HOWDY! Here's my favorite Jeep upgrade in a long time. Thanks for being here and here's a link to the AutoEdits Amazon storefront for all kinds of goodies from my videos... anything you purchase after starting there helps me out... so thanks!!! www.amazon.com/shop/autoedits
I have this. I will admit that I have left my soft top on for the last year or so so didn’t use it. Thinking of putting the hard top on this winter and would use it again. Absolutely love it!!!
really wished mopar would sell the sky one touch as a complete kit. i know its expensive but its a feature that i really wished i had gotten. Unfortunately I don’t see them coming out with a kit even if it was a textured black unpainted one, i think it would sell with its benefits of hard side windows like the hard top and the ability to slide back the top.
Great video again Jason! I wish I could have one for my TJ but oh well. My wife has a JK with a soft top so it's out for her Jeep too. I would love to have something like this , maybe if we go to a hard top on my wife's JK we could do it. Who doesn't like the open air concept I know I do. Have to admit I became a little choked up seeing Pinto on your video , she had the best life with you. Question for ya , how to you remove the browning on your tires? I'm afraid to use certain chemicals on my wheels . I have the same Vision wheels as you but mine are black powder coated . Thanks buddy and catch you on your next video my friend.
I use the superclean like this video ua-cam.com/video/mGrVY6hKToE/v-deo.html It works pretty good to remove al the grime off the tires even when you just doing a normal wash.
Great video Jason, I wonder if it's compatible with some of the aftermarket hard tops that have a removable targa top like Wild Boar, DV8, Patriot Fastbacks etc...? If anyone has tried please chime in.
Agreed, Got one for my 2022 Gladiator, had full factory soft tops and hard tops on my previous 2 jeeps, 04 TJ Rubi, and 2011 JKU Rubi, but when it came to the Gladiator I just wanted something to be able to take on and off easily no need to store a hard top and be able to flip back easily to let some sun in. I've had mine for 2 years and its been great.
I currently have the Trektop. Having the zipper windows saved me when I locked my keys in the Jeep. That can be a good thing and a bad thing when it comes to security.
I have the sunrider installed on my '16 JKU. You will get a lot of wind noise at highway speeds. Jason, do you know of a roof rack that would support a RTT and still allow you to open the sunrider? I can't find one. Have fun with that new sunrider. I do love mine.
Great video. I been wanting to get something like this or a full convertible top for my 2017 JK. Oh and I know that neighborhood. Pass by there all the time😅
My wife and I have that exact top for all the reasons you mentioned we love it and keep it on as long as we can in the NE a perfect addition to the JKU, nice to see you back it’s been awhile
Whoa, sweet Benchmade knife. I have one similar to it. Surprised you are allowed to own an auto knife in California lol. Probably can't carry it on you in public though?
Sorry to be the naysayers here, but I bought myself a Bestop Sunrider for Christmas, 2022. I have a 2017 JKU Sahara and was super excited about the mod. I installed the first time in early Spring, 2023 and it was a hassle, but got it on. Leaked right over my head, I tried loosening things, re-installing, still leaked. Off it came. I tried 4-5 more times after that, different leak each time, last was May of 2024. During a big rainstorm, I found the passenger footwell wet. Could just be me I suppose, but that's my Sunrider experience. Worked great, except in the rain.
That does sound really frustrating. I totally appreciate you sharing your experience and I want other viewers to see this. I'm hoping for a better time 👍
For sure an excellent mod on the Jeep. I’ve had mine for a few years and it has held up great. Even works well with the JCR half rack, although it doesn’t play well with my Roam tent installed on the half rack. You’ll get a lot of buffering starting around 45 MPH.
This is awesome! I didnt even know this existed! I have a roof rack on my hardtop, and sometimes just dont have the room inside the jeep to remove the freedom panel and store them when we are on the road. It looks like it doesn't stick too far back when folded open. I would love one of these! ❤
I started watching you shortly after getting my new 2016 black jeep jku manual transmission Rubicon (sound familiar huh) when you were fitting 37s with no lift on yours. I sadly just got rid of that jeep and watching you work on yours brings back all the memories I've had in that thing. Still in the jeep family with a gladiator Mojave (so I can flat tow my tj) but your jeep being so similar to mine just gives me all the nostalgias
The sun riders are pretty cool. You can tell those fenders have been on there for ten years, they are starting to fade some. I wonder if there is a way to revive powder coating?
The Jeep wave out of the open roof is a flex!! I am still rocking the Halftop and love the Sunrider part of it. My dad liked mine so much and he bought the Sunrider for his 2018 JKU. And....cool tshirt!!
Watched all your videos from the start, i even purchased and installed the B&M short throw shifter and accessories after watching your video. Thanks brother. Miss seeing Pinto. 😢
I just put my SunRider back on my Jeep yesterday! Funny timing. I live in Phoenix so summers are hot! I run my hard top with hot heads headliners during the summer and when the weather gets nicer I rock the SunRider.
Good video install. Had this on my JL now for 3 years up north in canada with cold winter weather and hot summer weather seasons and the Bestop sunrider top has performed and looks like day one when i installed. It's a well engineered must have product.
Awesome video. I also installed one on my JK this year. Easily one of the best upgrades ever. I'd recommend that people purchase the twill version; twill has a lifetime warranty from Bestop vs. 5 years with the diamond. Great to see you still making Jeep videos, Jason! Know that you're inspiring many (such as me) to use your videos to train and inspire my own mods. Thanks for all you do!
Having just taken the hard top and doors off today--probably for the last time this year--that looks like an interesting option. Not sure how it will take a U.P. winter, but maybe a three season top. Good to see the footage of Pinto!
You can't take the freedom panels off sitting at a stop light and enjoy open air for even just a few moments. That's my main point with this. I totally understand that this amount of money can do worlds of good in other aspects of building a rig 👍 I'm fortunate to have been tinkering on this Jeep for 10 years and have it pretty dialed otherwise and can concentrate on the creature comforts.
@@AutoEdits I have the Kargo Master Safari Pro roof rack which is now Metal Cloak's ARS Rocklander rack system so it goes all the way to the front windshield.

