Lagos Blueline Rail Project (Phase 2) Construction Update

- In this video, I will taking you guys to Lagos-Badagry Expressway from Iyana-Iba to Mile 2 to see the clean up done on the BRT / Blue line Rail corridor. We will also be looking at the ongoing construction of the second phase of the Lagos Blueline Rail that will start from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko on the Lagos Badagry Expressway.
The Blue Line is an electric rapid transit line that runs in Lagos, Nigeria. It is part of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit system run by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA)
The first phase with five stations and 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) of track opened on 4 September 2023 with the Governor of Lagos State as the first passenger to board.
The full line is set to be 27 kilometres (17 mi) and is expected to carry 500,000 passengers a day.
LAMATA has proposed seven lines in the Lagos network; Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Purple, Brown and Orange. The first phase of the Blueline is the first to be completed while construction is ongoing on the second phase. Also the first Phase of the redline is almost completed and it’s scheduled to start operations in first quarter of 2024.

There’s a standard of governance in Lagos that is not matched in Africa. I think every single governor that comes in just sets the bar and higher and none of them just wants to disappoint. It’s more of a pride thing at this point and we love it. I hope Lagos has a governor that’s just going to do the impossible and just blow the roof in Lagos. Lagos needs to continue on this path.

Why is this railline not extended to Badagary.
It might eventually be reviewed and extend to Badagry.
Federal government is supposed to do that but the fed hasn't started their own part of the job at all meanwhile Lagos government is tiding up it's project

Iyana-Iba means pathway to Iba town. Breaking it down for you, Iyana literally means pathway and Iba is the name of the town which hosts Iba Housing Estate
