Thanks Gustav. Cheers mate !
Thank you for your kind words Kevin, I sincerely appreciate it brother!
I absolutely love your channel. Thanks to your other video I was able to install my risers with no problem. Now I'm waiting on my batwing and will use your video to install. THANK YOU!!
Thank you so much for your kind words PG, your kind words makes all worth it! I'm very happy that the video was helpful while installing the risers, hopefully the batwing install video will be helpful too! Thank you again PG!
Thanks for the review. My batwing is on backorder, I didn't know what to expect, so thanks.
Thank you! everything seems to be on back order..... my original batwing is still on backorder since April..... i was lucky to find one at a dealership in Florida, someone had cancelled their order
Thanks for this Gustav, really helps us make informed decisions
Thank you Jimmy!!!! I'm glad you found it helpful brother!
Great, concise video of the virtues of both items. I personally like the Honda Batwing.
Thank you! I love the look of the batwing, it is so different than everything else out there, unique!
It looks so cool, thanks for your very informative vids.
I'm so happy to hear that you like it, I love the batwing brother!
I also watch Burch; you have great content! Nice to find more local riders! I love the look of the batwing with risers.v
Thank you! 🙏 Burch is da man! Can't wait for the next meetup! 👌
Excellent and informative video
Thank you Firooz! 👍
Great video
Thank you Joseph! 🙏
Thank You....another good video & a big help!
I'm glad you found it Helpful Anthony, I had soooooo many questions about the batwing before getting it, so this video was done to answer the questions I had, hoping it would help someone while making a decision! Thank you brother! 🤙
glad 2 geniuses you and @quasimotard found each other… great vid
I am Quazi's biggest fan! He is an inspiration TK, what an honor it was to meet him, rumor has it that he wrote 2 volumes of encyclopedia Britannica!!!
Looks very cool. I would love a batwing
Thank you Mike!!!!!!!! it looks better in person!
@@ontherebel11 I bet it does. The next tide hopefully will be in Tennessee and I'll be able to see it
Great video! Thinking of getting a Rebel myself, also with the Batwing.
I really did enjoy the part were you showed were the wind would hit your helmet. I was wondering though how tall are you (if I may ask).
Keep up the cool vids!
Thank you Edward! I'm 5'7 brother! 👍
Very cool. I'm ordering my bat wing soon I think.
Thank you Andre! I really like the look of it, in person it is much smaller than what it appears like in pictures.
Muchas Gracias. Excelente video.
I'm very happy that you found it helpful brother! 🤙
I installed my batwing last week and rode 350 miles from Prescott AZ to San Diego CA. The batwing did it’s job of taking the wind blast from my chest but I did feel a little wind on my helmet, riding at 70-75 mph. I’m 5’4” and 130 lbs. I’ll try using the clip on visor. Unfortunately, when I got to my destination, I found a crack on the batwing fairing (left side, on one of the bolt). Not sure if it’s stress from the strong winds along highway 95 (Quartzsite area). So, pls recheck all bolts post first long ride.
Oh no! thank you for sharing that, i will definitely be looking at it! Please join the facebook group if you haven't already Honda rebel 1100 world.
Great video. I can’t imagine what people were thinking when you were riding down the road with the orange string hahaha. I think my next upgrade is the the seat as that’s my biggest discomfort now, and then pick this up. I don’t have a screen at the moment and it’s horrible. Btw does the clip on interfere with your line of sight? Or was that the camera angle?
It's good to hear from you brother! That's what i wonder as well LMAO, i wish i could see the looks on their faces hahaha. Yes sir, that seat sure is uncomfortable.... so is riding without a screen, hence why i put on the PUIG screen until the batwing came in, an eye sore for sure but it sure made riding on the highway more comfortable. I realized after watching the video that i forgot to mention line of sight with the clip on visor, it is well below the line of sight and i'm 5'7", the camera mounted at chin level distorts the first person view... thank you for bringing it up!
@@ontherebel11 I still have your recommendations saved on my phone in the windows tab of saddle cases. I want some so bad but I really need to be more comfortable and get the wind off me. Especially in East TN where’s it’s getting colder. Glad your still on here making the videos. Always helpful
@@SONofLIBERTY I had the chance to see the Urban ABS bags in person recently, they look awesome in person tbh!!!! Thank you for the encouragement brother!!!!
