    I fixed this problem too a few yrs. ago. I used to have to do what you did every month, and sit on top of the washer and turn off the cold and undo the hose to the washer and spray out the sand. I'm sure glad I haven't had to do that these past few yrs. anymore. It really works to put that water filter in.

    Wow.. you were going through exactly what we have been fighting for years. Our well water wrecked our washing machines! Thanks for the info!

    Thank you. It's exactly what I needed. It actually cost $43 ($32 for the filter, $7 for the filter cartridge, $4 for the shipping/handling). But it's still less expensive than having a plumber come out for an hour.

    I did this a few years back because of well water sediment in the small cold water washing machine filter that was a hassle to keep clean. People thought I was crazy for using a whole house filter to do it. Best fix for the problem.

    Thanks for the vendor's name. You saved me a lot of time. Our well water makes our washing machine loads smell to high heaven, but when I placed a short lived RV filter in-line, the problem was solved. Now, we put a real filter in-line. Thanks again.

    Thanks - My HOT water line is the problem. The HOT WATER filter and additional filter was $88. I hope this prevents the sediment for my washer. My washer keeps giving me an error and it turns out the Hot Water line keeps getting sediment. Thanks for the Video.

    Can someone out there answer some questions for a desperate man?
    FunBubble or anyone...what size is the filter show in the video and would a bigger one work better or would that be over-kill? Can i have an Amazon link for the filter that goes inside the unit? And is it best to hook this to the cold or the hot outlets? In the video, it looks like he hooks it to the hot. Any other advice you can give me would be great, I'm not a plumber. Lol. Thanks in advance.

    It's a good idea to turn the water off when the washing machine is off.
    But nice fix!

    Does this stop the sulfur smell as well? I just moved into a house with well water about a week ago and the washer water smells like sulfur 🤔

    I was wondering why you don't need one for the hot water, I guess depends on choice of water like cold/warm. So majority of the water will be coming from the cold side, and your water heater mostly likely would trap some of the sediments already.

    • @FunBubble
      @FunBubble  5 років тому

      hi, yes the hot water heater traps the sediment before it reaches the washing machine. Every few years i open the bottom spigot on the water heater to flush any buildup, theres usually a tiny bit but nothing major. ive never had to clean the hot water side screen/filter in the washing machine.

    so you did a video on an audio adapter. my headphone jack is stuck in my computer too, did it work without headphones?

    • @FunBubble
      @FunBubble  7 років тому

      your computer thinks the headphones are still plugged in so its sending audio to the jack and not to the speakers. try to remove the jack with a pair of needle nose plies or other tool. You can also search google on how to change playback devices on your model of computer. If you right click the speaker icon on the lower right taskbar u can adjust playback settings and might be able to switch over to speakers. good luck.

    Why didnt you use plumbers tape when you hooked all that up and dont you have a water filter for the water for when it first enters your house from the ??

      I too use rainwater from the well, and here too there is no pre-filtering installed on the well itself (that's what you ment, right?). My house is an old house built in the early 70's, and that's how old the well is too which means there is no pre-filtering installed. Back in the old days people didn't install this (don't even know if such thing already existed?), since people usually just used tapwater to do their laundry and rainwater for their garden. Tapwater wasn't as expensive back in the old days as it is now, and people didn't care if there was a freshwater shortage. Of course, this has changed now and many people switch over to their existing (old) well to save money and water and do encounter the debris problem too. Installing a new pre-filter on an old well is pretty much impossible without hiring someone to do it for you (old plumbing, well-fittings not suitable, etc) and/or digging up the entire well and replacing it with a modern system.
      In short, I too encounter the debris problem - specially after rainy days - and am looking for an affordable (DIY) solution to reduce or get rid of this problem. But here there is no plumbing that I can reach without tearing down entire brick walls and concrete floors, so the system this gentleman is using does not work in my situation.
      Cheers.

      They are hose fittings, there is no tape needed. Did you notice there were no leaks? He has a whole house filter. Did you WATCH the video?
