I think it’s really interesting to see how the male/female/non-binary/etc ratios are between different systems. My system that I know of is mostly guys, and we had a non-binary fragment who we *think* integrated with me and our internal helper/protector, and I started identifying as non-binary/queer.
Yea, I find my gender and sexuality is usually influenced by all the parts that went into me. Not in a predictable way though. If fused recently and now I'm ace but I am also got my femininity from the other part. Idk? Systems be weird.
I was so suprised because this, They are ton of girls in a female body.
We have 4 males (include me too), 1 female (Core), 1 Transgender woman, 2 non-binary in a woman body.
The Ring System really surprised me and I am in a shock🤣🤣🤣
It was cool learning more about the Rings System! Adding new system overviews without removing the older ones, could be a cool way to represent the growth in the system. Thanks for another great video!

Technically everyone here except for Rose and Christine have been around and identified since when we started filming here - the problem is, there’s really only a few of us who are invested in the channel, and some of the others are only tangentially interested - thus, they haven’t filmed the long versions yet 😂😂

I'm always amazed at how you speak so freely about it. I keep most of my Self a secret from my husband and kids. Now they have told me they have met part of me and wishes she would come out more. But I keep everything hidden. Because my Self has kept me safe from life and I feel if I discuss it, they'll go away and I'll be alone.

We're working towards eventually becoming Activists (tm) and giving workshops about this subject - we're open about being a system in most of our daily life to try to expose other people to the idea. I'm not gonna lie, it's extremely terrifying, but I can assure you that your parts wont leave you if you decide to talk about them. If it helps, you can always ask your other parts if they would feel safe if you talked about them?

I'm 15 years old and have been dealing with "people that live in my head" since I was 13. It started out with one voice. A girl probably 17 years old. Her name is Rachel. (the only name I know of in my "system") She would tell me that I should die, jump off a bridge, starve myself because I'm fat, etc. Everything she says is very negative about me. I had a suicide attempt 1 month ago because she convinced me to sneak out of bed and hurt myself. (when I was already on a safety plan by my current therapist) Since then I have had more and more voices that I have conversations with multiple times a day. Most of them are little girls from 5-7 years old. A couple of them are much much older like the mid-20s who are really calm and tell me things are going to be OK. Sometimes a lot of us are having a conversation at the same time! (which is hard when I'm trying to go to sleep) I sense myself not being myself and acting like (sometimes talking like) a 5-year-old. (which happened at my school one time. It was sooooo embarrassing.) 2 nights ago I was lying awake in bed and all of a sudden I sit up and I start talking to my mom. But I couldn't hear my voice and I wasn't in control. All I could do was see what was going on. Is there a possibility I have alters/parts of me? I feel like I wouldn't have it because I don't have any extreme abuse history. Interestingly enough, I don't remember anything from when I was 11 or younger. Also, I opened up to my old therapist about all of this and she basically said that I'm faking all of it!!! I'm embarrassed and looking for answers. I don't want to be wrong because then I'll be stupid. Do you have any tips? Thank you for reading. Any reply is appreciated.
Yes, what you're describing lines up with dissociative symptomology - and I would highly recommend seeing a professional for their opinion!
Also, I don't remember any trauma that I went through - and might never remember it. That's ok! What matters at the end of the day is that you are experiencing symptoms. :)
Also! If your therapist said that right after you opened up that's a HUGE red flag!! (Or at all!! If a therapist said your straight out faking symptoms that's a HUGE red flag that they're not good! A good therapist might say "those symptoms align with something else" but no therapist should ever say you're faking or making up symptoms!) I wouldn't trust her opinion. I have a new video coming out about therapists and talking about questioning DID/OSDD soon, so I'd keep an eye out for that :)

Omg, dude, my heart just exploded when you said that you have an alter that is basically emotionless. We got one too, that’s so cool the hear someone else with an alter like that.

I'm glad to get to learn about another system. I was thinking of doing a system overview video for us as my first video on the subject of OSDD but maybe I should stick to something simpler if my headmates are uncomfortable with that idea. Nice to meet you

Thank you for sharing this overview of your system so openly like if it is not any different than talking about any other subjects that help understand what is important to a person, like hobbies, books, school or work, friends... I believe normalizing talking about system matters can help other systems to see, that it's ok to accept themselves. (Things I feel I need to learn and your matter-of-fact attitude to the subjects you talk about helps me reconsider my position on many things.

Again so helpful. I will have to go through an exercice of journalling my alters roles, personality traits, etc. It is interesting that we both have alters named Rose and Lily, although mine have very different personalities than yours. My Lily is very fun and promiscuous. Whereas Rose is in her 80s and very tired. She feels we have lived a full life and is ready to move on. She often keeps me in bed.

I think it’s pretty cool to know a little bit about other system’s alters. Especially when it comes to OSDD, as DID systems are the ones I find most.
Edit: I completely forgot to ask, so I’m just adding this now: Are you okay to drive with OSDD? I know that there are people who can’t drive with DID who can’t drive because of dissociation and flashbacks. I’d just like to see how some other people handle this.
Yes, we drive and have our license!
It’s less Bc of OSDD vs DID, and more that our system has internal safety measures in place just in case something happens during driving. We also try to be super careful about when, with who, and where we drive when we do!

We're self-diagnosed as OSDD1b, but one of the main reasons we don't drive anymore is because of dissociation. We dissociated after work and had a crash, our car was wrecked but luckily the body was okay and no one else was involved, but it was very scary, and now we are too scared to drive again. Not saying that people with OSDD or DID can't drive, but it has definitely affected my experiences with it and has made me lose confidence/feelings of safety.
Edit - I no longer have a car and prefer to walk/bus everywhere.
We've never had any accidents as a did system. Our parts that know how to drive get grounded really strongly while driving so it's not a big deal.
We're an OSDD-1b system and a professional driver for a living. While we do experience dissociation during driving every now and then, we're able to maintain instinctive, muscle-memory-level control at minimum, almost like being on autopilot. Also our protector makes sure our little doesn't take front during that time.

We’ve known about the system for 5 years now! But even then, we’re still... not there. There’s at least 3-4 more alters we’ve identified that exist, but they haven’t told us their names yet! It’s always a continuous journey :)
@@TheRingsSystem so glad to know that it's normal to not know all your alters personal details (atleast helps me feel that I'm not making it all up)
I am very curious about how the alters come up with or know their names? Like, was it their favourite name at the time of when they were formed or did the main protector name them in order to tell them apart easier? idk, would be fun to know :) (and I realize it might be different for everyone)
I'm thinking we might make a video on this! :)

Thank you for sharing. Your videos are always wonderful, I know this comment is late but I just found this video. I've been diagnosed with DID but think it may be OSDD. You help so much and aren't as dramatic as some of the other UA-camrs. I really appreciate that. Keep it up ;)
