Thank you for this video. I just dug my Nano out of a box to give it one more try to make it work. I had almost thrown it away after buying a different model a few years back not being able to make the Nano work. The replacement just went bad and your video saved me having to buy another one with giving perfect instructions. Your efforts are much appreciated. Just wish I had seen the video then.
Question The wifi at my house is great. Strong signal. All good. My shop is 200ft away. Good signal outside shop but weak inside because it's a steel building. Do I just need one NanoStation Loco M2. Mount it outside shop. Power it up POE. Then run the ethernet from that to my wireless router in order to have WiFi in the shop?
BRILLIANT help video. I really appreciated thanks. Only took 2 hrs before I found this and then click all working. A bit of a brutal setup procedure but "now it works!" Thanks
Thank you friend. Played with mine for a while and could connect with Ethernet cable fine but I could not get the wifi from it as an access point. Turning AirMax off did the trick. I'd give a thousand thumbs up if I could. Right on! Cheers!
i set the channel width 40mhz and my android phone can't connect to wifi but laptop connects. So, i changed it back to 20mhz and it works fine. what is the difference between 40mhz and 20mhz. Do they affect in speed and range?
that worked a treat, i got one of these for 12$ at auction and was worried that this device was locked only to a P2P mode then i followed this video and now im happy to have wifi out in my shop
Man I have a question for you. Please help me How you connect the locoM2 that you can config it to access point via ip:192.168.1.20? I used poe adapter(from kit/set) and i connect first cable in port named "poe" directly to locoM2 and second cable connect to port named "lan"on poe adapter and finally to lan port on my computer but it doesen't work, also i config the net settings like you in Windows. Please help mi with that issue.
Thank u so much! turning off AirMax did the trick. this video helped me save a lot of time and frustration. BUT WHYYYYYYYY, UBIQUITI! JUST WHY? why use a proprietary wireless protocol and turn it on by default?
A word of advice before buying Ubiquiti products. You will need a Microsoft admin account to even run the software and it won't run on a regular user account with Microsoft. That means the Ubiquiti company is going to set up shop before even connecting you to the internet. After you install it is impossible to remove and the crappy products never work. The M2 loco in the video is a bit different but I can't get it to work either.
Hello there,I have one nanostation loco M2 device and dont want to make a link with another one,I just want to receive the wifi from my neighbour's router 50m away and providing it to my Tenda modem. Do I have to set a static IP?And if yes which one?Which wireless mode option should I choose?Save my life!Thank you in advance!
I had set ipv4 protocol static IP 192.168.1.100 instead you did with 192.168.1.7 .I kept following your steps,I set IP ADRESS 192.168.0.44 and GETAWAY IP 192.168.0.1 .And the 04:08 part I clicked "change" and my connection crashed and I dont know if the changes saved and I cant go back to the app because I dont know what to dial.Please!!..HELP!
hey man, i also use nanostation loco m2 but my firmware default was xmv5.6.3 i tried to upgrade and search all website only to found v.5.6.5 i saw your already got 5.6.9. can you send me your firmware?
Thanks man, you saved my ass. It took me 9 hours before I found your video! Just a question. If I'd want to setup my NSLM2 as access point router instead bidge, what would I need to do? Best regards.
The software is the problem with these. It is like installing a virus just to access the Ubiquiti products. Already tried 2 of them and the software messed up our network even worse while never connecting in a kind of Charlie Chaplian joke of connectivity where the network is just a bit out of reach forever. Hate these products and the software is a huge upsel.
Even though the Ubiqiti products look amazing on the outside, when you open them up it is just one crappy motherboard chip and a tiny antenna. I already destroyed one just for fun and for how much time it wasted at my business. The software never worked even after firmware updates which is the first thing you have to do according to the website. Remember if you buy this brand it is a 2 week frustrating process that ruins your computer with the crap software you installed and then tries to sell you more equipment with an endless process of frustration and ironic messages in the software. Total BS company! Watch out!

Good directions... for some devices to connect you may also need to change the channel width to 20 MHz
