Many years ago my good friend & her husband were on vacation at Disney rode out a hurricane at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. She called to let me know she ok & but her husband was on the balcony trying to film the hurricane. This was in the day of VHS cameras (he was a videographer). He had tethered himself to the rail & she wanted my husband to convince him to come inside. My husband was unsuccessful (he encouraged him to film more). Her husband got some great footage though. Incredible savings on that buffet at Chef Mickey's. Too bad it takes a terrible hurricane for Disney to give a good deal like that because $60 for a buffet is insanely expensive.

Good choice of a place to ride out the storm. Disney tries their best to keep their guests as comfortable as can possibly be to try to keep their minds off of what’s happening outside. Glad you’re safe and your parents found a safe place to ride the storm out also.
In 2005 I was working the Disney internship and hurricane Wilma came through. The parks were only closed for half a day since the storm came through late the night before. I just remember how it mostly rained and there was wind, but nothing too bad. But one thing that fascinated me most was how much cooler the air felt after Wilma left. It had been so hot and humid and after that, everything cooled down, it was nice. Anyway, this was a nice perspective of things, hoping everyone else made it out okay.
My family took refuge at WDW after Wilma in 2005. Stayed 2 weeks at the Pop Century until the power got restored back home in South Florida, thank goodness they had accommodations and weren't filled with rubber necking vloggers. Great cast members at the hotel hosted a nice impromptu Halloween night for my kid.
@@stifledvoice Oh yeah I forgot that South Florida had no power for a while. I don't think I did though because my schedule was kind of all over the place.

I'm a big ATW fan as well as my granddaughter Stephanie. We are both extremely disappointed in the rush back for an Epcot milestone and to vlog for posterity during the Hurricane. Thinking of all the people who are affected by the storm. Also, to the first responders that have to work in the elements.
How is it a rush back when he has had this planned for months? Also, this is just my opinion, but I would fly back to be near my elderly parents if I could.
I can understand that to some degree but keep in mind I had this planned for while and felt safer her than in my celebration spot
He didn’t “rush back”🙄
Get a grip Ronnie and find someone else to ridicule…. Geez…..🙄
Holy crap. I’ve never seen MK so quiet. No people. No music. That is eerie.
Good choice of a place to ride out the storm. Disney tries their best to keep their guests as comfortable as can possibly be to try to keep their minds off of what’s happening outside. Glad you’re safe and your parents found a safe place to ride the storm out also.
Adam you're the best.
My grandparents had a business down in Palm Beach during that time and my grandmother called me up a few days after the storm saying she had enough of no power and was at the house in Mount Dora and I was welcome to stop by. I don't think I did though because my schedule was kind of all over the place.
My son also named Ian told me about the hurricane. I'm hopeful that your weekend will include lots of visits with the other guests. Have fun.
Love your upbeat videos! I think you'll be pretty safe at Walt Disney World. Hopefully you will all be able to help the unfortunate when the storm goes by!
Glad to hear your safe, was waiting for another vlog .I think you had us all on the edge of our seats.. 🫶✌️
Glad all is well. Thank you for taking time to upload. I know some UA-camrs do not have power. Appreciated👍
Adam why didn't you stay with your parents?!
They stayed at a friends house
I did the storm in Tampa FL power went out Wednesday 4;30 IN THE AFTERNOON WEDNESDAY DIDN'T GET POWER BACK UNTIL 5 PM FRIDAY, HAD TO THROW EVERYTHING OUT IN THE FRIG AND FREEZER AND NOT MUCH IN THE GROCERY STORE
Glad too see that things are getting better...😎Morning Woo, Rad spot to ride out the Storm, very cool u got to document this.."Best Remove em" at its finest🤣
FYI: It was 1 MPH less than a CAT 5 when it hit landfall. It was wind of 80 - 90 mph as it went through us in Valrico! Truly scary as we were praying our roof and siding would stay attached to the house. We had three neighbors lose their roofs!
That was an awesome video, Adam!!! Very interesting to see that Disney has put all their own power grids underground to help insure it stays on during a hurricane, as well as knowing the Contemporary is actually hurricane approved!!!! You certainly were very smart choosing to ride out Ian there,!!! And Disney is really stepping up by comping your coffees n discount slashing your dinners and paying n housing the employees. Truly a very benevolent company, which is rare in this day and age!!! Glad you are safe n have a friend there with you n praying for your parents n family n your apt. To be okay afterwards!!! Thanks for the continued coverage!!! Attaboy Deluxe, Adam the Woo;!!;
I luv that if your hip enough you can call it Poly... Aloha! ☔along came🌂👥 rain dance!! Onion Rings & Mustered "heck yeah shoots"
What a Trooper, Hunkered down in a Disney First Class Hotel!!! Hope your Room Service was cooked to your liking! We the people in Florida admire your Courage!!! Next video could be you and your young friend from California in South Florida or Saint Augustine showing the Devastation!
Good to see you made it through ok. I'm looking at the satellite map on my phone around noon Thursday on West coast and it looks like most of it is in the Atlantic Ocean now. That run to your room was crazy!
Adam, thanks for keeping all of your viewers aware of what's going on directly thru your eyes. Stay safe and we will see you when it's all clear 🗽🗽
Thank you Scott
@@TheDailyWoo Adam are the Villages being affected badly ?
