nothing, but my parents helped me pay for a portion of this, and I’ll feel like all their money will have gone down the drain…I’m PRAYING that I’ll be happy with the results once swelling goes down, and that I won’t be anything bigger than a D (if not a C). I don’t think I’ll say anything if I’m not happy with the results though…I’ll feel terrible😔 I could NEVER afford a second!

I had very similar problems aftet my breast reduction. I was made to feel like I was complaining and worried for no reason. I was told that I'm not dying so things aren't that serious. I was scared, worried, upset, and disappointed. However I was treated like my feelings did not matter. I am now having a second surgery with the same surgeon to have my right breast reduced again and nipple lifted because my right breast looks much different then my left breast 🤦🏽‍♀️. PLUS I have a DENT/ DIMPLE under my left breast that has to be repaired. When I stressed these issues with my surgeon in the beginning. He was so cruel and had no empathy for how I felt. I cried and cried... Now I will have to go through a second surgery to repair what I had been complaining about from the start. I'm praying for great results this time AND I hope I don't lose blood supply to my nipple. I already have no feeling in my right nipple from my first Reduction surgery.😔😭. Pray for me y'all. I voice my opinion the same day I was very flat with not must breast tissue left. I voiced how unhappy I was on my 1 week appointment with my surgeon. I feel embarrassed I have to be a B cup and large lumps under my armpit. I discussed the size with my surgeon he was pretty sure I would be around a D cup after my surgeon and according to my body type having much wider shoulders. I couldn’t stop crying about my results and tried hard not to cry but continue to stress my concerns about my size and fat under both arm pits but more on the left size. My surgeon told me multiple stories after my surgery but before my surgery we spoken agreed on cup size about a D cup but pretty sure a C cup would be to much breast tissue removed for my safety during all three appointments I was expecting what we agreed on and to noticed days after surgery that I was all padding im embarrassed and had hard to accepting these results the surgeon and his nurse telling me how beautiful my breast are and within a year they will settle into the size we agreed on and when I spoke on the phone with my surgeon what really was upsetting my surgeon starting mixing me up with other patients.

you have to wear a supportive medical bra all the time, but I do think one has to wear a bra any type that you wish; just wear some type of support. It's only so they don't sag and consequently stretch the skin; and yes they do sag the skin and in my opinion do make your boobs bigger. I increased two sizes post pandemic. I might of increased my weight too, but that's another story.... I actually read that most breast reduction surgeries need a second surgery after ten years after first surgery. I was actually exactly ten years due after my first surgery I'm not sure if that was the reason I needed a redone.

My friend had a reduction and her insurance paid for some of it. I would be afraid to go to the same doctor, especially if the surgeon has some resentment from seeing your grievance on UA-cam. A good professional doctor would have said, we will redo the surgery for free. I had lipomas removed and the doctor said if we missed any, just come into my office and I'll remove them. Doctors don't always do the surgery the way you requested but instead of wanting to fix things at no cost, some of them are more interested in saving face. That is not a good doctor in my book.

Also the reason why plastic surgeons don't want us discussing prices is because they will ALL try to charge you what they think they can get from us. When they know our profession it's like oh really, ok we can charge her this or more. Just how I was made to feel.

To anyone considering ANY type of cosmetic surgery: interview as many surgeons as you can, and ask them for references of actual patients they have operated on, who got the same surgery you are considering. Then CALL everyone on the list!

The photo right after surgery looks like C's. How can the doctor know how they will progress and look like later, as in your last photo? Is there a way the doctor could have predicted this?

First off sorry for your story I got a reduction. 100 percent covered by insurance. So for 20,000 you should have gotten exactly what you wanted. I’m so happy I had this done.

Thanks so much for sharing!! I'm looking to get it done and will definitely look for a doctor who is upfront with their capabilities and their philosophy - I want medium boobs for my band size, regardless of what they think will look good for my overall body. Fingers crossed for around a C for me... and you!

That’s awful. I had to pay $10,400 out of pocket because my insurance no longer covers a breast reduction even when medically necessary which mine fell under.
I was a 36DDD (or could have been bigger if I went with a 34 band size). My surgeon is male and both during the consultation and right before surgery, which was Thursday, I mentioned wanting to be as small as possible so A cup if possible. I know there would be no guarantee on size (which my surgeon also mentioned), partly because of needing to keep enough tissue to to keep the nipples alive. My surgeon was fine complying with trying to get me to an A/B cup. I’m not sure which it came out/is going to come out to as the months go by so we’ll see. I’ve never liked being large on top and want to be able to eventually wear tops and dresses out without needing a bra or being able to wear a strapless bra. And not having to double up on bras for intense workouts, etc.
My surgeon never mentioned about trying to match my curves which is good (I think I’m a Pear shape?…I’ve never been good at figuring it out). I do have some more weight to lose.
I’m sorry for what you went through and that you didn’t get the results you wanted. I hope you’re able to get a revision that makes you feel better.
I went with a surgeon through my hospital network.

Props to you for not bad mouthing but I’m sooo tired of these doctors getting away with this stuff. They have hero complexes and are so arrogant and entitled and insensitive I’m so over it. It’s so funny how also my doc told me it’s gonna take me a week to heal (he’s a man) and that I’ll be back at work by then. I’m a server for a steakhouse with heavy plates and and he knows that. So upsetting it’s funny

I completely understand wanting them smaller. My preferred size is 2 sizes smaller than most surgeons would want to give me. But I'll be arguing that the less breast skin I have, the better off I am as a diabetic w a history of skin ulcers.
As for the cost, I'm Australianso I'll get some money back from Medicare, our universal health system.

Your beautiful, but Most videos i've seen from your blogs i've noticed you have no compression bra on or any form of support. Ive had a breast reduction and i love mine so much, that being said, i was constantly in a surgery bra as skin naturally stretches. In my opinion one really needs to really take care of (their girls) and watch our weight and make sure they are constantly supported in the chest ect. Taking care of your our new chest is very important part of a breast reduction and i believe it makes a massive difference. The surgeon can unfortunately only do so much and we have to keep them maintained, I hope you find a surgeon who can get you to your desired size. You are beautiful with whatever size. Thanks for the video.

What size are you now? Wanting to be a c is really understandable. I had a D and I am now a B. I would have liked to be an A. It is better to measure your size because cups are not accurate enough. I told my surgeon please make them as small as possible not even mentioning the cup size. If that surgeon does not know what a size c is, you are in trouble. I can’t tell you what this doc was doing. Cup sizes are inaccurate

    1. You DO look gorgeous. It’s been 8 months from your surgery till now, don’t know where you are in your journey.
    2. Fat implants can move.
    3. You were NOT instructed NEARLY WELL ENOUGH as to how the Dr figured out how to size your breasts
For smaller breasts on you you might have to have a smaller rib cage than you do.
They just didn’t give you enough information
    I’m a retired RN.
    You DO look gorgeous.
Dr Terry Dubrow used to be in Beverly Hills or Orange County
    BUT
    I would leave you alone.

How can it not be achievavle? They can make you any size you requeest, all the way down to nearly flat- the screwed up bottom line and wont own up to it. What a debacle. Sorry you have to go through this Alexis!

    • @nicolejanssens2165
      @nicolejanssens2165 Рік тому

hi not true depends on your tissue density blood supply so you don't lose your nipples. That's why sometimes they can't take you all the way down to very flat. Usually 3-4 cup sizes down is safe. If you were very big to begin with and want to be flat flat you would need to do a full masectomy then breast reconstruction
      .
