    Great idea! One suggestion: those sharp edges of the metal brackets may tear into your vest. Might be a good idea to use a dremel or file to smooth the rough edges before installing. Just a thought. Thanks for the video.

    This is genius. I make my own kydex sheaths and I'm going to modify this idea and make the "fixer brackets" with kydex also! Thanks for the video!

    This is one of gems on UA-cam. I gave you a thumbs up tonight, but I have watched your video a few times in the last couple of years as I have acquired knives and tactical shoulder bags.

    A handy little hack.. Yankee-ingenuity is alive and well!👍
    For me, I got so fed up with the molle attachment issue when it comes to "non-molle grommet stuff", I've long since resorted to alternating para-cord through the grommets with a Nexus cord lock (the strong spring bites in hard) with the appropriate color of cord and lock so I can take it off, re-postion, etc.. If I want extra-insurance, I'll make a knot and THEN cord-lock it, just to keep the cord-lock handy. As a bonus, it cant hurt to have a length of para-cord around too.
    That said, your method, although removable, is a nice semi-permanent solution for positioning things that are likely going to be at home there for the long term. Pushing through foliage and having every damn greedy branch trying to grab and steal your stuff ain't gonna happen with those things lol. I mean, to find you lost an Esee is enough to make a man cry lol.

    You can buy a 1x1 ft. sheet of kydex for under $5. Cut it into strips to fit. put the holes where ever you want them, and not worry about it damaging the MOLLE attachments.

    Good idea but the corners and the edges of that metal will rub and cut your carriers material and webbing over time as you move and use your knife and pistol. I suggest using the thickest kydex like .090 for rear mounting straps or one big mounting plate that screws to the holster and sheath or a mounting plate out of kydex that is formed like safarilands molle attachment plate that would work great and could put a quick attach/detach like safarilands qls on both or even Blackhawks holster to molle plate. Just trying to help you make a best product possible. I hope these ideas helped and even cut down on your time.

      For the front line guy with no money. Turns in his gear after deployment with all the usual wear and tear. If you can afford the Gucci stuff for your personal gear...the options are endless. Thanks for stopping by.

    'Field expedient' would be Just running paracord though and tying it in place. Not the most stable, but I'd think it would work. All the same, this is a kickass idea!

    Ok Bruce, damn good idea there, you just saved me a butt load of money I think, so here’s my question, you make kydex sheaths, I have this knife, it’s a cheap knife, really cheap, but I absolutely love it, it holds and keeps an edge like I’ve never seen, it’s a Camillus titanium, it only cost $9, I want a kydex sheath for it so I can mount it to my plate carrier, the only draw back I see is the handle material is rubber and it does have a bit of give at the blade, one could a sheath be made that will work with that handle and two what would it cost me, and yes I know the sheath would be more than the knife is worth

    Rubber washers instead of the cut hose. They’re at Ace hardware

    Just a dumb question but wouldn’t zip ties be quicker and cheaper? Just a thought.

    Why couldn't you just use the belt loops that come with the holster to attach to the molle loops?

    • @AdamLambpocolypse
      @AdamLambpocolypse 9 років тому

      USFZeus because in most cases, when you're mobile with any speed, it'll shake and become instable.

      +Michael Counas I have a bunch of muti sized wire shrink wrap I picked up at harbor frieght real cheap . That works good but I don't think even the largest onne would fit around these . But I am sure there is a heavy duty shrink wrap out there . Do you know of any industrial use wrap ?
