Samsquantch how’s it morbid?
Finn had to fight literal gods, and yet the creator said that the deer was his most difficult opponent.
Well, a deer with hands, even the gods would be afraid, since imperfection to us is perfection to gods. I think.
think about it though, this deer caused him serious trauma (for what he thought was 6 months) that forced him to be unable to look for answers because of how frightened he was. the gods didn’t cause him that amount of psychological damage
I mean, I understand why they said that
It mentally broke Jake, almost completely destroyed the relationship between Jake and Finn and the Candy Kingdom, not to mention it also nearly murdered everyone in the kingdom
And besides the hands, Stag defeated them both really easily because it never put an honest real fight
It really freaks me out just what the deer is, it's definitely not "just a deer"

I guess it's his subconscious using trauma to stop him or something similar, just like how we tell some people to not do stuff due to ourselves being scared.
Sonic Plays that’s what I was thinking. He probably didn’t even know what he was scared of all he knew was that he didn’t want any part of it.

The deer has no ears, has human eyes, all its hooves and "hooves" look like cups, it effortlessly breaks bones and runs away, and it survives having its neck snapped like nothing happened.
I feel like it comes from a long ancestry of mutated deer from the beginning of Ooo, meaning that theres likely a whole family of these things running around
Either that, or its been alive since Ooo formed, as it seems impossible to kill.
And it’s a predator, its eyes are in the front
maybe it’s a mutated person that turned to a deer from the mushroom war or smth idk bruh this creepy
I think it's a costume housing something way worse
It
*No*
Well candy people actually aren’t the most intelligent species in the ooo so they would of easily believed jake and go on with their lives pretty normally
Except Princess bubblegum, would be a bit skeptical.
@@Cozmikazi Stag probably got her really early on, and used Jake's mental instability to cover it up since everyone except her and Peppermint Butler are the only really smart ones in the candy kingdom (Pep butt was probably then kidnapped either after or along with PB to make sure the candy people could only turn to Jake)
What about Root Beer Guy?
gumball guardians?
colonel candy corn
The scariest part about this episode is that Finn and Jake are the *only* defense against these kind of things. Nobody else would really happen upon mass kidnappings. A whole 6 months passed.
That... is actually a really concerning way of putting it. I like your thinking!
@@pyronaught6823 Yeah, that's what makes it worse. Someone (or something) could legit get away with this sort of thing. Finn and Jake are the only defense. Ice King (lol), the LICH, etc.

THIS BITCH HAD HANDS !
Poor you
Mr.Grabbie hands
This deer managed to break Finn's legs and knock him unconscious for a long time, injure Jake's head and traumatise him, and capture the entire candy kingdom. And all of these in just 1 episode. If this deer killed Finn while he was asleep the show would be over. That is really disturbing to consider how easy this deer could have ended the show alone lol.
Holy shit, I never even thought of that. You think the deer even knew where Finn was?
The deer only after sugar as his food so it's probably the deer was not going to after Finn and Jake
I think the scary thing about the hands is that it implies the deer really isn't normal, like it's some whole other nightmare in disguise.
Like something or a creature straight from the pits of hell took the form as an herbivorous creature with demonic energy
it has no ears, opposable eyes(it had eyes first on the side then they shifted to the front) and its hooves, which re no doubt actual hooves, slough off to reveal its fully fleshed out fingers, which deers have, just fused into two rather than five.

Fun Fact: The deer, known officially as Stag, according to the Adventure Time DVD commentary, did survive the end of this episode. But he was turned into a telescope by Magic Man at the beginning of the episode "Son of Mars". He remained a telescope until Magic Man's power was superseded by Bonnibel Bubblegum's magic as a pure candy elemental. After the events of "Skyhooks II" he was turned back to normal when Lumpy Space Princess reset the Land of Ooo. He now presumably remains at large.

Honestly, it just seems fucked up when you realize the deer just has their neck broken abruptly at the end, and then its just rolled into the drain. The reason that's creepy is because not only is it easy to assume it's a death, but it's a meaningless one. Obviously there was reason to kill the deer, but the focus of the story is on the trauma this creature caused, not the creature itself. And it's death is... realistically blunt. We still know nothing about the deer except what it can cause. We know it isn't normal, but from that episode alone. We cant even be sure it's dead.
I copied this from a comment so enjoy: "Fun Fact: The deer, known officially as Stag, according to the Adventure Time DVD commentary, did survive the end of this episode. But he was turned into a telescope by Magic Man at the beginning of the episode "Son of Mars". @@alinastanescu4430 He was probably on the verge of death and magic man "saved" him

