- My latest acquisition has presented a unique opportunity to compare and contrast multiple generations of Plymouth Barracuda. So… let’s do that!

I agree, first gen barracudas look great. Very individual, and rare.
I've only had 3 a 1968 notch back,318, 904, a 1972 340 4 speed Cuda, it was the funest with 3:91 gears! And a 1973 Cuda 340, 727, 3:23 gears, it was a fun car, lemon twist yellow, black vinal top, white interior but out of the 3 the 72 was the best runner even though it was gold and primer! Great informative video!👍
My first car was a 66 barracuda. 273 2brl 904 auto. Miss that thing so bad
I like that Dart front clip. Cool.
Had a1970 Barracuda in high school. It only had a 318 with a 2 barrel carb. I remember riding around with the air cleaner lid upside down thinking it would sound like a 4 barrel or give me more hp but it didn't work. Man I miss that car.
That’s awesome. Nothing wrong with a good 318! I love them. My E body experience was a ‘73 Challenger Rallye with the original 340 swapped for a kinda weird running 400. It was a fun car, but I never quite figured out why it was possessed.
I’m a fan of the 1st gen. I learned to drive a stick in a 65 barracuda 273 4spd. Great video!
My first car purchase in 1976. 69’ Barracuda 318 2bbl 4 speed. Black interior, natural two tone gold with the obligatory Chicago deep rust tones in all the right lower fender areas. I learned a lot! Dad whispered offer him $400.00 and hold. Guy said no thanks. Dad gave me a little head shake and we went home. It was the 3rd and best car we looked at. I was so disappointed. Our phone rang at dinner time. Dad drive me back and I handed the guy 4large paper route earned bills. The Cuda’ was one of my many favorites. Dad was a true favorite as he taught me so many life lessons.
I love your channel! Excellent topics. Great laid back, pragmatic style and smart as heck.. I now want a c-body.. I’m looking at a 67’ sport fury, convertible w-283 Commando. So many great mopars out there...
Thanks! I appreciate it. A Commando in a C body?! I didn’t know they did that. That’s cool.
The one on the trailer kind of resembles your yellow charger from the side 😁 I had to search up an E body and I was impressed!
Barracuda information was on point.
A Body's to the front...
Damn right son! Also, before you ask… no you can’t have it
Your Barracudas have the same lack of a driver's floorboard as the Valiant I just bought. I have no idea where it went but the copious amounts of clear silicon smeared around the windshield may be a clue as to how it got there. This is my first Mopar car and I do admire the amount of room that the Hillside Hemi leaves in the engine bay.
There’s almost room for a whole other one in there! I’m really excited to put a slant in the ‘67. It’s been a long time since I had an operational slant car.
All Valiants have no floorboards! My 64 also has no spare tire well in the trunk. Neat! Easy fixes though.
I love the first gen Barracuda. Those rear wheel wells...well I ignore that.
Haaahaha. Air shocks fix it.
I think every first gen Barracuda comes with a spare rear window.
Or two!
I agree with you that the ‘67 Barracuda FASTBACK is the best looking of all the Barracudas. To me, it is the most beautiful car ever made, period. That is the year they went with “Italian” styling, and I think it is perfect.
Yes!
There's an early Barracuda here in town that's been sitting for years, been meaning to ask the guy about it. I should get on that one of these days.
Good video.
Just subscribed.
Thank you.
Yea the 1967 fastback Barracuda is my favorite year for the second gen cars it's great with no side markers and no reverse lights in the taillights it's a killer looking car
Good looking cars in my opinion
Completely agree.
Finally, you get the only attractive 1960's Dodge
And it’s a Plymouth. Lol
@@DeadDodgeGarageOnly a pedant would care about the difference between a Dodge and a Plymouth. Course that explains you and your viewers😄
One day you will have to release those Barracudas back into the sea.
🥲 let us hope that day doesn’t come for some time
I put a 67 Barracuda fast back back window into the hood of my 68 Charger
😮
You are correct, the FB is DEFINITELY the better body style.
I just helped a buddy out towing his rag top to a different location!
I got a vid on my channel if your interested
I've got a front bumper with the brackets from a 69 if you need it. Nice shape
Yes! Where are you at?! Email me at jamienoise@gmail.com
@@DeadDodgeGarageI'm north of Ottawa, Canada. Just figured out you're in Washington state, not exactly around the corner but I've shipped bigger items to further distances. I mainly do b bodies but I do have some parts around for that barracuda. If you can't find anything closer let me know and il email you my info. Always happy to help get another old car back on the pavement!
@@DumPhuc that would be awesome. I really need a hood, a grille surround and grilles, lower front valence, and the bumper stuff. You know, all small, easily shipped stuff 😅 if you’re willing to sell reasonably and ship shoot me an email! Thanks.
You appear to be a fellow Washingtonian as well as a Mopar lover. I have a 68 Cuda (as well as a 73, 70 Challenger, 70 RR, 71 charger, etc). Anyway, like the video.
