His artistry is unparalleled. Whenever he premiered a new video the world stopped to watch, it was an event. I got to see him live on the "Bad" tour and I will never forget it. To this day that is still in my top three concerts ever. They even did the "Smooth Criminal" lean and the crowd was mesmerized. It was pure magic! There will never be another MJ!

I was a fan, but not a really really big fan. I went with friends to a venue on the "Bad" tour and I actually won a ticket lottery and we got in the first five rows. At first I was going to give the tickets to friends but then I decided to go. Definitely the most mesmerizing concert I'd ever been to!

My daughter and I had the wonderful privilege of meeting Michael Jackson in a recording studio where his HiStory CD was being worked on. He had asked that my 9-year-old daughter attend the recording session that night so that he could hear her sing. He had been told about her by the gospel singer Andre Crouch, whose group was doing some of the backgrounds on HiStory.
After hearing my daughter (Leah Frazier) sing for him, he asked her if she'd like to sing a small part on the song HiStory. After that conversation, Michael ordered dinner for himself, Leah and I and we went upstairs to a small room overlooking the recording going on downstairs.
About a week later we were in a recording studio where my daughter sang her small part, and afterward Michael asked if we would come out to Neverland for the day when he was going to be doing a luncheon for those who worked on the HiStory CD. We ended up spending 12 hours at the ranch, and it was a thoroughly enjoyble day for my family.
She is one of the two child singers on the CD. The other child sang on the song 'Little Susie.' She was given album credit and paid by Sony Music.

If you like this performance, you need to check out the Billy Jean live performance where he did the Moonwalk for the first time. The turn and raise on his toes. Wow!! He was performing solo but he held the audience in the palm of his hand. An amazing showman from when he was a small boy (ABC).

I was at home when the news reported that MJ passed... A radio station played his songs all day long. They called it MJ radio! I cranked it up and danced in his honor while bawling my eyes out! No one will ever be like him again!

I was home in The Bahamas when I heard the news that Micheal Jackson had died, it was like a solemn feeling come over the whole country. I cried like a baby... I truly believe that anyone who loved and had a connection with his music understood the drastic loss on that day. RIP MJ

I remember when I heard the news… I’m not one to watch tv news or listen to it on the radio, back then I never had a smart phone. I had been out shopping all morning so was none the wiser. I got in and my partner at the time, said ‘have you heard the news??!’ I was like, ‘no, what?’ . Then he told me! I was in total disbelief, couldn’t believe I’d been walking round all morning not knowing 🙄.

No one I repeat NO ONE can replicate his sound, moves and talent. A true entertainer to his core! There will be only one MJ and he was called home way too early.
His stage presence was like no other. A G.O.A.T. in every sense of the word! I was in shock like the rest of the world was when his passing was announced by his brother. It was devastating to hear. Not to mention he had three young children at the time. They knew he was a superstar but to them he was just Daddy. It was a sad situation for his fans but especially for his family.

Fun Fact: This song was inspired by a first aid class. When they covered CPR they had a practice dummy named Rescue Anne. The first thing you're supposed to do is determine if the victim is conscious which resulted in gently shaking the dummy while asking, Anne are you ok?, etc. The rest of the song filled in with how Anne/Annie ended up on the floor.

When Michael Jackson died and it was announced on our local radio, I was walking into a restaurant in Mizner Park, in Boca Raton, Fl. As I was parking I heard the news and broke down in tears. All of us attending high school and college during the MJ years were sad. He took a piece of us with him.

I was in the car when I heard the news, and I cried every day for 4 years after that. My daughters and best friend wondered if I'd ever get over it. I did, but I didn't forget. There were flash mobs everywhere doing the Thriller dance. Ten thousand people shut down a freeway in Mexico City to do it. It was truly a watershed moment.

I encourage everyone, to look into the Black and White old films, from way back. Search for the dancer's (in different categories), the Musicians, singer's, and Actor's. Then you can learn so much. You will see moves, that different artist's have used. Michael Jackson, isn't the man that invented the Moonwalk....
Once you start watching these Films of Black Entertainers, you will see other's preform such moves.