Looking forward to the door seal video!
This video brought a tear to my eyes....Pinto I miss your old partner in crime Jason. Didn't mean to be a downer.
Not a downer at all, I miss that puppy and cried when I edited the video but still feel lucky to have had her in my life for 14 years ❤🐕 Thank you.
Pinto was the best she loved her ball and other toys ❤
Nice install dude!
Thanks! I'm digging your 4 Runner project... Do you think you'll do any engine upgrades or keep it stock?
No matter how simple or complex the project, I always enjoy your videos.
I appreciate that!
Good times!
Indeed!
I have this. I will admit that I have left my soft top on for the last year or so so didn’t use it. Thinking of putting the hard top on this winter and would use it again. Absolutely love it!!!
I own this. Absolutely amazing. I haven’t put my hard top on in 2 years So it sits in my garage.

Looks like it's set up to fit the freedom panel gap exactly.

Like hearing this 👍
I currently have the Trektop. Having the zipper windows saved me when I locked my keys in the Jeep. That can be a good thing and a bad thing when it comes to security.
One of the reasons for me going back to hardtop for the moment.

There have been a couple of comments mentioning workable combos. Basically a short rack would work. My old Rhino rack was too long.
Jason you always have great imfomative videos. Looking forward to the doors seals. Awesome job as always 👍
Thanks 👍

ten years...goodness gracious has it really been that long? Well its been a lovely ten years hopefully here is to another ten! o7
I appreciate this comment so much!
Whoa, sweet Benchmade knife. I have one similar to it. Surprised you are allowed to own an auto knife in California lol. Probably can't carry it on you in public though?
It's my favorite since it was a gift from a friend and yeah, it is not legal to carry in CA.
@@AutoEdits yeah I couldn't remember what model I had but so I found the box. It's an AFO II Tanto tip.
i love the bestop sunrider on my 2016 jku.
Yep
great looking jeep! I need the sunrider for sure!
I'm really enjoying it!
I’ve wanted to do this for a long time but I live in Seattle and have read they leak a little.
I'll let you know.
You get so excited over installs like this and I love it!!
Thanks! 🤘
Wow, I can’t believe 10 years have really flown by ! I remember your first JK video
I was just thinking the same thing.
The 37’s on the stock JK was what got me. I must have watched that video several times back then.
It is crazy to think how much has happened!
More like 7 years ago. Just look at the time stamp on those videos

I'll take it through a car wash once I get my door seals replace and maybe I'll shoot some video of that.

40 seconds and i'm fifth place
HA!!! I dig that you're here!
The sun riders are pretty cool. You can tell those fenders have been on there for ten years, they are starting to fade some. I wonder if there is a way to revive powder coating?
Yep, the body armor needs a refresh... thinking of just pulling it off and painting it with that high solids Seymor paint.

You finally got one!!! Best mod I ever made to my JK. Installed mine in 2016 and have experienced zero issues.

Definitely cool. And Definitely convenient. But for 970 bucks? You're smoking crack
I can honestly say I did not smoke crack for this video 😆

I've been happy with how the Twill material held up over the years on my Trektop but I'm just a visitor to "real" weather like you get. 🤣
Hows this on highway?? Sound? Flapping? Rattling???👍
No flapping at 75...
I was just given the sun rider from my buddy that’s trading his diesel rubi in. It’s been fantastic I didn’t think I’d like it as much. 😎
I really missed having it!
I’d rather put the $1000 + tax to other mods. My front two sections come off in about a minute. Not sure of the gains here, perhaps a bit of time.

hey Jason, ya think this would work with a Rhino roof rack in place behind it. i know you had one long time ago?
Howdy, the old Rhino rack I had was to long and wouldn't work with this. The shorter rack would, I've seen a few comments mentioning that.
💯🎯
🤘
I need one thats more accordion like so i can use in under my roof rack. I dont have the clearance to flip that up.
Good point... How far forward does your rack go?
@@AutoEdits I have the Kargo Master Safari Pro roof rack which is now Metal Cloak's ARS Rocklander rack system so it goes all the way to the front windshield.

A younger Pinto

I like mine but it leaks like a mofo
I'm hoping for none!!! 😂
i'd like to see a center console delete
But I use the center console???? You don't?