Great video. Regarding the 4 inch risers…did you need to extend the cables/harness? I want to allow the handlebar to move further back to have my seating position more upright. Thanks again for the video.
Thank you Jeffrey! You don't need any extensions, but you have to reroute the front brake line and the parking brake line / clutch cable. If you have the batwing, I have an installation video that goes over the wires. Bringing back the bars makes a huge difference in comfort! Highly recommended!
thx for this video! I am thinking about this bike but not sure do I need some more adv (cb500x) or touring bike like this.
Sure thing brother! I was in the same boat as you, I even rented a cb500x for a day among other bikes, also, I just got back from test riding a scout bobber as I was torn between the rebel and the bobber, I'm so happy that I went with the rebel, I am in love with this bike, nothing compares to it in its segment! The riding experience is better than any other to be completely honest!
Hello and thank you for posting this review. Very informative. Can I please ask what have you done about the whistling sound after installing the batwing? Mine seems to whistle at 60 miles an hour. Thank you Jim
Hi Jim! Thank you for your kind words brother! Here's the thing, during filming the review i didn't notice the whistling, but after watching the video i heard it, and a few people on the facebook group pointed out that they heard it on the video. When i went for a solo ride the other day, i heard it even though i had ear plugs in...... i think it will end up annoying me at some point so i do need to address it. The guys on the facebook group reported that they resolved the issue by putting weather stripping around the opening, i need to find that post and get more details as i'm not sure if it is the gap between the screen and the batwing or the actual vent itself.
@@ontherebel11 Hey Mate,
I heard it was the actual vent and they suggested to apply that stripping on the bottom inside of the vent. I haven’t tried it yet tho?
Thank you again.
Jim
@@jimdegiorgio5173 Thank you for sharing Jim, i will have to try it out!
Hi I hope you're fine.
decidedly we made the same choices. I also ordered the batwing, and precisely, I was wondering if with the handlebars higher it could fit without problem ...
I see that yes, it is really Top.
with this accessory the motorcycle is even more beautiful.
keep making great videos for us.
Goodbye
Thank you Ken, i really appreciate your kind words! yes, i love the look of the bike with the batwing on! I'm so happy that it works with the risers, i was so worried that i won't be able to make it work!!!
Thanks for the review. I was not sure about how effective this OEM shield would be because the screen seems really small. However the almost 1000$ (in canada) asking price is a bit too much for me. I will wait for the TrexRacing shield which seems to cover a lot more and is probabaly much easier to install.
Thank you Dan!!! Yes, it is both pricey and a pain to install! And you are right that other screens might be more effective and easier to install, i suppose it's an aesthetic decision for me, but in all honesty i didn't think it would be any good at deflecting the wind as i thought it is tiny, I'm glad it actually did perform well! I'm certain that in the future there will be larger screens that will be available for the batwing.
@@mrtisal the demand is so high that as soon as they produce a few pieces, everyone buys them very quickly! Even when they send out emails that they have some in stock it's already too late...
this is the kind of shield to take the windblast off your chest to reduce fatigue, not create a "bubble" of still air. you still get some air flow to keep cool.
@@DavidSmith-jj5pr Very true David! well said!
Great review!
Can you please tell me if the ground clearance is enough to clear sidewalks?
Thank You
Hi Sharon, The Rebel is a low bike, it depends on how high a sidewalk is. I wish i had a better answer....
Awesome review thank you is your clip on visor clear or smoke ???
Thank you Hawk! i got the smoke in a size medium!
Great video. I'm also thinking about it for my bike.
Does it also save your hands from the cold winter air or not?
Hi Andre! It's good to hear from you! Thank you for your kind words, unfortunately i didn't feel any noticeable hand protection from the wind....
Though you DO have those big bar risers. I was wondering if the risers may have played a part in pushing your hands above where the wing part of the fairing was intended to protect the grips area. The risers seem like a worthwhile upgrade whether they push your hands above fairing protection or not.
Nice one. So you finally joined prestige team of batwing owners :)
Yes that's it. I will try not to fly away and also go out during the day :)
Did you have any difficulties fitting it with the new risers?
@@kenkenenkit1556 No I didn't because I won't have it fitted by me. I ordered it with my rebel ;). I have to wait untill Dec to get it. If it won't come in time then I will have to fit it later myself. You should join group honda rebel 1100 world, there is video tutorial made by those guys.

