Joe and I decided to leave Hong Kong permanently and move to mainland China. In September 2019 when Hong Kong was going through some turmoil we packed and boarded the plane. We traveled for some time and finally in January 2020 we started the move to Hangzhou, Zhejiang.
It was not easy to find a perfect flat but we made it in one day. I did a tour in this video to show you its original look. It will be followed by an apartment makeover later. Stay tuned!
The 40 sqm flat costs 500 USD for a monthly rent which is much cheaper than Joe's 13 sqm 1000 USD flat in Hong Kong. This is part of the reason we made the decision to move.
PS: As I am posting this video, China, including Hangzhou and my hometown is combating the coronavirus. It is a hard time. There are people fighting at the frontline day and night. There are also people putting on masks spreading rumors and hates. But I hold the belief that with all the good efforts we put in, soon all the bad will go away.
Wish everyone safe and sound in this battle.

It brought a tear to my eye at the end when you mentioned the start of the pandemic. I can't believe we are still in it and I hope you and your families are well. 🤗
God bless you too 🐁
It is so strange to see Hangzhou 2020... compared to when I lived there in 1986. The only things I recognize are West Lake and BaoChuShan! In those days the tallest building in China was the 11 story "White Swan Hotel" in Guangzhou. Can you imagine?!! In Shanghai, the Bund had some 8 story buildings built by foreigners in the early 1900s... in Hangzhou, nothing was taller than 4 stories. The streets were filled with bicycles, and you could ride across the whole city in about 45 minutes.
I know it’s interesting 🐁
I used to live in Vietnam as well and I am curious how it will look like and how people will react when they see me in Vietnam 🐡
Can’t wait to see how you decorated it. I’m binge watching lol
it's a very nice little place! It does remind me of an old hotel building they changed into apartments! I love that balcony too!
Omg I support yall 100%, yall seem so mature❤
You're so sweet ❤ Thank you!
I love your energy! Just subscribed!Hope the both of you are safe over there in China. xoxo from Malaysia🇲🇾
That's so sweet of you! Wish you all the best ♡
Love the content
Thanks :)
Stay safe guys! That virus looks quite concerning from here in NZ
We are fine :D As long as we protect ourselves I'm sure it will keep away from us!
yep... it turned out way worse than expected...
Stay safe 🙏🏼 I miss Hangzhou
Thank you! We will :)
I am jealous! I live in San Francisco in an in-law unit studio that is about 300 sq. ft, my rent is $1800 with utility is about $2000.
The government needs to deal about the rent price crisis 🐁
Wow! So active!
Hope you can return soon.
Your home is spacious
It's about 430 sq ft.
Congratulations! Is that a UFO @5:14 ? I love these videos! Is it loud in these housing areas?
May I know which district in Hangzhou is this? Moving to Hangzhou soon and looking for some information. Thanks!
I hope China gets rid of the corona virus🙏
Thank you :) I believe we will make it!
I love her sense of humor lol 😂
"Reduce the embarrassment of the bladder shyness" 😂😂😂
Also, @5:14 what's the deal with the UFO?!?!?!?!?!
So,how's life on the mainland vs HK life? I hear mainland is much different than HK
Pretty nice home. I'm an engineer and code in finance and banking. Can do data science too. Not doing systems developers work, I'm doing the math problems only. Do you guys know if China is a worth try for me?
Unfortunately I'm not in that area so I can't give a firm answer. But your expertise sounds to me very sought-after! Maybe you can try connecting to people working in the field and I bet they would know better than me!
God bless the world 🐁
You are so brave and genuine! How do you find the banning of most western social medias in mainland?
Most people are quite used to this situation and we have well developed self entertaining media. I personally would like to be connected to the western world.
seeing you two together reminds me of how happy my wife an I are exploring and living the life in China
Hangzhou! Technically you are closer to Shanghai than HK.
Yes it's only a one-hour speed train ride to Shanghai :)
DongDong Wu I also found out Alibaba has its HQ there in Hangzhou.
@@flip1sba You're right! Hangzhou is very Alibaba influenced. E-commerce is getting mature here.
my first thought is that i'm hoping for a miracle that gets rid of this nasty virus and i hope your parents make it thru this situation. but not to put a damper on you guys, here's some other comments. Joe should get the chair in the kitchen. Dong Dong lost so much weight and reduced her intake so much that she won't be eating much anyway...lol. Next, go ahead, create a baby, you'd make a good mother and father because you are both able to actually think. (not a common thing these days) congratulations on your new apartment, i'll be interested in how you change it.
I hope this virus situation turns around soon too.. Haha we did get another chair! It's Chinese new year and we're staying with my mom so I actually eat a lot - she feeds us too much food.. Not like me, I'm not sure if I'm able to feed my baby (if any) enough 😂
