    Now obviously I haven't dug too deep but every time I've looked for this kind of information it always seems layered and muddled. This is clear, direct and to the point. Very well done man.

    Part of the lure to these more iconic vehicles at least for the US was they were never brought over here. Is there a market in Japan for these cars with the same reverence? Are all these things being sold and exported to other countries or do people in Japan want them just as much as the rest of the world

      Really good question!
      There's no comparison when it comes to the "allure." Even for Japanese fans of cars like the Skyline GT-R, these are cars they would have grown up seeing on the streets often. They're not rare over here at all. And not so many years ago, R32 GT-R's were EXTREMELY attainable for anyone! About $5,000?
      Most Japanese people who own and love these cars today are people who bought them years ago when they were affordable. Not so many would be changing hands in Japan at today's crazy prices.
      I would say the majority of these types of cars are being exported at this point, though there are still passionate enthusiast communities here in Japan for current owners.

    Hey what's your thoughts on the 1997 Toyota century almost 25 years old . Americans will be able to import soon . Do you think the prices will be influenced and raise or are they going to stay cheap ? Im thinking about buying one as a investment. Thoughts?

    • @jitsumotors
      @jitsumotors  2 роки тому

      Great cars!
      I'm always hesitant to speak in absolutes (as if I have a crystal ball...), but they do seem well underpriced right now, don't they? My guess is that they will go up. They are rare, special, and objectively good automobiles, so I can't imagine them ever getting any cheaper than they are right now.
      So, it depends on your definition of the word "investment," but if you're planning to drive and enjoy it for a while and potentially sell it on later...I'd say you're unlikely to lose any money.

      Assuming no accident history, turbocharged, original manual (not swapped from Auto), and relatively low mileage...

      JZX90: around $21,000 USD shipped

    Hi, I like to live by the “if its too good to be true it probably is,” so how come 95-96 Toyota Crowns with nonturbo 1jzs so cheap, even with low mileage and basically mint interiors. Im talking like 4k-6k and tons of them listed. Is it just because nobody wants an automatic nonturbo boat? I feel like they would be more desirable considering rwd with a 1jzge. I totally would import a crown rather than a chaser or mk2 for the value. Am i missing something?

    • @jitsumotors
      @jitsumotors  2 роки тому

      Great question! You're right - they're a great value. Similarly, non-turbo automatic Chasers, Mark II's, and Crestas can also be had for very cheap.
      You're not missing anything! Just supply and demand as always:
      Supply: Lots of them were made, and because they were non-turbo/automatic they weren't targeted by drifters/racers so there are still plenty of clean ones around.
      Demand: As you said, not many people want them because they are looking for a manual transmission and a 1JZ-GTE.

    How much for a Toyota pick up

    • @jitsumotors
      @jitsumotors  2 роки тому

      Depends on many factors - not the least of which is exact model of Toyota pickup. Also year, mileage, condition, engine/transmission type, 4WD/2WD, etc., but if you've got $10,000 USD (shipped) to spend, there will be options.
