Picked one up at WMart a few days ago - I always pass through their tiny air supply section even if I’m not looking for anything, and saw Legacy w/ scope marked down about 25% (they appear to be clearing old stock for Spring - check your local). I have had Daisy 880 for a while, so that’s my closest comparison model. The scopes appear to be from the same manufacturer, similar quality to all the other $20 entry-levels. The quality on these vary widely, with blurry optics being the biggest gamble. I find the Legacy to be better without the scope (I never installed it) because of the pumping physics. The sight on this was very accurate otb, and although the appearance is tactical, it’s still the same basic Western rifle design. I’ve heard many comments on shooting BBs through a rifled barrel, so I’ve only shot pellets so far, and it handles everything in my collection of weights and tips. Best pellet seems to be the lightweight Gamo Lethal 4.5gr polymer ‘slugs’ - these things hit targets almost as fast as the trigger is pulled. Lethals are expensive, av .17 cent per shot. I always wondered how my steel BBs would have to pass through the barrel to cause damage to the rifling. My thoughts are that air gun manufactures believe that it is such a large number that it would constitute the lifetime of the air rifle.
@@rustbeltairgun8718 Interesting, I never thought to check manufacturers’ info. on the topic. The physics of rifling is indisputable (if you’ve ever played darts, you might know putting a spin on the dart will send it much straighter), so damaging this would in theory effect the pellet. One snide commenter to a blog said, “it’s only a -$100 gun, who cares?!” 😂 in a way they have a point, but the topic is interesting. BBs are probably more effected by the rifling, as they pass through the barrel, bumping the rifling rather than a smooth bore would cause them all kinds of issues.
People writing reviews in the Walmart review section for this gun have no idea how to use this thing. One even complained about the stock snapping off. It literally says “hold by receiver when pumping.” This is why video reviews are usually more trustworthy.
I don't think spray insulation will add much weight. I would suggest something heavier like sand packed very densely so as not to make any swishing noise. Make sure there is no openings or cracks in the stock before proceeding, as you don't want the sand to get into your air gun's mechanism.

I was thinking of filling the stock full of insulation to get rid of that cheap plastic sound.what do u think?

Prices on Amazon are volatile, they constantly change. Typically they drop as the product on Amazon matures.
