This is like the last day of school when no work is being done and everyone’s having a laugh in the classroom
Only in the UK could you have a civilised roasting among elected officials.
Blackjax137 And long may it continue
devastating just the same. hehe
In Brazil they almost punch each other in the face.
I miss this kind of days tbh
I would not say only in the UK, however in the UK it is quite civilised.
Bercow: This is my easiest day at work ever.
This is like a rap battle but without rapping
Comment made by day
I agree with you
So just a battle?
The raps are in the directors cut
That made me chuckle…
Wow everyone is arguing over brexit whiles these guys are roasting each other
*whilst
10 or 15 minutes of such moments really make me at ease and with great expectation the coming successor !
Well seeing as he left the next day, I think they were just having a bit of fun.
+Sém agree
yeah...
The house of common just became the house of back and forth banter
It always has been.
That's why they have to sit two sword-lengths apart.
Felt like the last day of school.
It's much worse now isn't it.

Glad to see that they all make a day and laugh of it all. You don't realise that once they aren't all focused on politics in a serious sense a large amount of the MPs can get along quite well with each other.
I wonders what the new Kings & Queens of Britain is gonna look like? Probably very black or at least brown. Long flowing unkempt beards. I bet the queen will look great in a hijab.

Hello in 2021
2022...
So glad to come to this almost 6 years later. Politics should be able to have a laugh in times when things can all seem too serious. People often need a reminder to have a laugh and that politicians are normal people who want the best for their country.
They are all mates and go on the piss together in the commons bars. They laugh at us mugs. The blatant corruption of the current government proves this.
Cameron didn’t want what’s best for his country
Hardly just regular people when half of them are from private schools.
@@kamaaljones258 yes he did
@@angied8919 No he didn’t. All he cared about was the millions he had stashed abroad in tax havens. He inflicted austerity on the country which cost 44,000 lives, so to clarify, his austerity measures were so severe they killed 44,000 people.
Inequality rose exponentially under Cameron, we bombed more foreign countries under Cameron and instead of fixing social issues, Cameron exacerbated them and made them worse.
The Dutch version of the house of commons is so boring. This one is so lively and exciting.
not anymore
Pieter it’s because us British play cricket

Unreal banter. American politicians would get demolished in the PMQ's.
Trump would roasted them. Real trump style!
President Bush once said that he is grateful that he doesn’t “have to go into that pit that John Major stands in, nose-to-nose with the opposition, all yelling at each other." I personally believe that many American politicians would not last very long, as there is a very direct method of accountability for every slight mistake you make.

Is this how British politicians debate and argue. What a very merry debate, wish American politicians were more cordial to each other during arguments.
Americans don't have debates they have money and white hair
but at heart, Americans and Brits share much the same values, no denying it

Ben Davidson The same can be said about the British Army and its associates during the Irish Troubles. They committed just as much murder and terrorism against the Irish but at least the IRA often attempted to warn innocent civilians of when a bomb was about to go off whilst the British Army was happy to walk into a bar at random and gun down everyone inside regardless of whether they were IRA members or not.
Both organisations committed horrific acts but if you’re going to label the IRA as terrorists then you have to do the same for Britain or you’re a hypocrite.

Honestly: regardless of how you felt about Mr. Cameron when he was the prime minister, he made a very good point at the end.
Even though I'm not a conservative by nature, I must applaud him for all that he has achieved.
Yeah what the regressive left don't understand is that he has done a lot through this constituency and even if you don't agree with his methods he's got the job he intended to do done.
+Captainwilts yes, he's a moderate conservative and he's done a lot e.g 2/3 reduction of deficit, gay marriage etc but the E.U referendum was a major failure (unfortunately)
Takaya Hemley I think it was a good decision to leave personally but I would't have minded if we stayed either but at least we got a vote he called that vote because he listened to the people and not the corporations.
+Captainwilts yes, he did keep to his pledge for the referendum, which ultimately lead to his fatal demise. Saying that, he committed political suicide to accept the will of the people, a true democratic servant.
And he seems like a nice chap too. The kind you'd have a laugh with at the pub
I don't understand why he didn't stay and navigate his country through the process. Its like he was a hired manager instead of the leader of a nation.
@zipZIP Yes, but he could and should have stayed on if he hadn't gone all in for remain, warning about WW3 and the end of the world if Britain regained her sovereignty. He should have refrained from the nasty campaign and argued the remain case with dignity
His position was untenable. He, like the rest of the onlookers at the time, did not think there was a chance the UK would vote leave. He did the right thing standing down to allow for a new voice. Where he went wrong was including the referendum in his manifesto in the bloody first place

