    Is there a way to get the plastics out of the way without having to drill out what looks like rivets to remove the clutch?

      @Taylor Anderson are you too much of a soy boy to handle a little. Extra weight

  • @renepage3239
    @renepage3239 6 років тому +1

    Hi I had a look at your video, very good, I do have a suggestion though. Check your fly weight position between the towers. It looked like a weight had shifted to one side. This would cause the clutch to not fully open at idle causing creep. It appears to operate properly without a belt but creep with belt installed. If you do have this issue take is apart and replace the fly weight bolt as it would have substained forces it is not designed to and will break at the dimple in the middle of the bolt. The fly weight is suppose to be dead centre between the towers and a very small allen head screw holds it in this position.

    I dont think cat clutches are junk. I clean them after every ride. Or just inspect them. Got over 7000 miles, no problems. They just like to be clean. I now have a sled with team clutches. I'll continue to do the same.

    • @syxxes
      @syxxes  6 років тому +3

      That's something good to mention. If you are able to keep them clean they should last. But, sometimes it's hard on those 4 day trips to keep them clean after everyday. A lot of dust does get built up in there.

    • @deansikorski6596
      @deansikorski6596 6 років тому +5

      Compressed air, to blow out belt dust is quick and easy. Most people would be surprised how much belt dust there is after one day of riding.

    I feel for ya I've gone through 3 arctic cat clutches on my 2011 m8. I now run a team clutch for a 2016 m8 and so far it work's very well

    • @syxxes
      @syxxes  6 років тому +1

      On those older ones I think the trick is to just keep the things clean.

    • @stevenbanman9947

      I had this same issue on my 15 m8000 it was related to a cracked spider on the primary clutch that would not let the clutch open all the way part that sucks is this year was not a team clutch and had to buy an entire new primary clutch since you can't just buy the spider and replace replace it

  • @Narza85
    @Narza85 5 років тому

    Just bought a used 2015 M8000. about 2000miles on it. Test drove it yesterday and noticed it tried to walk too. And belt started to make some noise after letting it idle. I figured that the belt was too tight but it sits very deep in the secondary, whole belt below the plates... Take it back to the dealer...? Also the ignition key does nothing, u can just drive it without the key if you want... Had brp's before, made me think did I make a mistake... xD

      Usually u should wait on buying a new machine because if you wait, it gives the company time to sell a couple 100 machines and if there were any problems they usually get resolved. My dads buddy bought a sled #82 was the production number it had all sorts of problems. Just saying it’s another good reason to wait a little

    Do you know if you can start a sled without the primary clutch connected to the motor?

    • @syxxes
      @syxxes  2 роки тому +1

      You can. Yes. But. It is going to be a real tough unit to pull over. The clutch acts as a flywheel for the PTO and assists momentum

      With different thickness washers used on the secondary clutch bmp has a bolt that will do this as well but is expensive for a plastic piece

      Pricing out some options right now. Probably just gonna have to end up buying the whole clutch though. Unless I can find a spider kicking around somewhere.
