This particular medication, oxymetazoline hydrochloride, is a treatment for low lying eyelids, or acquired ptosis. This is a little different than hooded lids. Low lying lids, which can happen later in life, is when the muscles in the eyelids stretch, results in the eyelids drooping, and lying lower, causing some obstruction in vision. Other things that may improve low lying lids are regularly putting either cucumbers slices, or chamomile tea bags soaked in cold water, over the eyes for twenty minutes, washing the eyes with very cold water, applying lotion to the eye area, or adding more grapes to one's diet (their high resveratrol can slow certain cellular aging processes responsible). Depending on the severity, medical intervention may actually be necessary, Sherrey💕
My eyes started getting hooded when I was about 49, so I decided to have a blepharoplasty done. If I remember right, it cost about $2600. Personally I think it was worth every penny. I’m almost 65, and my eyes still look good, no hoods yet.
Monique, I believe hooded eyes happen with gravity. As we age everything goes down, except cholesterol, sugar, and high blood pressure. LOL! Now, these med is for Ptosis of the eye. That involves the eyelid only. My husband´s Ptosis is so advanced I can hardly see his blue eyes anymore. You don´t need this med. Your eyes are beautiful!
Thank you for bringing this product to our attention!! I have found, if I pull my lower lid down, this creates a small well, where I squeeze a drop of liquid into, then close my eye. I found this to be quick and easy! Perhaps this will help someone who has difficulty with eye drops. 💕😊
mmm? Like others have commented, this is not for hooded eyes, it is for weak upper eyelids. There is no way an eye drop can fix a hooded eye, the skin under your eye brow. I would think only surgery could fix that.
My methods are ice cubes in the sink, and cellulite cream which I keep in the fridge, with other face skin firming and eye tightening lotions! All temp fixes but using all together after ice splashing and with a 5 min of the NuFace, I look more awake and bright eyed. I also use mashed up raw potato and cucumber and make small poultice type pads with gauze, and keep those in the fridge too. All cold stuff is good for waking up and firming up! I draw the line a freezing cold shower but a quick blast of cool water at the end of a shower tightens up too
@@doctorbeauty2111 I have the NuFace trinity but I only have one attachment, the one it comes with, the two ball one. I later bought the LED red light part and it cracked within hours. Look up many reviews on that, the surface cracks on the LED. I got a refund for that part. The NuFace makes a difference to my lower face, I feel and see less jowly jaw and marionettes lines and there’s a smaller difference around my hooded eye lids but still a lift. For the best result for me, is my lower face and by using it often. I sit and watch Netflix while doing it! I use it before getting ready to go out too. Mine was about £300 which is about $340, and it’s been working fine for two yrs. i use any conducting gel
They have the laser skin tightening, and the laser for broken capillaries. I heard it was non invasive low down time super effective and doesn't require incisions or being put under....I'm getting older and was looking into the process for the same reasons for my eyes. I'm going in July my mom had hers done this month and it's fabulous...they even tightened the skin towards my mom's temples and she has a instant face lift that looks so natural. She going back for under her chin and neck next...
I love the color of your eyes so pretty. I don't see a difference. Darn ! I was hoping it would work. Hooded eyes that people are born with are so different than age hooded eyes so not the same thing. The skin gets so loose and can cause you not to be able to see. I recently got a RX for the Upneeq. I applied it and within 15 minutes I noticed my eyes looking a little bigger, the whites were whiter and it feels very soothing..I only use it 5 days a week when working or going out..this will not lift the hooding on the orbital area but opens your eyes.. this Rx was not available in my area but found a pharmacy in New Jersey. You don't have hooded eyes!!! You have eyelids and a crease! A Lifetime movie!! That is so great Will it be on again? I'm just seeing this on June 8th. I did research this product - and it works on the muscle that holds the eyelid up for people who have a problem called ptosis - which is the actual lid drooping. The "hoods' of aging are caused by loose/excess skin of the upper eye area hanging down to cover the lid and sometimes even the eye. I can see that your lid is perfect.. and you even have one, which is why it didn't do much for you. I wouldn't expect it to do much for women with bad hooded lids from aging, b/c it can't pull up loose skin.
@@karinbernhardt8747 Glad it helped! I was surprised when I noticed this product being promoted on you tube for the hooded eyes of aging which are caused by the above. This product was not even designed for that, and as I said; works on the muscle as in actual ptosis of the lid - a different problem. I imagine someone who didn't understand this thought thought if it helped that kind of eye 'droop' it would help the hooded eyes, and then rumors seem to spread around cyberspace :) . I know it is on the pricey side, and I hate to see people throwing their money away on something that is very unlikely to help. I know I hate that!

Monique, how do they expect eye drops to lift your lids? From the way you were speaking, I believe you were hoping the eyes would look more wide open. That scares me, because it sounds like it paralyzes the lids for that time freezing it open. That would cause huge problems with dry eye, and possible blindness from the chemical in the drops. You only need one drop. Close your eye and roll your eyes around. No need to use the amount that you used or to sit there for one minute. It can work in as little as five minutes, or take up to two hours, depending on the strength of the muscle in your eye.
