Hate the bottom rack in my Bosch dishwasher. Nothing fits properly. Anything plastic flips up and is full of water when the cycle is done. So disappointed.

You did everything correctly until @1:27
Silverware up and down to prevent spooning or have the slot cases shut so that they all stand upwards except knives.
*That cereal bowl should have been on its side with the deep end facing towards the center of the dishwasher. Then you could have fit about 3 or 4 cereal bowls along that row next to eachother.
*That drinking glass and any other glasses should never go over top of the tines. That glass should have gone in the back left side row next to the other ones.
*The wine glass did not sit there nicely, it was very unstable and you would have probably found that wine glass laying on its side at the end of the washing cycle, possibly cracked or broken.
Those tines that were in the up position should have been turned down so that the rim of the wine glass would have been leaning against that short row of bent humps... you had the red coffee cup in wrong also. Turn the handle of the coffee cup towards the right side/high side of the bent humps (or whatever those 2 rows of little humps are called). The position shown in the video, the handle of coffee cups fall in between the small humps and goes down below the rack causing the sprayer arm to hit it when it turns.... during the wash cycle you will hear this click click clicking sound.
*You put the plates in backwards. You could have probably fit 5 or 6 more plates in there with A LOT of spacing in between each of them if you would have done it correctly. The plate should be facing the other way then it would have leaned at the same angle of the tines.

Apparently the first time he ever loaded a dishwasher, the pointers above do work much better. Bosch will how 12 to 14 place settings if done right. He barely got 4 in it and half of it was wrong. Would never let him sell me a darn thing.

We have the small space Bosch SilencePlus46dBA. We had another brand for many years then replaced it with this Bosch. The racking system is absolutely terrible. Compared to the same sized other brand dishwasher we had before, I can only put in about a third of the dishes/silverware etc. There are only a few dinner plate racks. The third level which is above is suppose to hold dinnerware laying horizontally. During the wash they all pop off and scatter throughout the washer. Absolutely the worst investment we ever made. It was on sale and we found out later it was going to be discontinued. Now I know why.

I now have a Bosch. I had a Whirlpool. The layout of the Bosch racks is just terrible. Its the same size machine as my old whirlpool but I can fit half as many dishes. My kids use a lot of bowls and there is nowhere to put them in this machine. Maybe its me. If you can show us where to put standard cereal/soup bowls with upright sides. That would be great

I agree, the layout of this machine is a bit wonky especially for cereal bowls...I couldn't figure out how or where to put all my cereal bowls but then I watched a video I found on UA-cam from the actual Bosch company.
I took all the tips and visuals from the Bosch video along with an hour or 2 of moving items around and now it all makes so much sense. I have a bit of ocd so I had to figure it out.
I can now fit with a full load of 2 days worth of dishes with plenty of space in between each dish for proper cleaning.
Right now my top rack has 8 coffee cups, 4 short milk glasses, and 6 tall milk glasses, 3 deep cereal bowls. The cereal bowls lay on their side with the deep part of the bowl facing towards the center of the dishwasher.. nothing is overtop of or covering any of the tines. The tines only hold things in place. There is still room for more glasses or cups.
The bottom rack has 8 large dinner plates, 5 saucers, 5 deep cereal bowls on their side again.. Again, nothing is over the top or covering any of the tines.
There is still plenty of room for more items.
Of course, the silverware holder is full and the top 3rd rack has my large serving spoons, spatulas, small odd things...
Let me know if u want me to email u a pic of where to put cereal bowls, you will be surprised at how many u can fit without touching each other, or covering up tines.

This video is the way I did it too, but it is direct conflict with videos produced by Bosch. I've changed to do it the way Bosch recommends and it works great. There is no need to "aim" dishes down...in fact, it disrupts the water flow from hitting other dishes. The water just needs to sheet off them, not power into them. Counterintuitive, but it works.

It's funny, I've watched a few videos by Bosch, and they conflict with each other! The one entitled "Loading Your Bosch Dishwasher for Perfect Wash Results" says bowls and pots face down. The one entitled "How To Load A Dishwasher: Bosch Dishwasher Tip #1" says bowls and pots go sideways. Also, one says spoons and forks up. The other says mix spoons and forks up and down. So, not even Bosch can figure out what is right?

  • @lovetolearn881

I think these Bosch dishwashers are called "Silent" because they rarely work. Mine functions mainly as a $700 paperwork that sits and pisses me off while I hand wash dishes.
I unfortunately have a Bosch Silence Plus 48 dBA paperweight. According to the appliance guy I spoke with, the control panels on most these dishwashers are faulty so this blinking light stuff starts happening and the dishwasher won't run. Eventually, the control panel goes up. My control panel was finally replaced at 11 months and Bosch covered that as it was still under warranty. The repairman told me he had replaced many of these control panels and one guy's dishwasher he had already replaced the control panel twice in a year. In my case, the new control panel worked about a month and by that time it was out of warranty. After the one year warranty runs out, all you will get from Bosch is the middle finger. They know about the problem and obviously this dishwasher should have been recalled or some kind of compensation offered for the faulty control panels, but they don't stand behind the product.
You know it's bad when as the repair man is leaving he says I'm so sorry you were sold this dishwasher. I'd like to tell you it won't break again, but it will 😢

I am having to run the dishwasher much more frequently with my new Bosch compared to my 7 year old GE (that decided to never turn on again), because the racks just don't hold as much. It's impossible to keep the dishes from touching one another. Are there are other racks that can be purchased that are laid out better?

    • @Donsappliances
      @Donsappliances  2 роки тому

Hello! There are different racks available to purchase, which you should be able to replace with the current racks in your model if they're compatible. You can purchase these from most appliance dealers, we would just recommend using Bosch's website to check which racks would fit in the model you have. www.bosch-home.com/us/owner-support/cleaners-accessories/spare-parts
