This run felt significantly more solid with the current route. Time was lost to a missed jump in Penguin Den, as well as several other movement errors. The time save is mostly due to all the major parts of this run going well.
While the timer is stopped at 24:33, the actual time of this run is 24:32 (I was slow to stop the timer because I was honestly surprised that the last pillar hit Pusca).
Factoring in the obvious ~10sec time loss in this run, with more optimal movement sub 24 is technically possible, but it would take an very optimal run with the current route.

My man completed a game in 25 mins which my 6 year old self took months to complete
I didnt have a memory card, so i turned off the tv left the ps2 running overnight. Still couldnt bea the game, and had to restart multiple times. Probably played it over a year and never fully completed it. Still, some of the best memories.
@@SnusKing I used to do that with sonic because for some reason specific games wouldn't work with memory cards was heartbroken every time my mum would turn it off thinking I left it on by accident 😂😂
@@wl20309 hurts my soul😆. And i had the same problem with my gameboy color, that pokemon blue would "out of the blue"""" reset, or perhaps i was retarded and accidently erased the file😎. Didn't beat it until i was like 16 years old💀
This was one of my favorite games growing up. This was my first time seeing a speedrun of it. Unreal run buddy, keep it up
It's crazy to think the resolution on this game is so low. I remember it looking amazing 12 years ago.
No the resolution is actually good.
On an HD TV with the adaptator 480p looks amazing! And if it looks disgusting on this video this is because his capture card sucks.
On pc is better this is the ps2 version

I didn't even finish this game in my childhood (it was fokin hard for a 5 year old), but bloody hell that was impressive!
I still remember every map that I had seen and everytime I asked myself on how you need to get past that part without the item, you just did it...
That Samus Aran ball game worked more often than I thought, but also the running around at the edges of the map made me laugh multiple times!

I'm 7 months late but this is absolutely insane! I played this game with my older sister when I was around 5 or 6 and we never beat it. Crazy to think it can be beat in under 25 minutes when I played it for at least year and never came close. Thanks for the trip down memory lane brother! Keep it up!👍👍
The fact that he jumped the first ledge where you needed the rising strike just astonished me, I thought it was impossible, I tried forever when I was younger and this legend just does it first try casually.

This game has such good gameplay, the animations of the characters are so cool and fit the style so well, i wish this could be remarkable on the new gens

I found this game for the first time used at a video store for play station 2 when I was 16 years old I am 35 now .I've loved this game ever since. Now my 14 year old son is a big fan of this game .thank you for keeping the dream alive .

Hey, I’m trying to start speedrunning this game but I don’t know how to do a triple jump. Could you tell me how (I’m on GameCube)
my comment from another video: I absolutely loved this game as a kid and thought it was the best graphics on original xbox. My uncle got me this game for my birthday and I remember thinking "wtf is this boring looking game" and oh man was I wrong. My favorite thing to do was go to turtle monument where the tribesmen are bating up the momma gorillas with those toxic bombs and the baby gorillas were in those cages and I'd free one momma gorilla from a single tribesmen dude and immediately run away just to watch it take out the rest of them lol. It's also a game where I discovered my first glitch. In the village if you keep tapping the dash button on the corner of one of the houses while running into the wall of said house, you'll start sinking into the floor almost submerged by the ground. This game was ahead of its time when it comes to platform games with an incredible story campaign and awesome levels with awesome scenery. I didn't know about the gorilla being able to break the walls on turtle monument and watching this video makes me wonder if I missed these spots lol thanks for the memories

would finding a glitch to get into st. claires excavation camp (like the one to get over to twin outposts quickly from flooded courtyard) allow you to cut off the entire trip to the cold region?
Unfortunately no. We have found setups to get into St. Claire's excavation camp, this strat is actually used in 100% runs. St. Claire's excavation camp requires TNT as there is no known way to exit excavation camp due to the stone wall covering the entrance softlocking you on exit. Can you position on top of the tnt boxes in st claires camp so the explosions will knock you towards the exit/place you on the other side of the wall faster?
Yes, you can absolutely do this exit strat for the excavation camp. It is a little riskier, but can save a few seconds when performed properly. A great example of this being used is Ripper's any% run:

Thanks for watching! The reason we climb this cliff face and before this Out of Bounds is because I do not have torch at this point in the run. To go through the “main way” I need torch to burn down the web. By performing this Out of Bounds, we are able to skip picking up torch and it saves more time in the long run. How you do youre first clip like rolling and jumping at the same time
This glitch is classed the Triple Jump. The simplest way to perform this glitch is to roll backwards, jam the control stick forward, and then let go of the roll button and press the jump button a few frames after moving the control sticks forward. It took me over an hour before I could get this glitch my first time, my best advice is to keep practicing and you'll be surprised how quickly you'll start to get this.

I think this is possible only on the gamecube version of the game
Are you on emulator? If so what one
This run is done on a Gamecube disc run on a Wii. The allowed version of emulator has slower load times making console the fastest platform for speedrunning.
@@JaymanW dolphin emulator slows down load times by default. you can change it to match the actual game
@@swath8733 a little late, but if you emulate the disc speed of the game itll actually run faster than the gamecube disc on wii emulator as itll emulate the read speeds from a wii, so it is banned in emulator speed runs of this game as it is unfair for those who actually have a wii and gamecube disc

The game is more realistic with these collision , it's better for the gameplay
