Thank you so much for this tutorial. I am 74 years old in it is hard for my brain to retain new information. I really appreciate this video. It made my first load a cinch to load and start. All came out beautiful. I have subscribed to your page so I can easily come back to it if I run into trouble. Thank you again dear. :)
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the video, much easier to understand some features! Also want to mention that the latest 500 series now needs Wi-Fi to work with the HomeConnect app to adjust the Dryness degree. The default ’Auto’ setting does not really make things ‘extra’ dry, probably because it would require higher temperature. Some other differences I noticed is it now comes with touch surface instead of real clickable buttons. Also it uses some light dots to indicate the rough remaining time like more or less than 2 hrs instead of the digital number display like this video. People want to buy the 500 series dishwasher need to check the official website for the latest info. Anyway I think it’s an improvement imo. And I believe all the functional settings mentioned in this video still exist in the last model.
THANK YOU FOR THIS. I have the guide, but it’s easier for me to watch it being done. This was extremely helpful. 🙂
Thank you for this informative tutorial. I recently bought a floor model Bosch 500 from Home Depot, which didn't come with a manual. I didn't even know about the adjustable shelves!
Yes it’s great for wine glasses and also for larger items. Enjoy your Bosch!
very good video and helpful. thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
My Bosh 18 should have had “Rinse & Hold” and heated dry by element that heats the air and does the Job!!!!!
Thanks. Nicely done.
Thank you for the kind words Chris!
Great video! We just installed my Bosch. I like it so far but will need to get used to a few things, unless I didn't set something up right or possibly a setting I can change? ... 1) My door shuts automatically unless the bottom drawer is rolled out 2) I don't see the time remaining displayed anywhere
Great video thank you my Bosch 500 is coming tomorrow so this was very helpful
Have a ? It runs for 2 hours seems like a long time unless you use the 30 min
Congrats on getting a Bosch! They are so quiet you will love it! Yes most of the cycles are 2 hours or more. But the "Clean 30" cycle is only 30 minutes. I use the 2 hour one (auto) after we are done w/ dinner and just let it run, and then empty it in the morning. It's so quiet it doesn't bother anyone when we go to sleep. Did that help?
My Bosch 500 has different buttons. No on/off button
Well mine is from 2018 so maybe they made a change?
Nice little video, I'm waiting for delivery. What about the Finish detergent? is that a must? I read that some people are doing fine with other brands, and Sams is highly rated by Consumers.
I think any rinse aid is fine. I like Finish but haven’t tried anything else.
Finish with Powerball tabs are great and is what Bosch recommends but you can absolutely use any brand that you want, including gels or powders if you want. The amount of powder you need to use is in the manual, if you choose to use powder…Also use the Finish Jet Dry rinse aid to help with drying.
My bosch lately is getting hard to start. I have to play with the buttons to get it to start.
Seeing how much I paid, I would buy another brand in the future.
Oh no! You may want to write to Bosch customer service to see if there is a fix. Maybe you can reset it somehow? Their number 1-800-944-2904
This may be a dumb question... but here it goes... Should the detergent and the Rinse Aid be placed in at the same time and is there a type of detergent to STAY AWAY FROM? Thanks! Great video!!
You would put the rinse aid in the rinse aid dispenser. Then with each load put the detergent into the detergent dispenser. So yes both at same time in their respective spots. I love Cascade Platinum packs! Thank you for watching!
❤❤❤ your review i am considering the 500. Not sure if really worth to pay for the 800 since we are only 2 no children’s
The 500 has served me well for 6 years and we are a family of 3!
I would just like to add that Bosch recommends pulling and rinsing the filter after each load. Winch makes sense being that large food particles would be falling there….It’s kinda like checking the lint filter and clearing it after each load of drying clothes( which everyone should be doing). If you don’t check and clear that filter after each load; I personally would do it at least once a day at the end of the day. Clearing that filter daily just makes good sense…To me anyway 😂😂…Outstanding video!!
I have different settings ... there is a more than 2 hour, less than 2 hours, 30 minutes and then clean. Can I adjust this??
I do not believe they can be adjusted. I took a look at mine and don't see a way.
Drying settings please. My dishes come out wet even after leaving it in over night after washing.
I always use the Auto button, and always use rinse aid in the dispenser. The troubleshooting guide says if dishes are not getting dry enough to use rinse aid. You also can call Bosch customer service at 1-800-944-2904.
I bought brand new bosch 800 but it's not drying well, there's water still remain on top shelf, does anyone faces same problem ?
Has your issue been resolved ? I'm looking into buying an 800. I'm surprised as i read from the reviews their drying works perfectly.
@brogen100 i am still trying to figure it out, i am using rinse aid too,
But it's better than the first several cycles.
I know this comment is a bit old, but I figured I'd post this in case you're still having trouble - you have to turn on the Crystal Dry for the 800. It's not available for the shorter cycles, which is annoying, but we mostly run it overnight. Once we turned it on with the eco or auto cycle, it's been drying everything really well.
@raindr thanks for the reply,
I am turning sanitize and crystal both ON, and its drying well.
my buttons are totally different and it does NOT dry the dishes. Your buttons are easy to understand mine doesn't even have a dry button or an On button.
I have to use a towel to dry every dish and piece of silverware. If I knew this I would have bought a different Brand.
I always use the Auto button, and always use rinse aid in the dispenser. The troubleshooting guide says if dishes are not getting dry enough to use rinse aid. You also can call Bosch customer service at 1-800-944-2904.
The latest 500 series now needs Wi-Fi to work with the HomeConnect app to adjust the Dryness degree.
I don't have a fancy model like you show in all the videos. Just a 100 series plus. And it's got so many options that I don't see in video like "2 hour", 1 hour". I'm a one person household. I don't need to run the dishwasher every day - waste of water and electricity. I ran my first load on one hour and some things came out feeling "sticky".
Warning! ‘Delay start’ needs you to start dishwasher EVERY TIME via the ‘home connect’ app on your phone for 500 series for the new model (without the time display). The ‘favorite’ option stored in the dishwasher does NOT respect the schedule you set, it would just start the dishwasher immensely if clicked the start on the dishwasher itself. Very annoying if you use delay start regularly. This issue can be resolved via Alexa or google home app linking to the home connect app in order to set a schedule to start the dishwasher automatically. Still a big mistake made by Bosch trying to sell the smart app thing but ruined some working well features.
You aren't Mechanically inclined. Always raise and lower the top rack releasing BOTH sides at the same time. Stand directly in front of the machine to do this. Actually point to the big hole the rinse aid goes in. The book isn't clear on this. Update your video to show the Bosch 800 series. The control buttons are a light touch. If someone mashes down on them like on your machine the machine will either error out and need a reset, or it will go to a menu we don't want to be in. I hope this helps.
I am definitely not mechanically inclined. I appreciate your feedback and advice. I was trying to move the rack for the video so you could see what I'm doing, I don't normally do it like that. I would love to do a video on the 800 series but don't own one of those. Thank you for adding your insights to the community! I appreciate your comments.
It doesn’t necessarily to adjust the upper rack at both sides the same time. It’s a feature to have different heights on two sides.
Please look at the camera when talking
Thanks for the feedback, I will try to do better on the next one. Thank you for watching!