the beginning was so blunt too just.. ugh the leg snapping noise is horrid *that* is my least favorite part
That "no one can hear you" with the nurse in a ghost town alone with a insane man while you're trying to save the only person who can save you and your loved ones gave me chills
The episode also implies that the deer outsmarted Bubblegum, thwarted Peppermint Butler’s dark magic stuff and bypassed the Gumball Guardians in order to kidnap everyone, and apparently did it so sneakily and efficiently that nobody could build up some armed resistance against it.
For me it makes me annoyed that this episode was never explained or reference ever again. This was one of the more creepy episode but nothing comes after that.
Wtf is this stupid ass comment I made
Well stag which is the deer's name appears in sons of Mars and is turned into a telescope by magic man.

I don't think it's the same deer. It must have come from somewhere, so I assume it belongs in a family for sorts. We know from the farmworld timeline where people weren't mutated. Choose goose was human, not a duck.
I assume the deer in farmworld is just a regular deer. I'm guessing it mutated to a degree where it has a family of those exact deers, hence why we see one turn back to a deer after LSP reverts the candy people back to how they originally were.

I have seen too many suspense/thriller/horror movies to count, and I have NEVER gotten scared (like I jump at jump scares occasionally, but that's about it, and even then I don't jump too often). BUT THIS DEER SCARES THE EVER-LOVING SH*T OUT OF ME!! I've been trying to find/watch analysis videos on this episode because I love film/media analysis so I thought it would make me feel better (it has a little bit, but when I see those deer hands I just-).
FUN FACT: The creators said that the 2 cinder blocks and the sewer flushing were NOT ENOUGH to kill this deer. They said he has recovered and still exists somewhere in Ooo. Have fun sleeping with that little tidbit, I know I do.
No one:
The Deer: *f i n g e r s*
Dude you absolutely need to talk about that weird af episode where Finn get transformed into a giant feet by the Magic Man
Yeah that was messed up
@@ChocKsic what's messed up for me wasn't the fact that magic man turned finn into a foot, it's how jake was so reluctant to help finn become a normal human again and constantly trying to talk finn into staying a foot
KIM! I WILL DESTROY YOU
@@mountainstream8718 You'll understand when you're older.
Nah he needs to talk about the episode where they’re in a video games and they get the virus where it’s marceline eating her hair
I like to imagine the deer is the one frozen by Simon 1000 years ago, preserved in the ice and slowly being transformed by the radiation.
Tbh watching that episode gave a liitle frightening emptiness at the end where they just threw the deer and cheered, *that deer deserved to be boiled in the fire kingdom*
Lmao
what about that one episode where jake got poisoned and almost died to a tiny cat?
C0mm yeah that one was really interesting but actually didn’t scare me
@@owenpoofacebuttmunch309 but the fact that Jake had to kill a woman is really scary

Jake trying to abduct Finn is so unsettling it's like watching a different person using his body.
Vicarious yes.
This episode just felt like child molestation.
Jake forgot that he was married the entire episode.
The Deer is one of Golb's scholars
for me i feel like who ever directed that show at that time tried to meddle with the fear of the unknown,
and it worked flawlessly for adults and children
In a strange way the earlier episodes are darker then the newer ones
Ngl, i think its pretty consistent, but darker in other ways.
The earlier episodes had these weird ass moments that's not only dark but also straight up scary.
The middle seasons have darker stuff that deals with emotions, like "Betty", Lemonhope, Martin, and others.
The later seasons deals with more existential horror, starting with Puhoy and Hall of Egress, then going with GGGG's death and finally with Golb and "Whispers".
I’m not sure what ngl stands for? But I agree
@@troybar4130 not gonna lie

