Great find, model Ts are a lot of fun! The body is older than 26, mid 23 and older had wooden firewalls. 26 and 27 had doors on both sides and a taller cowl (however early Canadian Ts had doors on both sides) 1919 was the first year for electric start, but the coil box is 26-27 so it may have a later engine too. Im looking forward to seeing you bring it back to life. Ps. The E brake should be vertical for neutral, all the way forward is high gear.

It's earlier than a 1926. (1920ish) For the future, try and use nylon straps at the frame points and try to put it neutral if possible. 1926 has has fuel tank under the dash with a cowling top fuel entrance. Parking brake at the rear is a brake, middle is neutral, full fwd is high gear. Nice find!

  • @DAquingil

Jonathan, your Model T looks great. I have a 26, and I can tell you right off that yours is an earlier model. Twenty six was the first year to have a driver’s door. Since your’s doesn’t it’s older. Twenty Sixes also have the gas tank under the cowl and a rectangular flap/door on top of the cowl to access the gas cap. I wish you the best of luck as you restore this wonderful piece of Americana.

What a hell of a find! On both cars. My luck would never be this good. A Model A is a bucket list thing for me. On the T: The three pedals on the floor of the Model T were for the brake on the right, reverse in the middle to make the Model T go backwards, and a pedal on the left to shift the gears from low to high speed. A lever on the floor worked the brakes as well as the clutch. Looking forward to the rest of the videos Jonathan. And kicking the habit will keep you around a heck of a lot longer. You can do it!

Nice find Jon. Great to have found one relatively complete like that. A proper T guy could date it, but I can say it's earlier than 26/27. Some people use vintage speed equipment to pep 'em up a bit.

Nice find! I've driven a '13 T four-seater for a local museum. The controls are unlike anything else I've driven but not too bad once you've done it a few times. Takes a little screwing around to start it, and with the hand crank, you don't want to get it wrong and flood it or you'll be at it all day. Good luck on the motor, hopefully most if it's there. And yes, if I remember right those saddle-looking brackets are to hold the convertible top frame when it's folded down.

  • @nightly82

I love what you do. And love your latest "find" cars! I agree with others, the roadster is probably between 24 and 26 with an electric start. The far left peddle is the "gears" High and Low. You have to hold it in the middle, (with your left foot) for neutral. As you drive you push in to start out to drive in low, then as you speed up, you let it "fall" back down to high.. Then you hold it in the middle, (Neutral) and step on the middle peddle, with your right foot to go in reverse. Then you would again hold the left peddle in the middle, (Neutral) and step on the far right peddle for your brake. The gas or throttle, is the lever on the right side of the steering column. The spark advance is the lever on the left side of the steering wheel, and it needs to be advanced, "up" as you speed up. By today's standards, it's very difficult to drive. But once you get the hang of it, it's fun.... Good luck. I'm jealous.

id say that is a 1926 t. you can tell by the fact that the buzz coil box is mounted in the engine bay. 1925 and older t's had the coils under the dash against the firewall. also 26 was the last year for wood wheels. in 27 ford started the metal spoke rims. also 1919 was the first year for electric start and electric headlights.

Great find on the cars. An idea on 'your not smoking tension' that I used years ago while trying to quit for the 5th time. Cinnamon is available as rolled up cinnamon bark instead of ground.. Exact same size as cigarette and offers resistance to being sucked on, can be chewed on as well like a small cigar. Relieves a lot of the wanting to reach for the cigs.

Great video as usual Jonathan.I also liked watching the tractor video, the one with the Dodge emblem in chrome that was wrapped around the front of it. I think it was a Woodworth or some sort of brand like that. A tractor that would go 47 miles an hour sounds pretty bad ass and quite dangerous for that model. That was one of your greatest starts ever, but then you start engines as if you have oil in your veins.

A 26 or 27 Split rims with four bolt tires. If it has vapor Carb it's at least a 26. They all had 1 door. Cowl vents and side lights are add-ons. No shifter. The accelerator and spark advance is on the steering wheel. The three pedals are l-r High-low clutch, reverse, and brake(on the transmission). The transmission is band brake engaged the precursor to todays automatics. The hand brake works the rear wheel brakes and holds the car in neutral. BTW if the rear or driveshaft breaks the car won't stop. Only the hand brake may stop it.
The things on the upper rear of the body are the top irons to store the folded top. Nice find.

Good looking T model you found. It is a 17- early 23 with the wood firewall. 26/27 had the tall trunk, like model A Ford ,not the turtledeck . Cars like yours with two doors were made in Canada, all 26/27s had two doors.. Have fun learning to drive Miz Lizzy !

Nice catch on the Model T, but you are taking the Triumph too ... That T was someone's run around car. Red wheels and red block, red interior - screams old school souped-up Model T with down draft carb, etc. Could be a lot of fun. You gotta build the engine anyway, so why not :-D

I put together a 21 from a pile of parts , the slightly raked windshield is 23 and later .... the lever is rear drum brake and low and hi gear , also left pedal pushed down is low gear let off hi gear , the other 2 pedals are brakes inside the trans ,and reverse I forget which is what . Throttle is one of the levers on steering colum and the other is timing ... super nice find that thing is all there looks like . Model T club of America is a really good forum for info on the T ...

  • @bobmarker6812
    @bobmarker6812 4 роки тому

You really scored with this one! I think one reason the "T" is in such good shape is that they used Vanadium steel in their bodies. The earlier turtle decks opened from the rear and later ones from the top.

I thought Noah might have been tempted by the Spitfire - basically just a Triumph Herald in a party frock but a cheap little sportscar nonetheless.

Noah doesn't seem like the British car type. He is a pickup loud exhaust guy

@@aliceshaw8265 Yeah, but it's a '79 or '80, with those ugly rubber bumpers, and the '80 was the heaviest year of the run. Still, hate to see it rotting down like that.

@@g0fvt Yep it is indeed a Mk4 or a 1500. Sitting that low in the leaves it probably now has no floor and on opening the doors you would be unable to close them again. Walk away from it...!

I love that Turtledeck T. Ive been keeping a eye out for a Model T myself. Ive wanted one since I was a kid. I dont want to restore one . I hope to find one in decent original condition and just maintain and preserve it . But there hard to find in original condition out here on the left coast. I rode in one once in the 2nd or 3rd grade and that was all it took.

This second car is also removed before the shed collapses. Very nice. A lot of folks might be interested in that Triumph, if it's available.