I love watching the young ppl discovering and enjoying the gifts and talents of the superstar MJ. He left a mark on the world and will never be forgotten.
MJ will always be one of the greatest! That stamina, those moves, just incredible! My parents saw him live three times and had tickets for the tour he was planning to do before he died, he must have been amazing to see live. He was the first celeb I ever saw my mum cry over when he died.
I remember I was sitting outside on my porch with my family eating and we heard the news that Michael had died. I bawled my eyes out. Shortly after, there was a violent thunderstorm and I remember feeling like that was Earth’s reaction to his death as a lot of other areas across the country reported storms too. I have loved Michael for as long as I can remember and I’m now 50 years old. He’s also always been my biggest crush. There will never be another like him. I’m so glad I had his music in my life since I was a child. I will always love him and mourn his death and mourn the way so many treated that wonderful and kind man the last 16 years of his life over a bunch of lies.

You are spitting FACTS. There are VERY few artists that can even remotely touch the level of artistry that Michael had, and STILL has. No other artist today is on the same level imho. They can be the greatest of THEIR time, but the greatest of ALL time is and honestly might forever belong to him.

And it was unbelievable, the best show I ever saw in my live... Sound, Band, Performance.. just like from another planet... Probably the best Entertainer we had in history... All the best to you!
In my lifetime, I was blessed to see him live twice. He took the torch from a few entertainers before him and he ran with it like no other. The blueprint he created may never be duplicated, as far as the impact....Like most, I remember when the world seemed to stop moving on the day he released "Thriller"....Literally!! A lot of his music had a message in it....while at the same time, it was full of energy...and the videos...him dancing....WOW!!

Best concert i ever went too cost me $75.. highlight of my life to see MJ in concert in Auckland, New Zealand 11th Nov 1996 the HIStory tour. Just a once in a lifetime. He dedicated his life to entertaining us and sharing his love❤🙏 Thanks Michael for the memories!

I saw that live and i am so thankful for it. It was a pleasure to see him on stage. My expectations were high, but he blowed away. It was the best concert of my life. MJ was the king and will be ever the king. He was the inspiration of so many artists, he was the game changer.
As he passed away i slept and got a text-message from a friend. I was awake directly and ran to the tv and it was real. Horrible day. The next weeks i couldn’t hear any music. He was the soundtrack of my life.

I grew up with four sisters. Our whole family went to see the Jackson 5 at Cobo Hall in Detroit in 1973. My only time seeing MJ live. Even then MJ was like a bolt of lightening on the stage! "Dancing Machine" was their big hit.

I was sitting in my living room with my pops and a couple of other people. The room just went silent and stayed silent for a solid few minutes before there was a legit outpouring of emotion from everyone in the room. It hit hard man.
I grew up listening to the Jackson 5, he was awesome in the 70's & to perform the way he did clear up to his death was amazing!!! I think I told this story, but SEGA put out his "Michael Jackson Moon Walker" game & Michael designed it!!! I played that game all the time!! The music was crystal clear like you had it on the stereo turntable. The quest was to rescue Annie, the little girl who was mentioned in Smooth Criminal. There were "Goons" that were like in the mafia. In order to beat them up to save Annie, you pushed "A" & "C" at the same time on the remote & Michael would do a dance move throwing his hat & knocking them down. They played a bunch of his songs, I loved that game so much!!!
When MJ died, I think I was cleaning house when I heard about it. I watched the funeral in awe thinking it couldn't be possible the "King of Pop" has passed away. Loved your reaction, Tim & Fred. If you liked this, you should try, "Scream" with MJ & Janet. That was a newer one that they did not too long before he passed away. His music got me busting a move on many of his songs, more to possibly try is: Dirty Diana, PYT (Pretty Young Thing) , Rock With You, Man In the Mirror, to name a few. It must have been a few months after he died that Neverland rides were sold to a carnival company , it was strange because in my town about a year after his death when the county fair came into town they had all the Neverland rides. They were playing all his music. As people walked past the various Neverland rides and heard the music you could see the effect it had some would start to cry some would dance. It was surreal.
I am thankful that I was able to see MJ live! One of the best experiences of my life.
I had just left my mom’s house where she and I were talking about Farrah Faucett, who had passed away that morning. By the time I got home and turned on my tv, there was breaking news that MJ was rushed to the hospital. Such a devastating loss to this day.
I watched Michael perform live in London in 1992 on the Dangerous tour. Hanging off the crane singing Beat it!! Increíble.

