White Zebra Pair - Day 1 to 11

- Here is my white zebra pair with their clutch. There were five eggs and four successful hatch. Both second and third chick hatch on the same day.
It is quite noticeable that chicks from white zebras come out pinkish in color giving an indication that they will become visually similar to their parents. But do check out day 9. You will notice on of the 2 chicks born on the second day showing dark wing feathers, showing indications of piedness.

I believe so. Parents should feed in small amounts but more frequently.
My finches 5 eggs layed before two weeks....when will hatch the eggs?......😢
like on 14 days so your eggs can start to hatch tonight or tomorrow (some eggs hatch on 14-15 days so dont worry)
thats so sweeeeet. i too hav a white finch n shes laid four eggs but does not sit on them. n all these months shes been laying n breaking them. Wonder why could u let me know pls.

@@brucewayne9183 just one white female n shes given me three little cute babies. they r 13 days old. i hav not separated them frm their mommy. but yes i do help d mommy by placing millet in d nest. i do keep changing fresh bits of soft tissues so that d babies remain clean all d time.
@Iona try not to look into the nest box the moment you see any eggs laid. They might be feeling insecure or stressed and might want some privacy.

I feed a seed mix on a regular basis. I also feed chopped vegetables at least 3x a week.

I have some issues with white Zebra finches and here it is.I had a pair of white zebra Finches (albino type) but found that the female was not interested in mating and always plucked off her feathers. I exchanged the female for another white female(albino type) but it turned out to be of similar behaviour. I again exchanged the white for a cream coloured female and then the results were positive. I have provided them with best Foods,nesting materials, nest box, sunlight, open air, free from pest and animals, disturbance free surrounding.
Can you please tell me why doesn't the female white mate with white male?
Hi. The female white zebras not accepting the mate may just be a coincidence. It is possible that they are still immature and not ready to nest at that time. Feather plucking can be a sign of stress so it was a good move to separate them.
Do not lose hope. Forced pairing is not always guaranteed to work. I have similar issues so it is good to have other birds to choose from. Try also colony breeding and observed those that will pair up. They are the ones who will have more success in breeding.

In the Philippines, breeding time for finches is all year round but I observe that it is less successful during the hot summer (April and May). Average clutch is 4-6.

Average White Male or female can live up to 6 years in wild and 3 to 4 years in captive(cage). They are always ready to lay eggs,no definite time as such provided food,fresh water and proper living condition is provided.
