After watching your video (Ubiquiti NanoStation loco m2 bridge setup) on UA-cam. It occurred to me I might be able to use this for a live event, where running cables is either impractical or impossible. My normal setup involves a closed network, which includes a switch, (sometimes connected to the internet via a router), a ATEM switch, a PTZ controller and several PTZ camera each connected to the LAN via etc cable. Typically there is a HDMI or SDI video source and a ethernet cable for data control. After watching this video I became curious if a long ethernet cable could be replaced with the Loco M2 to send data to the PTZ camera?
What I want to do is use the Teradek Sparks for video/Audio transmission and the NanoStation Loco M2 to transmit Data information. I am making the assumption that the packets sent from the controller over ethernet can also be sent via wifi.

Yes, of course, but there are a lot of better options in the wifi bridges market. This Nanostations are litlle to big and powerful to put in the back of your PTZ.

    Question
The wifi at my house is great. Strong signal. All good. My shop is 200ft away. Good signal outside shop but weak inside because it's a steel building. Do I just need one NanoStation Loco M2. Mount it outside shop. Power it up POE. Then run the ethernet from that to my wireless router in order to have WiFi in the shop?

Do we need a router at the station side also to host a network accessible from multiple mobile devices?

Yes. I will advice to have a routeur for your clients. This setup was for IP cameras we only used POE switch on both ends.

How does the configuration work with a iMac?

It's the same, you only need a web browser to do the configuration.
