My boyfriend Joe and I rented a 40 sqm apartment in Hangzhou, China two months ago.
Due to Coronavirus the apartment was left empty for 6 weeks. We only got to go back half a month ago to finish the apartment decoration. Now it's finally done! We are officially settled down. The style is modern and minimalist.

The total budget is around $300 (including the $185 IKEA sofa)!
I bought most of the decorations on Taobao, which is Chinese Amazon. We also reused our Hong Kong apartment decor. I probably will bring all the things to our next apartment. We are economical.

I would removed and moved things around like the kitchen table near the actual kitchen and the bed and the couch totally has pontetial remove items from the sink move the microwave on top of the fridge if it has no use But loooks better than it was
Such a cute video! I really enjoyed watching this! My boyfriend and I just moved so we are getting everything set up. Won't be able to get a couch though until everything with the coronavirus is over!

We still stay most time indoor so need to make the place look nicer :) I didn't expect the situation to go this way... Finger crossed that everything calms down and gets better soon!

Hi, thanks for the video. How they rent apartment in Hangzhou? Do they charge the rent by person? For example, If I want to rent a small apartment for 2300 yuan/month and it is for me and my wife, will the landlord increase the renting? Also, do you recommend any safe website for apartment search in Hangzhou. I am still abroad but plan to go in a near future for my PhD. Thanks