I've been a fan ever since watching him and his brothers on the Ed Sullivan show around 1968. I was 7, and have followed him through the years. My favorite album is Off the Wall, which I found on vinyl a few months before his death at a flea market along with Thriller, the originals :) anyway, I'm a home health and hospice nurse and had finished seeing my patients and when I got home I heard the news that he was in the hospital. I immediately started praying for him, only to no avail. After he passed my son wanted me to sell the vinyl, to fund my trip to the UK. NOPE, i didn't do it, still have them
Michael’s genius began at such a young age. Please check out his amazing vocals on Who’s Lovin’ You (a Jackson 5 song but Michael sings lead), written by another goat, Smokey Robinson. You hear that and it’s easy to see why he was revered for decades.

I went to at least 8-9 michael jackson concerts, from the jackson 5 right through to every world tour he had ever done... Im 61yrs old and seen a lot of concerts, but every time i left a MJ concert, I was visually and physically drained... greatest concerts i had ever seen. You would never ever have another entertainer like him again.... he set the bar for all stage shows.
I took my 9 year old son to see Michael and brothers in Victory Tour at Dodger Stadium...AWESOME!!! They didn't stop dancing for 2 solid hours!!! Tickets? $30 a seat!!!!!!!

My family had just gotten home from my grandfather’s funeral… which didn’t effect me nearly as much as reading that Michael was gone. That’s when the tears started… and to this day will still flow when I think about him. I grew up with Michael’s music and thought of him as a friend, even though I never met him. His death is still the most profound “celebrity death” I’ve experienced.

I went to both shows and had an incredible time. Amazing performances with all six brothers on one stage. It was also the debut of Michael’s legendary moonwalk.
I was checking the mail and my neighbor across the street who just like me is an MJ fan, asked if I heard what happened Michael and I said no, she said it’s all over the news, ( I didn’t have my tv turned on, so I had no idea at that time) she said he is dead and I was like what? I came back in the house turned the tv on, and I was just stunned and couldn’t believe it.
He is truly missed, his music, his moves.

I was at a check cashing place watching the breaking news on their TV screen. My heart stopped, and I almost broke down right there. I couldn’t believe it. Not my idol. 13 years ago and It still hurts like yesterday. MJ was family to the world.
Love to see youngsters reacting to MJ. He was other worldly, and there will never be anyone like him again. I grew up with him...even as a little boy, he could MOVE, and he had such a beautiful voice, which he managed to maintain even after puberty.
Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal video (and this live performance) were tributes to Fred Astaire's movie "The Band Wagon". Michael's style of dancing was not like that of the performers who dance or create dance routines, but rather the styles of the greats that were before him. They didn't DANCE, they PERFORMED; they put on PRODUCTIONS. They told the story with their dancing. They ACTED in their DANCES. THAT'S what seperates Michael from the others. In order to really appreciate Michael, you have to know WHERE his inspirations came from and how everything he did was so intentional. And guess wha? i'm still learning, and i've been a fan for 53 years. And in my learing, I am discovering; discovering the old movies, the old stars and it's so fun!!
In MJ's song "Dangerous", his spoken part was a take on Fred Astaire's spoken part in "The Band Wagon":

I have a good friend who grew up in Poland, that saw him on this tour as a teenager. Her and some friends traveled down to Bucharest. They arrived two days before the show and camped out in the rain with thousands of other fans, just to see a glimpse of him at the hotel. She said the concert was the best she's ever seen, and that the atmosphere was wild. People were being carried above the crowd to medical personnel, because they'd passed out from pure excitement. She summed it all up by saying it wasn't just a concert, it was an experience.
I was at work in a convenient store in Memphis,TN when Michael Jackson died. I cried like he was a member of my family. I was in shock for hours. RIP KING OF POP ,😭😭😭
Watch the BAD tour young men. We will NEVER see another performer put the raw talent, energy, and effort to their performance that we saw MJ put in during that tour. It’s absolutely unrivaled in modern history, like if we had a Mozart or Beethoven concert on film, its a master at his craft.
There has never been, is none now or ever will be any artist as great as Michael Jackson. Singing, dancing and just talking the man is a legend and hopefully always will be. I miss his talent; it cannot be matched!

I was lucky enough to see his live twice at Wembley in London. Both shows were out of this world, even though the second time he mimed a lot of the songs
