    My Mom's eyes were very hooded. When she turned 65 she was eligible for Medicare to cover the cost of surgery. She looked like she got beat up by Mike Tyson (Post surgery). When she finally healed, She LOVED it, she said for the first time in her life she had periphery vision. IMPO, she didn't look the same, of course, but I had grown up seeing her one way & that surgery Totally changed the way she looked. I don't think she cared, afterwards she got her (non existent) eyebrows tattooed on & then she REALLY looked different! She passed away way to early (at 70). It's been almost 6 years & I miss her every day.

    I’ve used these eyelid tapes going on 5 years. I started with the big ones then graduated to the smaller ones. It has now changed the shape of my eyelid where they are no longer hooded! It sure beats surgery. Thanks for the video I look forward to them.

    Thank you for demonstrating how to apply these. I've bought & practiced with 2 different brands, and I usually can't seem to get them in the right place on my eyelid. The couple times I was successful, you could see them under the eye shadow, both matte and shimmer. I'll still practice, because I'm a performer and from far away you can't see the tapes (onstage). But if I'm going to be sweating outdoors or talking to people close up, I'll skip them. I appreciate all your hooded droopy eye tips!

    Hi Nisha...I used to wear those eyelid tapes all the time. Then I had a brow lift that didn’t cost me anything because my hooded eyelids were blocking my peripheral vision. The brow lift didn’t lift my eyelids enough so he did an additional eyelid lift. I’m so happy with it 😊

      The eyelid lift is done in the office…easy peasy. He numbed my lids with lidocaine and cut and removed skin and stitched it. I didn’t have any pain and had the stitches removed a week later. The brow lift was a 2-3 hour surgery but it didn’t lift my eyelids enough so after a three month healing time he did the eyelid lift. I love it 🥰

    Hi Nisha, You do such a fantastic job of using eye shadow and your techniques on hooded eyes that I really don't think you need eyelid tape. Although the tape is not really conspicuous, you can still see it and I think it takes away from how beautifully you use the colour and shading techniques on your eyes. It was a really great demo - very interesting. Thank you!

    Thank you for this. I've been wondering about these. 💕 I feel like you definitely have to get the placement right the first time, especially if you have powder on. When you pull it up to reposition it you're going to pick up that powder and then the tape will lose its stickiness.

    Your review was very good, it's nice to see that things do not always go right first time as often these make up people on you tube do the make up etc and when I do it, it doesn't go right, and as you had to rearrange it a few times it really shows me what to do if it doesn't look right. Nice to also see someone with hooded eyes give a review 👍🏻

    They definitely work, Nisha. It may seem subtle, but that little bit of extra lid space really opens your eyes and brightens your whole face.
    I also have very hooded eyes and am definitely going to purchase some eyelid tape so that I can wear winged liner occasionally. I’ve always wanted to because it’s such a classic look!

  • @SarahG0711
    @SarahG0711 Рік тому +22

    I have a suggestion to disguise the tape. Before you put your eyeshadow on use a eyeshadow primer (I suggest a cream vs a liquid.) And always set it with your powder (a translucent powder won't affect color of shadow). As with the rest of your face you don't want it to feel tacky. Then apply your eyeshadow. I think matte will always cover better but if you really want to use shimmers, metallics, glitters ect using the primer will cover that tape better. It's like setting down primer before paint. I hope this helps. I just recently discovered that life has caught up to me and I have a bad case of hooded eyelids.😒

    Good morning Nisha! I thought the application process did quite well but I also agree that it wasn't a dramatic difference. But I would imagine you wouldn't want it too dramatic because then you would look totally different, I'm just guessing. And as far as them being invisible, had you not brought our attention to them, I doubt anyone would notice. And besides, if somebody feels the need to get that close to you to see what your eyelids look like, I would feel kind of funny about somebody trying to get that close to me. Lol. But overall, for the price, the benefits were very nice. But the way you apply your makeup on your eyes, which already is beautiful for your eyeshape, you really don't need them. And that's just my 2 cents! Either way you look lovely!

    The double sided ones are quite good. They glue your skin together so the tape is completely hidden. Yes, very fiddly, but great for special occasions!

      @@maryduff8831 Yes, they're sticky on both sides, so it essentially glues your skin together, making the tape is completely hidden.

    Thank you for investigating this option for us! I think it did make a lovely lift which gave you more mobile lid. The price is good for the benefit, but I have not conquered daily lashes because of time and patience. I do think practice makes progress so I’m gonna give it a try. My 90 year old Mom had to have a medical eye lift because of the droopy lids, which I inherited!!! She was so embarrassed to have beautiful eyes at 90 thinking it vain! For her, it was a medical necessity as her field of vision was so narrow due to heavy lids! I have already had the discussion with my eye dr and he is documenting the issue as I will pursue this surgery at the correct time! ❤️💜

    Amazing how much it lifts the lid however I don’t think I would have the patience to apply these.

    Very nice demo. Thank you. I haven't read every comment but wondering if you put them on before you prime your eyelids if they would not be shiny. Would love to see a tiny wing after applying these. As long as nothing breaks or gets thrown across the room. You're so genuine. Just love your videos.
