Working Hard to Know The Truth | 2 Timothy

This week we will be exploring 2 Timothy 2:14-19, Working Hard to Know the Truth.
The ultimate battle in our world is the battle for truth.
Our enemy is known as the "father of lies."
Our Savior is the way, the truth, and the life.
"If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32)
As the apostle Paul faces the prospect of death, he exhorts Timothy to be a strong solider for Jesus Christ...but he also encourages him to be a faithful servant in the church.
To avoid foolish arguments.
To confront false teachers.
To love God's truth.
To study God's Word.
To teach God's people.
Everything in his ministry would hinge on staying true to the Word of God.
The same is true today. We live in a world filled with false teachers, deceptive philosophies, fake news, divisive arguments, and fearful, angry people.
It is easy to get side-tracked into "word fights" and quick fixes.
But what we need is to be diligent to study God's Word, allow His truth to transform us, and then live with the spirit of power, love, and a sound mind for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
God's truth is a solid foundation that will stand.
May we build our lives upon it!
