Hi hey hello, just thought I’d address this because I got a handful of comments. When I said I stopped taking everything they gave me a day after I got home, what I mean is all the painkillers. In fact I didn’t get sent home with ANY antibiotics at all but if you do, obviously don’t stop taking those as they are there to fight infections. I stopped taking my painkillers because the side effects were worse than the amount of pain they were relieving. That’s all! 🤗

Silicone implants are mostly a fad in my opinion and a result of widespread confusion and ignorance of breast anatomy. By that, I mean three things: 1. Breast fat. -- Breasts are made up of mostly fat. You'll get people who tell you this in response: "Well that's not true, skinny/fit women can have large breasts naturally." But it pegs me wrong when people say this, since such an occurence is very rare and pretending as though this is common spreads a potentially harmful cultural ideal that rarely exists in nature. -- Which is why fit women with flat stomachs almost always have small breasts (also potentially why so many fitness gurus get silicone implants and ruin their breasts this way). The average breast size has increased from an A/B to a C in the west, mainly due to obesity, not a rise in good health. If anything, a smaller breast size is often a symbol of youth and good health. Which brings me to the next contributor to this confusion: 2. Bras. -- Bras have actually created a false standard of what breasts should look like (perfectly round and squeezing together). Also, what many small breasted women don't realize is that bras on larger breasted women fake (yes, fake!) qualities of small breasts: those being lift, firmness, and high sensitivity. 3. Hourglass is mostly a false ideal. -- So why would small breasts be a symbol of poor health if they're universally just as desirable as any other breast size? That's because they're not. They produce milk just as well as larger breast sizes. Bringing me to this third point of mine: healthy fat distribution in women aims downstairs, aka butt and thighs. The breasts aren't nearly as important. The pearish shape is the complete opposite of the triangle, making it just as feminine as the hourglass, and achievable with exercise. -- Breasts aren't a sign of fertility anywhere near as much as hip to waist ratio is, yet people continue to spread the myth that massive breasts are the main sign. There have been different studies with evidence showing this, implying that fascination with large breasts and disdain for smaller ones is mostly a cultural ideal and not based on biology, whereas hip to waist ratio is the nunber 1 universal sign of fertility. Sorry for the novel but I learned more about breast anatomy when I learned how to draw anatomy. It opened my eyes. This may sound silly to be this dramatic over boobs, however, it is all important to mention since breast implant surgery is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures to date, often monstrous expenses literally and figuratively, packaged with health concerns and an actual false ideal of beauty. Also, feel free to copy and paste this so that people can see and have the chance to reconsider ruining their breasts with implants. I had it done in December 2014. The first 3 days were very tough, but this is hands down the BEST thing I have ever done. I went from a HH to a DD. The true key is finding THE surgeon for you. This process took me a while but when I found the right one, I knew right away she was the ONE. I have had to have a lot of different surgeries in the last few years and I have found that I have received more thorough and compassionate care from female surgeons. I would definitely say if you are consistently unhappy with your size, go for it!

Big boobs are praised in our society but we need to remember that it might be a beauty standard but it might not always be the best or our body. Thank you for sharing lights on the downsides of having big breast and sharing your story. I understand more even thought I really can't relate. The easiest way I learned to love my small breast is by being thankfull for the convience it gives in my life. I never have to ''worry'' about them you know. In my apartment we have a print of all different size and shape of boobs in drawing and it's a conversation starter for sure.

I got 2 breast reduction surgeries and never found a video showing the whole process so explicitly which made me feel like crap because I thought my scars were super marked, but seeing this makes me so much better about my boobs and scars since I’m not the only one. Thank you for this ❤️

If you have insurance, if you're over a certain size compared to the rest of your body weight, the procedure is deemed medically necessary and thus free. I live by San Francisco, California and 5 years ago I was able to get my breast reduction fully covered by state insurance! I would do it again gleefully, absolutely no regrets!! It was and to this day is very freeing to not have such a large chest get in the way of running! A good way to start though is to start having doctor checkups once every few months bringing up your back and other pains over and over.

