This is a brilliant video! Thank you so much for sharing :) I posted on FB on my small town page to see if anyone would be interested in learning macrame. A couple hours later, I had 7 people sign up. I went to bed feeling happy with 7 and in the morning, I had a library and an art school ask if I could teach classes, and over 40 people wanting to join a class!! What?!?! I'm all into the teaching/entertainment section. I LOVE the idea of selling patterns on line! Thank you for your advice!!
Wow, that's awesome!! Sounds like you have a very active and engaged community in your town as well 🙂 Where are you from if I may ask? And good luck with your classes!
I always thought I want to sell my product until I made an Instagram account and started doing reels and other marketing tools. I didn't like it because most of my effort goas to that and not actually doing the Macrame, and many people in my country were interested in watching for entertainment rather than buying. I just gave up few weeks ago on doing Macrame as a business and now after watching your video I am currently reflecting on that decision 😂🙌..
Yep, I had the same experience with Instagram, it was just so much hassle that just didn't feel worth it. But I also have to admit that I think once you learn it to a certain level and you make a routine out of it it probably isn't as time-consuming....
I enjoyed your video. I have an issue with not being able to focus on one specific craft, but I know macrame is the one I enjoy the most. I am trying to get ideas on how to use Instagram and my blog to get the word out. You've really inspired me and I subscribed!
Thank you for all your típs, I am trying to put workshops in practice. I have to organize something atractive. I am a little confuse about how but I will work on it. Maybe you could create a video about that. Ahh your pronunciation is simply adorable to me. 😘
It started around a year back and we are making more and more products to sell.. at a time trying to see in local areas and also trying to understand online marketing.... Still not clear what product to focus more and keep it sustain
@@annabaginova01 thank you i have seen your all videos specially related to macrame and i found lot of tips helpfull. Creation is one part but sales is the biggest thing which has to be understood for any creators... Hell lot of listing and competition in Macrame..
Anna, i just 💘 you & how you inspire me to try something new. Thank You for your teachings. I was just wondering if you can make a video on how much you would charge for a finished piece? Like for example one of your pieces & how much you would charge? For a little & big. Thank You , for all you do for us !!!
Hi Sherene, thank you for the nice comment 😊 I have gotten a few requests to talk more about pricing so that will definitely be one of my future videos 😉
wow!very informative lecture and a great help for me. I usually make macrame leaf big and small.i put it in my story but most of them just appreciate it and few just buy..how can i price those macrame leaf i made? i think it is too expensive for them so they just appreciate it instead of buying bec.when they ask me how much and i will give the price, that's it the exchange of messages will stop..my problem is HOW to price my macrame.thank you!
Thank you 🙂 You ask a very good question, I have already gotten a few of those before so I think I will make another video in the near future on how to price your macrame art. But I can tell you right away that the answer is not so simple...
Very helpful and informative video I learnt so many new things, I always thought artist have only two options which is selling or teaching and that’s it. You definitely opened my eyes so thank you for the great content and looking forward to the next video 👯👏
I have been watching your videos and have learned a lot of good information. I have been practicing macrame for about a year and am wanting to set up a booth during a festival in October. Now I feel more confident and will continue to watch and learn ❤️
I assume the beautiful chandeliers you make can be used safely with actual lighting. Could you please do a short video illustrating how to incorporate the actual light fixture into the chandelier. Thanks so much. Glad to see you got out of the funk you were in. You're so talented!!
Yes, they can and I have gotten a few requests already to talk about the light fixture so I will make sure to do that soon 😉 And thank you for the support!
Thanks for letting me know! I don't always check how many ad breaks is UA-cam putting on and there were definitely too many here, I cut it down to three only...
You mean that you can't get macrame cords in Rwanda? Have you tried the Bobbiny online store or maybe some other international company? Maybe you could also try shops that sell knitting or sewing supplies. The cord doesn't need to be necessarily marketed as macrame cord, you could even get some regular rope from a hardware store and use that in the beginning.
I make macrame jewelry and it's soooo niche that I have no idea who my audience is and I have no one else to compare myself to, especially in my area. I'm struggling to make 1 sale per year. I don't want to be a content creator, I just want to make jewelry. 😫 I may get into a juried craft show and I'm worried I'll just be losing money because my products are time consuming to make and therefore expensive. I of course have a variety of priced items but the cooler pieces with cabochons are much more expensive. I'm just gonna keep making and end up with an inventory that is huge but no one to sell them to 🥲
Well that is a tough one, it is possible that there is a very small target audience for such a specific product and you may not be able to make a living out of it. Or you just haven't discovered the right channels yet to find your customers...In any case best of luck with it!
@debspayne2668 yeah, that's about right. My target audience is boho type people. I got into a craft show and everyone told me how gorgeous my stuff was but no one bought a single thing. So I left being $200 in the hole. I was told by other artists that my work should be shown in art shows now craft shows.

I saw a lot of macramé finished projects at Hobby Lobby today. I use to do macramé in the 80’s as a teenager and loved doing it.
Well maybe it's time to pick up that old hobby again 😊
Getting ready to start my own permanent macrame booth in a huge vendor market and this definitely helped me get started. Thanks!!

I am always so happy to hear that I inspired someone 😊 How is your blog and Instagram going?
Awesome ideas especially for those that want to get into macramé hot and heavy.
Thank you, yes, it's definitely for the entrepreneur souls out here 😄

Yes, me too! I keep adjusting prices afterwards- I just started & am doing markets right now but would love to know how to price, is there a formula?
@@joslo9291 I have already done a video about that, it's right here ua-cam.com/video/l4pd7t760gM/v-deo.html

Excellent tutorial! I guess I still don’t know how to decide how much to charge for macramé that I try to sell. Do you have tips on that? Thanks.
Thank you and yes I do, it is the latest video I published on Friday 😉
