You don't see a video on St. Croix very often despite how big it is. Shame the mosquitoes get awful in the summer, but I love the fire tower. I did some hiking on the Kettle River when I was there last year and would definitely recommend if you're looking for more spots.
Thanks donut, it's a beautiful park. I checked out some of the Kettle River earlier this summer when I was in Banning State Park and was surprised at the hidden gem that it was. Thanks for watching!
I’m going this weekend.. Did you see any bears or wolves? Some reviews from 2019 said there were bears who knew how to get at your food and another one who said they saw a bear cross the road and also saw a wolf… I don’t recall any of the SP info mentioning anything like this or that a bear bag or canister were needed… I’m new to tent camping and this makes me just a little nervous lol
I didn't see any bears on this trip, however when I was there 2 years ago I had 2 bear sightings. One came through my site as I was about to set up, the other out on the road. For the most part, they want nothing to do with you, just food, although thats when i started carrying bear spray with me, just in case. Usually, as long as you keep your site clean of trash your ok, just be aware. I would just make sure you keep all food in your car and nothing in your tent. Ask the ranger when you get there if there has been any activity, they will let you know. Be sure to check out the firetower, the fall colors should be beautiful this weekend from above the treeline! Have fun and let me know how it goes!
I would have just run a ridgeline between 2 trees over the middle of the tent, thrown the tarp diagonally over the ridgline. Orient the tent door under the ridgeline. Then tie down the dangling corners from the ground. No pooling of water in the tarp.
The tarp for the win! It only gets better with practice. Excellent views too! Can't ask for much more than that! Good show friend
Yes! Thanks for the suggestion, it worked great. Beautiful white noise to sleep to. Thanks for watching!
Love it here😊
Really enjoyed! Keith and Mary enjoyed it as well!
a tarp over a tent is a great sense of security for sure.
nice ! i did not see the fire tower last time i was in the park ! need to go back now
Its a bit of a drive, but well worth it. Thanks!

wow why is it so empty there? Crazy nice - you get the place to yourself? Sunday night! OK - that makes sense. It's all based on timing! nice.
that HUGE tarp was hilarious. they can't walk under it but the water definitely will flow off and far away.
A tarp that big shows true commitment, I struggle with a 6x6. Thanks!
Wow I thought this was the one by Taylor Falls! No way.
22:24 - There's overkill and then there is overkill
wow 220 camp sites with some 33,000 acres!
I wouldn’t be worried about the Bears and the wolves Sasquatch is the one you should be worried about they love that river

Thanks for the advice!
so their "trails" are actually roads?! hahaha
Too many selfish and obnoxious metro people.