As a nurse and friend to many surgeons, post-surgery antibiotics are SOOO important. Your body is vulnerable to infections and post surgical infections can show up weeks to months later. Therefore taking the prescribed dose and the ENTIRE course is very important. Side effects are of course possible, but sharing these with your Dr. are important as well! But consider this: side effects for now, or nasty infection later... which will require, you guessed it, antibiotics and possible hospitalization. On the other hand taking pain medication is COMPLETELY relative to the individual and taking less than ordered is usually not a problem (unless you are unable to walk/function at a reasonable level). And many people do not enjoy the effects of some pain meds (nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, lethargy, and just feeling crumm)!! So kudos to you for taking it down!!! I still plead you and everyone to take and complete the course of antibiotics as ordered! I am not trying to criticize, but just want to help all people and patients be as safe as possible and comfortable as well!
Hey girl! I hope this clears it up a bit - I never received any anti biotics! They only sent me home with painkillers just a bunch of em, that’s why I stopped them x

@@vjlove1218 depends on the surgery/surgeon. Sometimes you get some before surgery/during hospital stay/after at home. I just heard antibiotics and wanted to make sure she/others knew the importance of taking the full course correctly!

congratulations! i’m so happy for you, getting a reduction was the best thing i ever did! i started puberty when i was about 9, and my breasts were a D by the time i was 12. honestly it affected my mental health and self-confidence so much from a young age, not to mention the impact on my body. not sure if it’s available in the UK but when i got mine done 5 years ago (in australia) my surgeon gave me a silicone product to put on my scars. at the time it wasn’t available to purchase over the counter i think but now it is. so if you’re not sensitive to silicone i definitely recommend trying out a silicone scar cream ❤️
a. This is a really good suggestion. When I heard her saying she was using bio oil, I wanted to leave a comment suggesting the silicone strips. The doctors agree that bio oil does not help and in fact can even hurt your skin. It’s just not good for scars. She should talk to her surgeon a little bit more about this. Because she’s young and healthy her scars will probably fade beautifully and heal on their own anyways. 🤗🤓

Im 16 and something i want more than anything right now is a breast reduction because it causes me to have some pain and a lot of emotional stuff to go on. To me, i feel like im not pretty with the body i have because theyre so big and i can never wear the clothes i really want to wear, i just end up wearing a plain t shirt and pants. But, since im only 16, im always getting told my boobs haven't fully grown and im too immature to even think of wanting one and after watching this video and reading the comments it makes me feel so much better because i know im not alone and not the only one going through what im going through. I almost shed tears during this because I am SO HAPPY for you!! I have struggled for years with my boobs as well, I was a DDD at 18 and now at 20 I am an E cup. I’m about your size as well 5’4 with a very small, petite frame. I struggle with clothing and my self confidence is very low because of my breast size, my back hurts so bad and exercise has always been so hard, especially as an athlete during my younger years. I had Double DD's in 9th grade in high school. I tried not to be awkward, but as a 13 year old girl starting high school, it's hard not being able to dress like the other girls and not fit in because they are all staring at them and judge you. Now, I am 46 years old and have chronic pain, nerve damage in my neck and so many other painful issues. I hope this works out for me too.
28:19 I had mine last year at 62 & went from 38DD/38DDD to 36D. I'm also short with a medium frame (carrying some extra weight), but was having back aches, nerve pain, skin issues & trouble finding clothes & bras that fit. When I went to my consultation, my doctor & nurse asked how long I was thinking about a reduction. When I said 50 years, they didn't even bat an eye! I healed well with very little discomfort, my back is better & my nerve pain in my wrists & hands is all gone. Only wish I did this sooner!

How’d it go? I didn’t get any boobs until 8th grade and they grew to like a c cup all at once. Then by sophomore year they were a d and my junior year I was a DD or E. I’m now a freshman in college and they’re a G lol. I’m supposed to have them down to a b or by end of May
A Tangerine I’m not sure. When I talked to my doctor they said I couldn’t schedule until May because of the virus, but I’m not sure how that works if you’ve already scheduled it during April. Where I live, we’re on lockdown but you can still go to doctors appointments.
I had no clue just how big your chest was before but knew you wanted this surgery, I’m glad it went well and I’m glad your confidence can be boosted and you can talk about this because I know you were just so uncomfortable in your body and I can see from the before and afters that you really did look uncomfortably large for the small human you are! GinsMakeup I had the same problem when I had my wisdom teeth out. The painkillers gave me way more nausea than they hid the pain.

