    I find it funny how some people say he was a flop at Barca, and how that was the worst spell of his career. I mean, if 16 goals in 29 league games (22 goals in 46 games overall) and winning a La Liga title, a FIFA Club World Cup, 2 Supercopa de Espanas and a UEFA super cup is a player's "worst spell of his career" that just goes to show you how extraordinary a player he's been.

      he was not rated as highly because he has never won the UCL, thus leading him not getting the Ballon D'or. He is under apprecuated because he played for Sweden, where he carried his country to be as competent as others just like he is carrying United now. He will be more appreciated once he is retired.

    • @Zauchi
      @Zauchi 7 років тому +6

      personally I think he got criticised quite a bit in his early days but that was because there were better strikers still around and also better defenders... in the later years those strikers and defenders retired and the defenders today are not as good as the defenders before... and also the game is more attack minded then before.

    • @abuhassan8849
      @abuhassan8849 7 років тому +3

      As a Sweden, I can tell you that Zlatan was never really underappreciated that much as you make it pout. He's already proven as a great striker who has been one of the reason why his former teams won league titles.
      Eh... Not winning the Champions League isn't exactly the reason why Zlatan was critcized for. There's many, MANY top player who never won CL and are still rated as ATG (all time great). His 10 CL-goals in knock-out stages and not delivering often in knock-out stage is nothing short by abysmal, for someone who's regarded as WC player despite playing in CL-tournament for 13-14 years in streak while being end point for great clubs.
      Zlatan underperformed for Sweden for a very long time when we had Lagerbäck in charge and when Hamrén was appointed, he changed the system in order for us to accommodate Zlatan. Zlatan significally proved his stats for NT and ended up as Sweden's best goal scorer in all time. But at the same time, Sweden's FIFA-ranking became worse than ever and Zlatan/Hamrén are the reason I think.

    • @JuraKez
      @JuraKez 4 роки тому +6

      @Mario Lisa he got more goals in the cl also and more goals for his country. Zlatan in his prime is faster stronger. Got more technique. Better scoring ability. More dribble strength. Better play making. Header. He did it in EVERY league. There's no way round. World cup and CL are cup competitions where it's about your daily form. If you got 14 league titles over 38 games a season than it's no luck. He was the best player in every team he played. Most of his teams didn't collect titles until he came.

      Tottenham has consistently pested chelsea this season while failed to qualify in the same group with Monaco. Then getting kick out of Europa by little Gent. Liverpool was arguably on much better form last April, May while they was beaten by Sevilla, who is considered in the same squad strength bracket. Man Utd has lot of inconsistency in their form. Their best player on the pitch, Mata never shine in big stage. No real CL winner in their squad. Mou is one of the best manager in the world, but has never taken any PL side to CL final. What make MU exception? Hence, I terminate your argument. The falling of PL in European are real. If they don't apply some change to their league, it will continue. We will end up with so called "big club" with lot of money but can't compete in international stage.

    • @tosei91
      @tosei91 7 років тому +2

      I think that the fact that English sides produce much less talented players/develop their own talent and just buy big foreign players is also a big part of it. If you look at the last CL winning English clubs they have all had core English/Brittish players in them for example the CL winning Chelsea side had 4 English players in their starting 11 in the Final. If you look at the top super clubs in the world at the moment like Real,Barca,Bayern and Juve, they all have a decent amount of players produced by their own countries youth academies mixed with foreign star/superstar players. Belgium was pretty medicore football country 10-15 years ago but they invested heavily in to their youth systems and now they have produced players like Hazard,Mertens,Lukaku.
      Also the top English clubs would need some new players to compete with the big clubs cos let's face it only handful of the top 6 English clubs starting players would be good enough to play for the Real and Barcas starting line up for example. The top English clubs have great star players but most of them lack superstar players.

    There's a big reason a bulk of Zlatan's goals came after he was 30 and that's Ligue 1. Paris completely dominated Ligue 1 in the time he was there and that explains why most of his goals came after his 30th birthday, it's not because he's gotten better with age. Wanna talk about someone who's legit gotten better in every way since he turned 30, look at Aduriz, he actually seems faster at 36 than he did at 28.

    • @pphyjynx8217

      Harder league than what?? Than Serie A in the 2000s, You wanna talk of the hardest league for a goalscorer, look no further than Serie A in the 2000s and that's where Zlatan played for most of his "peak" years. I'm not saying he aint a special player, he is, what he's doing is absolutely astronomical but he's been a great player his entire career, it's just taken the English media this long to finally admit it.

    Not mentioning Mourinho is biased. Mourinho was the reason why Zlatan came to Man United, after coaching him in Inter. Ibra noticeably stated that he could/would kill for Mourinho.

    Good video and I get that it's a brief history but you could've gone into Zlatan's behaviour a bit more.

    A brilliant player, if we don't manage to acquire champions league this season he will surely leave and I would have no problem with him doing that. He has to be there.

    I think the reason why zlatan gets so under-rated is becuase of their journey-man status, if he could of stayed at Inter he could of definetly carved out a better legacy