Sure thing brother! Thank you for your kind comment! 🤙
is there a batwing visor which is 4 inches higher that will match with your handle bar riser? I can see that the wings part of the visor does not cover your hands/cloves at the grips.
Hi Rod! I'm heard of a few companies that are developing batwings for the rebel. Also check on webike Japan to see one that is available. 👍
Good review. How tall are you? Thanks
Thank you! I'm 5'7
that looks super good! I'm on the fence about getting a rebel 500 and wonder if this will fit it.
Unfortunately I don't think it will fit the 500, but I haven't personally mocked it up to a 500... Wish I had a better answer buddy 👍
Perfecto muy bonita ,me gustaa
Thank you!!!!
How did you activate the cruise control? I have trouble starting mine.
There is a grey circular button on the right grip, once you press it, an orange light some on on the right side of the dashboard and stays on, now the system is switched on, next you will use the set/res button directly above the grey button to set the cruise. Let me know if that works for you.
What frame bag is that? I have a batwing fairing on the way... I'm excited.
You should be excited! I had to waited for 6 month before I could find one.... The bag is called swmotech legend toolbag, sorry I don't have a link right now brother 🤙
@@ontherebel11 ahh nice SWMOTECH makes some of the highest quality and best designed stuff. I'll add that sucker to my list.
Great show and tell. The use of a "Tell Tail" says a thousand words (just ask any sailor)
So, some questions if you don't mind.
1.Where did you get the swing arm bag.?
2. will it both sides..?
3. Exhaust where and what have you done there...?
4. 4" risers how did that make it feel ....?
Cheers
Thank you Darren! 🙏
The tool bag is great and would work on both sides of the bike! Here is the link sw-motech.us/en/products/luggage/Legend+Gear/bags+accessories/4052572041253.htm?gclid=CjwKCAjwxOCRBhA8EiwA0X8hi-K6QDuSl5JPPoSKokibJ7HlfmlsJsbUMUz4AzCQXetZmwBGokGojBoCN-0QAvD_BwE
The exhaust is custom made my friend, you could go to a custom exhaust shop and have them make one for you, it sounds a little better than the TBR exhaust in my opinion.
I love my risers, I don't think I would have been able to keep the bike had I not installed the risers, I was dealing with a lot of pain. Now I can do tours for thousands of miles without any pain! Highly recommended! 🤙

I'm going to get 2 or 3 inch risers soon but the fairing set is on the way. Should i wait to install the fairing set until i have the risers installed?
Hi Sean! It is definitely best to install the risers first. Keeping in mind that if you choose to reroute the cables by removing the headlight, that you might as well take advantage of installing the batwing right after the risers. You can reference the risers Playlist as well as the batwing install video to give you an idea. 🤙
@@ontherebel11 right that's exactly what I was thinking. I'm glad I caught this video before the batwing set came in bc I didn't even think of that
What size Puig Clip-On Windscreen Visor is the one you got? (Small, Mid. or Large)
Hi Kim! I got the medium in smoke!
Thanks
Do you think we can use the new touring windshield? and would you change it?
Hey bud! Thanks for chiming in brother! I think that in the future, there will be a kit available as it's the same bike underneath, I'm very curious to see one in person to examine it closely. When I first saw the new batwing, I didn't like it, but the more I look at it, the more it's growing on me.... My gut feeling is that the touring model will be more popular, demand seems high for them. If you get a chance to see one in person, please update us! 🙏
@@ontherebel11 Good point. My deal breaker is the hand portion. If it can block the wind on the hands then I would want it. Yea i am looking for it at the dealers, hopefully one can stay on the floor long enough to see.
Someone recently posted that the top of the hand is above the batwing..... I hope that isn't the case...
@@ontherebel11 well that’s not promising lol. Thanks.
What is the bag just beneath the solo seat? Tool roll? Who makes it?
It's a tool bag made by swmotech

One question. Does it help blocking the cold wind from your hands somewhat?
Andre, it does not...... i rode with the batwing on a cold morning and it didn't do much... so i ended up getting heated gloves and i also have heated grips, i'm hoping that will extend my riding into winter.
@@ontherebel11 Thanks a lot. Maybe without the risers it will a little bit. It's funny just received my heated gloves Joe Rocket $150.00 yesterday. Got 4,500 miles on my Rebel and so far so good. I wish I could of make that meeting with Life of Birch but it's a long ride from The Jersey shore.

