Former Army here. Thank you for sharing a part of your lives with the rest of us. A lot of friendly banter exist between the Army and Marine Corp, but we are all brothers and we fight for the same cause. Good luck to your Marine and I am grateful for his service to the best damn country in the world!
My brother is currently in bootcamp in San Diego and it has been the hardest emotions to deal with but he will soon graduate as a US Marine in October ! So watching this made me really emotional and excited ! I miss my little brother so much😪💙
Trust me, I still do. After bootcamp they only had 10-day leave, so he's away again and doing more trainings, he'll be back in November. House feels so lonely without my little brother. 😔

My brother just passed his asvab with an 85 and is about to be sent to San Diego. Watching this gave me such emotions & I can’t help but feel so proud of my brother & what he’s about to accomplish. 🙏❤

just got back from bootcamp in san diego 3 days ago. i remember when hotel graduated, i remember seeing them in their dress blues and seeing their families, and i remember thinking to myself “dang, that’s so frickin cool, that’ll me be in one month.”
Oh my! Congratulations! You made it!! ❤ I remember seeing recruits training, crowding and lining up outside with their freshly shaved heads and felt so scared for them in that moment knowing it's gonna be a tough journey that lies ahead. When I first saw my brother that's when I knew my research about the training was not a joke, that he had gone not just some kind of training but a really really hard one. That's why I salute all of you being able to surpass your boot camp training. Enjoy your leave, Marine! 🥳💛

I’ll be goin to San Diego this October, for my little bros graduation can you tell me the do’s and don’t …… do you recommend to rent a car or Uber around?
My son will be leaving for boot camp after he graduates in June of 23.
That's so exciting! I have so much respect for all the marines and all future marines. 💛 What they have to go through and have gone through with all the intense training both physically and mentally, and the after. So much respect for that.

How long after graduation does it take for recruits to return home?
Thank you so much! 🥰 They can go home with their families right after graduation, in which, in our time the ceremony ended at 10:30 AM. Others would get a 10-day break, others would get 2 weeks (if I remembered it correctly) before they would proceed on to their respective MOS trainings.😊
What time are visitorrs allowed in?
I did that back in 1994
what hotel did you stay at ? i need help finding a close one
If I uber to the base, they will have those shuttles available to take you to the correct places?
Yes they are usually at the gate 😊

At what time did you have to be there for both day?
Family day we got there around 8 AM at the depot theater, but earlier the better. Graduation ceremony started at 7:30 AM.
What time did yall drive to get there
Our hotel was just 10 minutes away. If I remembered it correctly, we got there before 6:30
Can parents bring food for their recruit on Family Day?
Hi! In our time, I don't remember bringing food was restricted. 😊
Can you tell me what the requirements were to attend a graduation? Someone I know will be graduating in April and I just want to be prepared.
Hi, as far as I can remember they didn't require anything. They just checked our IDs upon entry :)

East of the Mississippi River you will go to Parris Island, west you will be a Hollywood Marine (San Diego)

@@elijahhoward5758 Worst thing about San Diego is you get to see the airliners taking off from Lindbergh Field every day, wishing you were on one of them. And God help you if you make the mistake of saying so out loud. The best thing about San Diego is that when you finally DO graduate, you finally get to be on one of those planes, and if you sit on the starboard side, you get to see all the guys down there still getting yelled at and wishing they could be on that plane with you.
@@tomterific390 my dad was at mcrd san diego and said his drills used to go “Hey *Recruits name* where you from? Oh Salt Lake Utah? Where that plane right that is taking off to salt lake utah. Yea I bet you were on that plane huh?”