Nice! Yep, I’m in Grays Harbor actually.
@@DeadDodgeGarage Thats awesome, I am over in Yelm
I also like the 67 to 69 barracudas and I’d really like it to be a manual.
My friend had a '64 1/2 Formula S, but my favorite gen Barracuda is '67-'69 (yes, FASTBACK). Even cuter than the later E-bodies.
Awesome! Yes I completely agree. I love the fastback ‘67. I love the ‘66 too, but the other one is my favorite Barracuda by far. E bodies are gray and all… haha.
I agree completely
There is something about the second gen Barracudas i like. I knew a guy a long time ago who 2 of them a fast back and a coup and both were good running cars not show cars and he wanted to trade me one of them for my 67 Camaro and to this day i could kick myself for not doing. It would be cool to see you get one of those running.
It’s going to happen! The ‘66 ate a cam lobe last year. This will be the third rebuild 360 so far 😅 and the ‘67, well… I don’t want to make any promises, but let’s just say it might drive soon.
67-69 fastback for the win! Lol
Yesssss. My people!
i like the fast back but i think it would look better with a bit longer front
Interesting thought.
@@DeadDodgeGarage to me it just feels to short in the front it just sorta feels unbalanced with the back being so long and a small front i think it would look a bit better with a foot more of nose but welp that would be a pain to do. but when i see the back it makes me thing it sould be a longer car or bigger fat tires in back to give it a bit of a raked stance like how some of the dragsters did it
I prefer the 65 mostly because it's the one I've had for 25 years. Me and my son just started working on it. After my wife passed away. If I could just figure out how 2 get the big Chrysler 400 to fit with a transmission. That won't grenade on me.
Dang. It can be done… but it’s not easy or fun getting the big block to fit.
I think that the 64-66 A-bodies have slightly smaller engine bays also don't they? I might be wrong though. I think that beginning in 67 Chrysler was planning on putting the big block in the A-body, yep, more room for bigger engine is always a good thing.
Yes they do. They widened the engine compartment (and front frame rails - not rears though) in ‘67 so big blocks would fit. I think it’s a 2” difference. Something like that.
@@DeadDodgeGarage Oh really? I didn't know they left the rear frame rails the same width... Then that means more room for bigger rear tires, win win. Makes me want one even more now.
Mmmmm barracuda
I'm looking at them with mechanic vision cream puffs both of them nothing that a few turns of a screw driver couldn't take care of
I’m high on drugs and I love that car.
You’re long overdue to have a Barracuda!
@@DeadDodgeGarage let’s pop a Prius power train in that bad boy!!
@@UryneCayne how about a nissan Leaf powertrain?
@@scottprato7800 is that one of them electric things? Cause I’m hella down!
Any of them for sale willing to buy or trade if you'll consider letting one go
Not any time soon…
I keep me in mind if you ever change your mind I have 72 demon with lots of upgrades and a 72 dart swinger with a mild built LA 360 and 727 and it's actually been my daily driver since April and I'm currently working on my 67 GTS dart it has brand new 5.9 magnum and 727 but bout to put a 5 speed in it just because it's was a original 4 speed car mini tubed the right way with Moser 8 3/4 rear but really looking hard for a 64 to 69 cuda to trade for or sale one or 2 and just buy one but thanks for responding ever need any a body parts I have tons of stuff and sorry for long message
Not into the 1st and 2nd gen barracudas. You can have all of them. Enjoy.
Don’t mind if I do!
Stop trying to copy vice grip garage, from the hand gestures to the speech pattern you’re a ripoff !
Hi! If I say sparkalators or lighting cube on video some day, you have my permission to come shoot me. But here’s the thing dude. I AM copying someone, but it’s not Vice Grip Garage. My show is intended to be AvE with cars. Have you noticed that I’m always behind the camera, unlike Derek? Unfortunately I still talk the way I talk. Further complaints are that I have a beard, wear flannels and hats, and attempt humor at times. So yeah, it’s easy to make the comparison, and many people have.
Very early on in the channel, a friend’s girlfriend said that it was very funny when I pointed to things from behind the camera - so I kept doing it. It’s not my fault that Derek also does that.
I like the Notch-back '67 Barracuda and owned several of them (1st one I had was stolen in Jonesboro, Ga in 1982 and 2nd one I had while I lived in Rockwood, Tn in 1987) and would love to find another one but I also appreciate the fast back and 1st Gen ones and although I also appreciate the '70-'74 Barracuda and 'cuda I never really liked them!! I also LOVE the '70-'72 Duster's and Demon's and had more than a few of them both and I'd take a '73-'76 if I had to but I'd prefer the early ones!! I love all things MOPAR and I've enjoyed watching your videos and will watch as you post more.......MOPER or NO CAR!!
Wow. I haven’t had any a bodies stolen… yet… obviously I prefer the early cars too, but even late cars are looking pretty good these days. Thanks for watching!