Hi Frank! No worries brother, I'm 5'7 👍
Difficult to gauge in the video, how much do you see through that windshield? Could you for example tint it/black it out without obstructing the view ahead? Thanks
Hi Rarri, absolutely! You can tint it without worrying about it affecting your line of sight! 👍
@@ontherebel11 do you think using plasidip to completely black out the inside of the windshield would affect sight? Rather than tint
@@rarri6301 it will not affect sight, it's low enough that you won't even notice it, I had the blacked out puig screen before the batwing and it didn't affect it at all! ua-cam.com/video/oL91vKzjTOQ/v-deo.html
@@ontherebel11 thank you! Think that would look awesome all blacked out!!
What is your size… I am 6 feet, will the batwing keep my head out of turbulence?
I'm 5'7. The air hits me at eye level with the stock screen. At 6 feet you will need a taller screen.
What bags do you have by the seat?
sw-motech.com/en/products/luggage/Legend+Gear/bags+accessories/4052572041253.htm here you go buddy!
I have the batwing. With the Rox 2" risers. I'm interested in a link where to purchase a clip on visor.
Hi Sherm! I got the medium in smoke, here's the link brother www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/puig-clip-on-windscreen-visor
Thanks Mucho! Will order today.
Anytime brother!
One thing I dont understand is why it works better than the puig windscreen. It looks not bigger or wider. Maybe the batwing helped? or it is because the angle? Anyway, nice video and thank you for sharing.
I had exactly the same reaction as you did! I thought it was going to be worse than the puig! The puig put the wind blast at chin level, the batwing puts it at eye level. I'm 5'7 for reference. The major difference that I felt between the two was how smooth the air hitting the helmet is with the batwing. Don't get me wrong, the puig does a fantastic job for a fraction of the cost, I didn't have any complaints about turbulent air when I was using it, I only noticed that after feeling the difference with the batwing. You can't go wrong with either one. For me it's more of an aesthetic motivation. The performance was an added bonus for me. I had anticipated early on that I will need to change the screen on the batwing to something bigger as I wasn't convinced it would do much. It will be cool to see what they come out with as a direct replacement. Thank you Sean! I appreciate your feedback brother!
@@ontherebel11 Thank you for the reply. This makes sense. I installed the puig shield after watching your video. lol I do like the look of puig(Black). Still considering the headlight cowl from Honda since I heard it works with the puig windshield. however, 240 dollars only for the decoration is not so easy to swallow. I maybe get a sissy bar instead. lol
@@Sean-yk2cf the cowl is pricey indeed, it's only for looks, but the cool thing about the puig is that it fits over it perfectly, a couple of owners in the Facebook group have posted pictures, it looks very good! Especially black on black!
Do you experience wind noise?
Hi Jordan, i use ear plugs brother as my hearing is damaged.

hello first of all I wish you a very happy new year 2022 with a lot of health and love. today i just received my batwing. I therefore bring my motorcycle to the dealership to have it installed. unfortunately what I expected has happened. the mechanic tells me he can't put it down because I put 4cm resets. Happy new year Ken! I'm sorry to hear that your mechanic was unable to install the batwing. I have 4 inch pivoting risers and i was able to work around them and make it work, i'm not sure if that is the same thing as the resets you mentioned. Make sure you order the cowl, stay and fairing if you get the batwing. You can also order the seat from that site as well. I'm not sure on the delivery times though.... is that whistling from the vent and have you noticed it as on the video its all I could hear in the background and it was so annoying

I got the fairing and the windshield, I gotta say the windshields is very poorly designed, it has made impossible for me to do any rides of distance. It has increased the wind noise to the point that it is not tolerable. Sounds like a jet taking off inside my helmet, ear plugs don't even really help. It is way to small, who ever designed this has probably never tried it. It needs to be at least 4" higher. I for one will never get any of Hondas after market products again. Honda hope enjoying my money on a worthless product. Sorry Gustav for using your forum, I don't mean to show you any disrespect.
No worries at all Frank! I totally understand your frustration, that is the reason I ended up modifying a huge screen that was 7.5 inches taller to push the air over the helmet. I tested the tall screen out on a recent trip of 1,500 miles and it made a significant difference in comfort and wind noise reduction. Around town and short day rides I use the small oem screen. I'm certain that in the future there will be replacement touring screens available from several manufacturers.