I don't remember much about Adventure time but that episode with the horse on the hill was creepy as hell when I was a kid. I think I might've been afraid to watch this show lol.
you know what's a more disturbing episode?
the episode with the mini versions of themselves
oh, I thought that episode was kinda cute :/
I knew i wasn't the only one that found it creepy
Ah yes....”All the little people”...one of the most unnerving episodes of an animated cartoon I’ve ever seen
I think “hall of egress” was personally horrifying for me. But adventure time is one big fever dream
also that episode with the nurse clowns. i always skipped that episode.
this feels like a lost episode
The fact the deer casually took it's hooves off and there's HANDS. This program is messed up how did I not notice this when I was younger.
But honestly wasn’t “The Creeps” episode nearly as creepy as this one? I mean, to be honest the whole deer thing was most likely the cause of the Mushroom war and how animals were probably affected by the nuclear bombs, which caused the deer to be more human-like. While in “the creeps”, there is a creepy ass house their staying it, completely unexplained as to who made it and why it’s there... the fact that Shoko was seen in the episode is very creepy, and it’s still unexplained how Finn is able to keep seeing his past life.
Tbh all their Halloween specials were spooky 👻👻
I think he can see her because they're connected by the blue comet, she was his previous incarnation.
BRUH, YOUR RIGHT, the lack of explanation is the scariest factor
I think what makes the deer episode creepier is that there are more questions left unsolved than The Creeps. Everything is revealed to be an elaborate prank caused by Finn and flipped around by Jake. Shoko only showed up for a little while and her identity was eventually revealed in later episodes (and how Finn can see Shoko feels like it can easily be easily explained). Meanwhile, there’s so much that happened in the deer episode we still don’t know how to explain and the more you try to make answer, more questions are made.
Was Finn really in a coma for six months? If so, what did Jake do in those six months? Was he really that crazy he refused to do anything? How did the deer capture the candy people so easily? Did he get them all at once or one at a time? If it was one at a time, how did no one notice it? Is the deer extremely quiet or can he silence his victims? What’s even more terrifying is that Adventure Time is a show that explains everything, even the smallest of things like Jake’s dolphin friend. But this is the one exception where nothing is explained and it’s up to us to draw our own conclusions.
please someone explain how shoko is finns past life???
I love how Finn just gets merked by a deer
Chiaki Nanami approves this comment right knowing he straight slays everything else lol
*kills litch*
*annihilated by a fucking deer*

The deer saw an opportunity and broke his legs.
1:42 THE FACT THAT HE IS FRONT FACING THOUGH
The way they handled the sounds in this episode scared me at night despite the visuals looking bright
Finn is a heavily abused and mistreated character in this series: seperated from parents later abandoned by dad, sexually assaulted/abused more than once, injured/physically abused almost daily. Among a lot more
The amount of mental and physical damage that finn just walks off is insane. It's even shown in this episode: he gets both his legs shattered in two different places and sucks it up, and later just runs after 6 months of not moving, which should take a lot of muscle therapy.
Bruh id be surprised if Finn didn't have a mental break and suicide himself
He rlly is a tough kid. I used to think his whole “vault” idea of shoving trauma down was kinda bad but mayyybe it’s for the best he has somewhere to put that stuff...
And he almost died more than 5 times
He doesn't fear death anymore, he just past trough it like it's just a moment of the day.
broken legs usually take 4 - 6 weeks to heal, and with finn receiving two huge breaks in each his legs like that, I'm sure the 6 months isn't accurate, but it'd be more like 2 - 3 months, probably.
They DID heal though - Finn just didn't know it until his cast broke apart.
@@segridhelmsman when asked about his legs towards the end of the episode he says their still broken
@@misterdj6671 I think that's a joke
well yea they healed, it'd been (likely) 2 - 3 months after they broke
I look it up and depending on the fracture it’s possible for it to take 6 months to heal. A tibia/fibula takes about 6 month to heal.. in children.
When the bugs crawl out of Jakes ears and scurry all over his body
i get more shivers when a person talks about the episode than the actual episode itself
Most disturbing A.T. tier list:
1. Billy/litch lore
2. Finn becoming the ice king in alternate universe in "finn the human"
3. "The comet" where Finn is met with a choice of living forever or staying on earth. (His dad takes the deal and leaves him)
4. Ice king(simon) and marceline backstory
5. When Finn lost his arm
6. "The vault"ghost lady who turned out to be Shoko. (Shoko is Finn from a past life)
7. "Egress" in which Finn cannot find his way out of a dungeon without his eyes closed.
8. "Infinity train" where on finns birthday, they go on an infinity train where Finn almost spent the rest of eternity.
9. "Recardio" he's just a creep.
Yuzuru Library how about the freakin creepy clowns saying “its the only way” and the cannibalistic lemongrabs
Egress is honestly one of my favorite episodes

I think "King worm" was pretty creepy too
The scene at the sewers looks kinda like "It".

But Pennywise ain't casting people in sugar. This deer is much creepier. I, sometimes, see Pennywise as the handsome actor of the character.
It was like It and Alien
The scariest character in adventure time is the deer but the scariest thing about the deer is the deer is not a deer
I remember watching adventure time as a kid and thinking nothing of it. Now that I'm older I can really appreciate all the work that was put in building up this world.
real question: what was the deer actually planing for the candy people?
Probably getting there sugar
