Krantz Carlock Lefebvre II would be great, I’m still listening to the first a decade later.

There may likely not be a more unique drum set player from my lifetime than Carlock. Ive been in awe since first hearing him on the Two Drink Minimum album. If Carlock is on the track, you know within the first few seconds. Genius!

Lordy! I keep listening to this again and again! As with any great trio (and this is a great trio,) it takes three gifted players with huge ears, but it is usually the drummer who 'propels' the group. Such is the case here.

  • @DaveDwyer

    Epic.

The more I listen to this , it is clear to me that Keith Carlock is the driving force behind this trio. Ginger Baker was indeed the driving force behind Cream. They are extremely different drumming styles and humans, but nonetheless, a great trio starts witha great drummer.

Amazing. Other than the music, I rather like what seems to be a poster of Les Paul (5:30) - it appears that he is looking on approvingly ;-)

Carlock goes from 'free playing' (no discernable 'one') to playing 'time' again and unless you really listen, you don't even notice.

I Just watched a you tub evideo of Krantz describing phrasing and his approach to phrasing. He explains how/why they can do this and it all comes back together as you describe.

Has Wayne been a fitness regime before the tour. He looks very well especially with the hair cut. Special diet?. Oh and the music. Thanks

"The Art of Noise" ! Wayne Krantz is a great guitarist.. I understand self expression but I'd be lying if I didn't say that this stuff is very tedious to listen to.. I know folks wanna feel hip and pretend like they get it but this is Ornette Coleman like noise..and I know y'all don't really get it.. unless you on shrooms or some other mind altering substance.. It's self absorbed self expression.. I'm all for freedom and Wayne following his muse and all .. and I like him but I wouldn't pay for this ! 🤔He is a great guitarist though !!!
