Was there July 2012. The storms amazed me as they so boring in the UK. Was dancing in the rain first day I arrive and still warm. Loved it. Can't wait to return once my unborn child turns 5/6
Beautiful piece. I love the combination of happy yet destructive captured here. At 1:19, was a very interesting flash, lighting up the building with the behind strike, and the glory of that strike at 1:41 was amazing. Very appealing video all the way around.
Fun fact Disney world has lightning rods hidden in the designs of many of its buildings and attractions to try and make sure guest don’t get struck by lightning that’s why you can see space mountain get struck twice
uhhhhh, did lightning just strike the same place twice?! nothing like storms at disney world. so much fun. we were in the pirates que when a storm like this hit and the whole gift show was flooded. literaly to the calf muscles.
I just watched your video, and someone mentioned this one in the comments. You both got some amazing footage! I realized that I had never actually experienced a thunderstorm until I experienced one in the great state of Florida, ( I'm from Maine). LOL, the thunder alone nearly knocked me off my feet!
For those of you out there unaware of the storm coming your way here’s the tip if you see the storm coming no problem go for the exit of the park or take to the shelter if you feel the sprinkle of rain
Thanks! The storm was intense and I am also glad that someone else also put footage of it on youtube so that I could see it from another perspective! :)
Great video... especially the lightning strike around the 1:44 mark. I was there that night too on holidays from Australia. I love storms and was hoping to see a good one while I was in Orlando and this storm was by far the highlight! If you are interested, I have just posted my own video of the storm as well (filmed from outside the castle and Main St)... I have sent it to you as a video response... hope you enjoy it!
I remember a storm like this back in '07. My family and I were "enjoying" a Loo-ow at the Polynesian resort, when the storm started. The power went out, kids were screaming and we ended up having to evacuate. And later on some other guests said they saw "ball lightning" strike the Loo-Ow pavilion multiple times. (About 3 or 4 times).
Every time I come here during July that’s when I get caught in the thunderstorm particularly if the temperature gets too high and will be too much for the clouds in the sky and that can spark the lightning bolt in the air shooting from the sky
@ScottWhiley's rail and air productions that thunderstorm in Central Florida reminded of the June 11th 2009 severe thunderstorm moved into Dallas Texas and very LOUD thunder move into downtown Dallas just like not always typical in September in Central Florida because parts of my county seen two in a half inches of rain in Dallas Texas seen a lot of rain in just one night just like Central Florida because that lightning strike was very very close overlooking Cinderella's castle in Disney magic kingdom Park in Orlando FL because that thunderstorm in Central Florida reminded of me the Dallas Texas thunderstorm on June 11th 2009 it first moved into downtown Dallas and moved into my home because it was very bad
Unfortunately as of today toontown is no longer here at the magic kingdom because this area has been taken over by the storybook circus and the extension of fantasyland
The sunshine state is also the lightning state.

0:25 that lady looked like she was getting ready to fire a shotgun while recording the lightning XD
Actually that’s a camera she’s holding mate not a shotgun they would have banned her from coming here if she has a weapon on her
Hhaha right!!! Karen getting her shot
Exactly Nikki
@@thebrummierailenthusiasts5329 They never said she had a shotgun. It was just a metaphor.

@Hypnotoad27 they closed all the outdoor rides, we went to go on Splash Mountain and just as we were about to get on they closed it.
I was there in 2010 and we never had one storm for the whole two weeks! this happened like 3 days after we went home :(
Awesome video! We rarely get a storm like this here california.
That’s right
Thanks! The storm was intense and I am also glad that someone else also put footage of it on youtube so that I could see it from another perspective! :)

Look at the lightning bolt shooting down from the sky
I love to be on the people mover at this time of the storm
I am surprised that more people are not reported being struck by lightning in Disney

Heavy Thunderstorms And Heavy Rain.
Mother Nature’s Light Show
I went there in 2011 with my family and there was a storm almost every night.
If I lived in Florida, I couldn't last a week with all the storms there.

And it was back in 2010?
I wish I was there, even in these conditions.

Are the Cast Members staring into space? They should be corraling park guests into buildings to keep them safe!!
Well, at least there’s no line for the rides
