They are designed to slow the car down as safely as possible! I’ve seen NHRA pro modified hit the traps in Bristol at 120 and aside from almost running out of trap it safely stopped the car!

When chutes ripped off it pulls the car sideways he didn't roll it on purpose
@@Hammerhead1031 He was going plenty straight. Looks like the rear end started hopping for whatever reason, then he braked and that was the end of it.
