      @@commentstella9950 you know what, it wasn't! My surgeon said to me before they surgery that I should not worry because breast reduction is not a painful surgery. And she was right. In Portugal we need to stay in the hospital for 3/4 days so that we can rest and have help after surgery, which was great by the way, specially because I had drains. But we only take very light painkillers because honestly we don't need much. The thing I think it's the most uncomfortable is the itching as the area starts to healing. The scars are very sensitive as well so sometimes is a little bit sore. But overall, best decision ever. I'm truly happy

    Hi
    I've been thinking of getting a breast reduction for a little while and I've been researching surgeons. I was wondering which type of incision do you do? I've heard the anchor one usually leaves more scarring.

    • @2breastsurgeons215
      @2breastsurgeons215  4 роки тому +4

      Thank you for your question! The type of incision often depends on the size of your breasts before surgery. The most common incision is the anchor you mentioned. Sometimes, a lollipop incision is also possible. The lollipop goes around the areola and then straight down at six o’clock. I hope this helps!

    I just had one last Monday and it was a huge change for me. I was from a DD to a C the surgeon said I should be about 6 weeks fully heal. I do have one slight complication that my nipples were restitched and my right side has a wound. but overall my surgery is overall good. The healing process is going to take me a while until I feel back to normal or myself again.

    I have consultant appointment in July 19th, I really hope they say yes to the surgery because I am in pain. When i lay down they move up to my neck and i can breathe, they are in my face. I have shoulder, back and neck pain, my posture is all messed up from it. i was 260 lbs, and I am now 200 lbs. i lost so much weight and it still hurts. I hope i can qualify. If i wear a proper bra (if i can even find it in my size) i feel like im being choked, and its tight and it hurts from all the weight
    Update: they said i just need to lose 10 more lbs, and i can get the surgery!

      While I’m not sure what size I ended up as I’m only six days post-op and it can take several months for the swelling to fully go away, I was a 36DDD and wanted to go down as small as possible so A cup if my surgeon could do it (B would be fine too). Unfortunately they can’t guarantee a specific size as in order to avoid needing a free nipple graft, there does need to be enough tissue remaining to keep the nipples alive.

    I am 32 yo, no kids but planning to have one before 35. Always had big breast (75E/F) and as I. Am identical to my mom I know that during the pregnancy it will grow so much more. That is my fear. As I know that the bigger the size the less chance to have aesthetic small results, but on the other hand if I cut it now till B/C cup, will it grow back and get saggy as preop?

      It depends. If you can get insurance coverage, then your insurance will likely want you to be at least under 30 bmi.
      While being at an ideal weight beforehand is preferred, you don’t need to be. I’m 174 lbs and had mine done (bmi of 29 currently).
      Just remember that gaining or losing weight after surgery can affect the results. I wanted to go as small as possible as I do want to lose some more weight.

      I got mine done 5 days ago so maybe I can help with some of the information i’ve learned. My surgeon told me that most people can go back to work within a week as long as you’re not on your feet all day. for me personally I work with 2-3 year olds so I can’t go back for about 4 weeks because of lifting and being on my feet all day. you won’t be fully healed for about six months but in about six weeks you’ll start to feel more normal again. At day five i’m feeling great and i’m walking around fine but you just feel a little uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend working out until atleast 6 weeks after so you don’t mess up the incisions and the way they heal. I wish you the best of luck on this journey! make sure you take care of your mental health also because it’s a huge change and can be very emotional.

      @@alanaapolito4543Hmmm, I work in retail in checkout/bookkeeping and initially put off from work for two weeks. I wonder if my surgeon will let me go back after that or make me wait longer as I usually am on my feet all day. Or I could possibly do half-shifts for a couple of weeks (four hours a day instead of eight). I’ll find out soon.

      There are several ways to improve your situation. First: strengthen your back muscles by exercising. Second: try to lose breast weight by targeted exercises. Third: surgery; my less favorite because they may come out looking unnatural, and when you have a childwish, it is possible that you won’t be able to breastfeed

    I am having a reduction done 10/5. I am 65 and have waited until I was ready, ( Kid’s out of college, and weddings done), plus had the extra cash to spend since my doc does not take insurance for breast reductions only for Cancer patients after mastectomies. I am currently 5’9” and a DD and depending on bra DDD, and I want a C cup like before kids. I am worried about not being small enough, and I know my doctor will go with what he thinks, but I would rather be a small C vrs an overflowing large since once healing and swelling is gone I have heard from many women they wished they were a little bit smaller. Please advise, and thank you.

    Back to the breastfeeding question! I am a mom of one. I breastfed my child until they were 10 months or so. I loved it! During breastfeeding, my breast got huge. I went from a DDD to an F.. so im going in to have this done.. however, my question is. Since one of the risks is sensitivity to the nipple and possibly less milk supple when breastfeeding, would you be able to even fed at all? Or even feel your baby is latched on?
