My town has yellowish orange water that will often taste salty, metallic, or like chlorine. The only way to keep these somewhat at bay is to buy a water softener and a ton of softener salt. The water will still taste a bit off out of the tap but running the water through a filter via a fridge or so on will eliminate the bad taste.

We have yellow water. There are pockets around my small town where the houses have yellow water. We thought a water softener would solve it. The first one, that also removed chloraban, was a disaster. We had grayish/ black water with black chunks, and it was oily. They removed it last Tuesday, installing, to me, a regular water softener. Kinetico. Our water is still yellow. We're so disappointed we paid 5k and still have yellow water. That includes a RO system also.

I'm getting yellow water coming out of the hot water part of my water jug dispenser. It's supposed to be spring water in the jug. What does that mean?

Ok. I have a water softener and great water from the Faucets. However, I am getting intermittently Brown water in the toilet bowl. My water is fed by city water. Any ideas? Thanks. Great video by the way

I am experiencing dark brown water coming from the hot side of my kitchen faucet, but not the cold side. Is this tannin, or a water heater that's faulty?

      Sounds like the water heater.

Did you fix your dark water? My house is same like yours. Dark water from the hot side.

@@cindywu4279 Cindy...I only got it after the winter, and in the month of March. I took a sample of water to a water treatment company, and they called it manganese. It did later just go away. Not sure why this happened but it did clear itself out. I was not about to install yet another filtering system for that. I think it was transitioning from winter into spring.

thank you for posting this comment. My faucets are clear, my shower is clear, but my toilet is terrible. I just bought a new house in looked in the toilet tank due to your comment and it was nasty in the tank reservoir. I was seriously getting ready to spend BIG BUCKS on a serious whole house filter system!!! Thank yo!

well my mom was outside watering flowers pretty much at the same time this was happening. it had come out brown thru the hose and it cleared back up. so when i went back in to check the toilet i flushed it a couple times and it was clear. did nothing about it

is this only a tannin issue or could it also be related to a deteriorating hot water heater? my water just recently started turning yellow all of a sudden after being clear for 8 years in this house

    • @uswatersystems

Is it only from the hot water? You can get discoloration from other causes. The only way to know for sure what is in your water is having a professional water test done.

Our office water is Dark Gray ish / Green ish / Black ish color coming only out of the hot water. Can you recommend what key words to use to search for the problem? The plumber has already drained the hot water tank, but it keeps coming back. He indicated he would put a bio-degradable silicone in the pipes at some point to see if that would stop the problem. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Honestly it could be any number of things. The only way to know for sure is with a water test done at a lab. Without one you will just be guessing. You may want to consider getting one like the one offered on our website: www.uswatersystems.com/us-water-lab-water-test.html Good luck.

My water ran really brown this morning and I ran the water for hours and now it has a yellow tint to it . What can be done my landlord is cheap and not even trying to flush it out. Should I call the city

    • @uswatersystems
      @uswatersystems  5 років тому +2

I would keep trying to pressure your landlord to get it fixed. It is his responsibility to provide you with safe drinking water. It sounds like it's Tannin which is still "safe", but just off putting and will also stain your clothes when you wash them. Try to get him to at least have a water test done to find out exactly what the problem is. Here is a link to ours: www.uswatersystems.com/us-water-systems-professional-lab-water-test.html?quantity=1

US Water Systems thank u for the reply!! I ran the water again this morning and it still has a yellow color to it , I stopped my neighbor who is 3 houses down and he said the fire dept opened the hydrate around the corner. Will this pass ?

    • @uswatersystems

@@MrsAi84 Hard to say. Give it a few days and see if it has improved. If not than again, I would pressure your landlord to correct the issue. Good luck.

I have a well around 85 feet deep. This is the first year seeing the tannin due to all the acorns falling I hope. Been here 10 years now and only see it when we get a big rain. Any ideas?

Do you live in florida by chance? I'm just noticing what I think is tannin now too. I actually have a whole house pelican filter and iron manganese filter.