Well actually labour are the corrupt ones. 13 years before David and they fucked up this country so badly. I would rather have a successful corrupt party in charge than a failing socialist party. Socialism has never worked and never will
Maybe U can't...
@DarylBartholomewEAI After WW2 (and during it) both the political class and the common people looked at the living conditions of the country (and includes the effects of the Great Depression) and agreed this needs to end which was why the NHS snd the welfare state was created so that those affected by the past 2 decades would not only be able to recover but also that such a situation would not happen again. However now the question is that is it still viable to do so without causing problems to the personal level of capitalism. Also for your countries Japan and Germany well East Germany is still recovering from being under Soviet rule and Japan, besides having a ridiculous work ethic, has a government that knows Japan and also has a very powerful industry that it benifits from the nature of Japanese history.
You know times are bad when you look back at this and think it wasn't that bad really

This is what political communication under the conditions of pure democracy looks like.

David Cameron is an outstanding orator. Him and Daniel Hannan, I'd say for me, are the best on UK politics. Really important quality to have in a PM/leader. Don't think May will be half as good in this sense, but hopefully we'll be okay and she'll be good overall.

So wholesome. I so wish we could return to this type of politics, where everyone from all parties were unified by the desire to do whatever is possible to benefit the country; and throw in jokes too. This almost feels like the calm before the storm.

And then the future was Brexit, a big downhill slide

What ever you think about Cameron's politics you have to admit he has an enormous amount of wit and charm.
Given how messed up parliament is right now, I have to admit, I rather miss Cameron . Say what you will about the Tory/Lib dem coalition, It was remarkably stable and effective compared to whats going on know.

are you all high? he's literally the worst we have ever had, abject poverty is up, the debt has been doubled, nhs funding slashed, then the nhs being carved up and sold, the sale of twice as many public assests than thatcher, unemployment is down but thats only because the tories are forcing people to work ful ltime jobs to get their job seekers allowance, that's what, 40 hours a week for a hundred quid. Thos was one of the best clip I ever watched from the house of commons depatimg or questioning each other happyly in my life .
A talented politician that this country will mourn the loss of. The standing ovation from all sides of the house should have been forthcoming, especially after the mess he inherited from the other side.
Agreed. I am not conservative in views or given to traditionalism, but I've always felt that Cameron genuinely wanted what was best for his country first and foremost. As much as anything a fine man.
Tend to agree with that. He's only made one real mistake in his whole tenure in my opinion and that was agreeing to this silly referendum. Should have been bolder with his party's eurosceptic rebels - basically should have told them to piss off. I still find it hard that, as you say, a talented politician staked his entire career and legacy on such a massive gamble.

You don't think the massive increase in Britain's debt despite it being the central plank of his entire premiership to reduce it a failure? You don't think leading Britain into a double-dip recession a failure? You don't think attempting to lead Britain into another insane war and being soundly defeated was a failure? You don't think the fact that half of Britain was burning whilst he holidayed in Tuscany a failure? You don't think the fact he had to call in THE ARMY to stop the Olympics being a disaster a failure? I could go on...(and on and on).
Let's try it differently: what on earth do you think this overpirvileged intellectually vacuous pig fucking rectal cyst on the arse of humanity did was successful? Because all that sounds to me like he won the Neville Chamberlain award for worst PM ever.