If you have insurance, if you're over a certain size compared to the rest of your body weight, the procedure is deemed medically necessary and thus free. I live by San Francisco, California and 5 years ago I was able to get my breast reduction fully covered by state insurance! I would do it again gleefully, absolutely no regrets!! It was and to this day is very freeing to not have such a large chest get in the way of running! A good way to start though is to start having doctor checkups once every few months bringing up your back and other pains over and over.

just got surgery this morning! feeling so much lighter and better already, couldn’t dream of anything better, now on to the recovery!
As a nurse and friend to many surgeons, post-surgery antibiotics are SOOO important. Your body is vulnerable to infections and post surgical infections can show up weeks to months later. Therefore taking the prescribed dose and the ENTIRE course is very important. Side effects are of course possible, but sharing these with your Dr. are important as well! But consider this: side effects for now, or nasty infection later... which will require, you guessed it, antibiotics and possible hospitalization.
On the other hand taking pain medication is COMPLETELY relative to the individual and taking less than ordered is usually not a problem (unless you are unable to walk/function at a reasonable level). And many people do not enjoy the effects of some pain meds (nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, lethargy, and just feeling crumm)!! So kudos to you for taking it down!!!
I still plead you and everyone to take and complete the course of antibiotics as ordered!
I am not trying to criticize, but just want to help all people and patients be as safe as possible and comfortable as well!
On a separate note, congrats on the success of your surgery!
Hey girl! I hope this clears it up a bit - I never received any anti biotics! They only sent me home with painkillers just a bunch of em, that’s why I stopped them x

@@vjlove1218 depends on the surgery/surgeon. Sometimes you get some before surgery/during hospital stay/after at home. I just heard antibiotics and wanted to make sure she/others knew the importance of taking the full course correctly!

congratulations! i’m so happy for you, getting a reduction was the best thing i ever did! i started puberty when i was about 9, and my breasts were a D by the time i was 12. honestly it affected my mental health and self-confidence so much from a young age, not to mention the impact on my body.
not sure if it’s available in the UK but when i got mine done 5 years ago (in australia) my surgeon gave me a silicone product to put on my scars. at the time it wasn’t available to purchase over the counter i think but now it is. so if you’re not sensitive to silicone i definitely recommend trying out a silicone scar cream ❤️
a. This is a really good suggestion. When I heard her saying she was using bio oil, I wanted to leave a comment suggesting the silicone strips. The doctors agree that bio oil does not help and in fact can even hurt your skin. It’s just not good for scars. She should talk to her surgeon a little bit more about this. Because she’s young and healthy her scars will probably fade beautifully and heal on their own anyways. 🤗🤓
My friend was given the same silicone strips after her redaction, and she said it helped so much with the scaring.

Im 16 and something i want more than anything right now is a breast reduction because it causes me to have some pain and a lot of emotional stuff to go on. To me, i feel like im not pretty with the body i have because theyre so big and i can never wear the clothes i really want to wear, i just end up wearing a plain t shirt and pants. But, since im only 16, im always getting told my boobs haven't fully grown and im too immature to even think of wanting one and after watching this video and reading the comments it makes me feel so much better because i know im not alone and not the only one going through what im going through. I had Double DD's in 9th grade in high school. I tried not to be awkward, but as a 13 year old girl starting high school, it's hard not being able to dress like the other girls and not fit in because they are all staring at them and judge you. Now, I am 46 years old and have chronic pain, nerve damage in my neck and so many other painful issues. I hope this works out for me too.
28:19 I had mine last year at 62 & went from 38DD/38DDD to 36D. I'm also short with a medium frame (carrying some extra weight), but was having back aches, nerve pain, skin issues & trouble finding clothes & bras that fit. When I went to my consultation, my doctor & nurse asked how long I was thinking about a reduction. When I said 50 years, they didn't even bat an eye! I healed well with very little discomfort, my back is better & my nerve pain in my wrists & hands is all gone. Only wish I did this sooner!
This is the strangest coincidence. A couple of minutes before you posted this video, I asked my husband (after thinking about it for years) if he thinks breast reduction surgery would be covered by his insurance. I can’t wait to watch this, and see your experience. Thanks for sharing! 💕

How’d it go? I didn’t get any boobs until 8th grade and they grew to like a c cup all at once. Then by sophomore year they were a d and my junior year I was a DD or E. I’m now a freshman in college and they’re a G lol. I’m supposed to have them down to a b or by end of May
A Tangerine I’m not sure. When I talked to my doctor they said I couldn’t schedule until May because of the virus, but I’m not sure how that works if you’ve already scheduled it during April. Where I live, we’re on lockdown but you can still go to doctors appointments.
I had no clue just how big your chest was before but knew you wanted this surgery, I’m glad it went well and I’m glad your confidence can be boosted and you can talk about this because I know you were just so uncomfortable in your body and I can see from the before and afters that you really did look uncomfortably large for the small human you are!
