Andy, love your channel. This is exactly like the Sheridan Blue Streak (5mm) I purchased, as a young man, 40+ years ago, and still have , by the way. I will say that, after repeated use, it does get much easier to fill. (The gun doesn’t get easier, your arms get stronger and used to it). I used to throw 6 pumps in it in a heart beat. Now would be a different story. Good thing PCP’s came along.
One major difference between this and a springer is, there is NO recoil at all. If you are not fond of that springer jolt, this may be a consideration to try.

I had a Blue Streak 40 odd years ago & it had to go on an F.A.C. Great gun in its time but now with pre charge a bit obsolete. In those days it was hard to find 5mm pellets, & the Sheridan slugs in the yellow plastic containers were a fortune. And all that pumping!!, no chance at a second shot at a bunny unless it was deaf!!

Hi Andy, it's Andy here from South Africa. This rifle is sold here as a Artemis LR700W. I got one for my 13yr old son for his birthday a year back, he loves it. He puts pellets through the same hole at 15m regularly with open sights, and that is straight out of the box without adjustments!

Nigel, I love shooting metal silhouettes in my garage. But by keeping velocity down, I can keep pellets from slattering and making more of a mess. Pumpers are great for this, and most guns in .177 don't splatter the pellet until you get to 3 or 4 pumps, so a pumper is perfect. Also the paint of the silhouettes has no chance when you get to 4 or 5 pumps.

    • @briandix216

I can see this being more popular in America, as the multi pump pneumatic guns are just much more popular over there but most budget options are plastic and pot metal. Yes it isn't as practical as a springer, gas ram, c02 or pcp. But there are some people in the UK that love Crosman, Benjamin, Daisy or Sharp pump ups. So good on Stinger or whoever imports these for trying something different.

In 1995 I bought a Benjamin Pump in .22 as I thought it would be nice to have something with no spring. It needed 10 pumps, and you got 2 shots. One full power, and the other greatly reduced. It was better to fire the one shot, then top up with more pumps. The novelty quickly wore off, and it sat in my rifle rack for years with the occasional check to see if it was still working, or show someone it. In 2017 I gave it away for free. Don't miss it. You could get 5 shots plus out of a break barrel in the time it took to get the first one out of the Benjamin.

If you can brace the muzzle end against something, pumping will be easier and more controlled. I had a Sheridan blue streak 5mm as a young lad. I currently have a Crossman 22 of the same type. Sheridan made a scope mounting piece that clamps onto the rifled barrel but you have to be careful not to tighten it too much. Both the Sheridan and Crossman take up to eight pumps. The hard part is feeding pellets into the loading area ahead of the bolt. I invented a device, using a soft plastic sheet material, like that used for totes or a laundry basket, and holes cut with a ticket punch. The device is a centimeter wide and ten long with the punch holes on one edge. The holes are cut into make gaps with an exacto knife so that they will hold the pellets firmly. Then it is a simple task to place each round in the loading area, strip the pellet off with the bolt end and into the breach.

I own several pump guns from Sheridan, Benjamin and Crosman. There's nothing like a good pump gun for taking small game at short to medium range. Accuracy is unmatched at this price range. As a twelve year old with a Sheridan Blue Streak I built a ton of muscle that first summer and took a bunch of squirrel and rabbit for the gumbo pot. I still have that 1973 Blue Streak BTW, a few reseals along the way have kept it at peak power and accuracy. They really don't make them like that anymore. I'd buy one of these given the chance just to add it to my arsenal.

    That's a good looking rifle.
A Click making safety switch is heard at far distance in the quiet woods when hunting. But some can be switched almost silently by using a finger and thumb to hold both ends of the switch while moving it. .
Do you think it would be fun?
Would it be good for using with the whole family?

How far can you pump it up and to what power level. I assume there is a limit to 12ft/lbs for the UK and five pumps is pretty close!

Like the Sharps Inova & Ace back in the day , you are gripping it wrong to pump it you have to grip in front of the bolt over the stock and barrel while pumping. If you use a Scope use high mounts great little guns an accurate even with standard pinhole sights.Yes still got mine!

If it holds its air o.k. it would be fine on the maximum number of pumps for dispatching rabbits. There was no mention of a .177 being available though.

I just recently purchased an Umarex Synergis in .177 and with one "pump" it will throw a standard Crosman Premier Hollow Point 7.9 gn at mach one! You read that right. I assumed that the FPS on the box was for light alloy pellets. Nope! The first pull of the trigger cracked like a .22 LR and sent me scurrying back into the house. After I though it was clear, I put some 10.5 gn Ultra Magnums in and they were subsonic. Most powerful break barrel I now own!

Growing up in the late 60's, early 70's, even at 10\11 years old I liked playing with my action men\Gi, Joe's, and even better with air rifles, haha, a pile of chimney soot, which there was always plenty available when EVERY, House, home, businesses had coal fires and chimney sweeps just dumped the soot from the chimneys in bags, a pile of soot next to the action man makes good exploding effects when shot with the air rifle haha, I had lots of air rifles growing up,break barrel's,under, and side levers, and GREAT memories of growing up before the advent of home technology, gaming etc, I grew up playing knifie on rope swings, trying to stick the knife the furthest, on the tree or the ground etc, made our own bows and arrows, used bin lids as shields, and just had a great time growing up in the days of knowing what it was to WANT, unlike nowadays, but no matter how little we had, I always had an air rifle, was never really into pistols, especially the wee push down gats haha, stingy if you got shot with one, but, not in the same league as rifles, never had a pump action, but after watching you're review I wouldn't mind one if I was fit enough to go out and use it, even looks a lovely gun visually, and easy to pump, perfect for a young guy\girl, but not to shoot action men OR, Barbie dolls haha, brilliant and informative review as always ANDY.

This may be a silly question but here we go.
Would this air rifle be good for a bell target starter rifle in 177 just using two pumps to get around 5 to Six foot pounds.
Or would a HW 30 springer be a better option?

Wonder if crosman mounts would fit further down the barrel for a red dot.....makes it easy to pump my sheridan c and shoot lots without tiring but .20 calibre pellets are expensive and hard to get a variety of types(i settled on bisley superfields 35 years ago)🔫👍

Some will love it but I have a MPP pistol, but it got old fast.
You can get that accuracy with the Chinese Gamo Hunter 440 Clones for less effort and if you want different power levels you can buy two of them for that and cut the spring and stock down on one for the kids to use, or at least that's what I did 🤣
If you want a budget PCP there are plenty of inexpensive ones about and a separate stirrip pump let's you get your pumping done for 50 shots then go for a cup of Tea while you let your heart rate settle again.

Someone made one, can't remember the make. You could use a tank to fill it but then add pressure with a side-lever. Maybe FX or Diana? Didn't catch on, the combined weight of a cylinder plus the side-action was huge, weighed 8 kilos or something.

I have a pcp and a springer, This needs 5 pump strokes for only 16,1 joule (or so) my springer is hard to cock, but i can do it all day long, especially if i switch arm every time, it also cocks the trigger mechanism. With just one move it's charged up for a 40 joule shot, that's much more efficient than 5 pumps for 16,1 joule, especially if it's hard at the first pump and get's harder with every pump. if i want a "recoilless" shot, i use the pcp, but sometimes a springer is more fun, because it's harder to shoot precise with it. i have no need for a multipump airgun
