I’m 39 and just got my first sled 14’ cat xf7000 sno pro with factory installed turbo and 1670 miles, not sure if I’m in over my head being a beginner but I like a challenge so far so good with no problems,, clutching was done to it before I got the sled, when it warms up I’ll learn to work under the hood
Thanks for posting these couple vids about this clutch ....actually just ordered one myself after watching your other video about it..I appreciate the feedback bro
Great video, I have a cv tech clutch in my zr600 it hasn’t been hitting the rpm I was liking, this will definitely help me this season to get more out of it.
I have a zr 600 as well and I will be installing a new cv tech clutch on it too. How do you like it? I’ve had two Arctic cat clutches fail as well, done with that junk!
Hell yea, love your videos ride vlog to shop talk y’all running a nice channel. Hope to be picking this clutch up by the end of an already shit snow season. Keep it up.
@@darreng3734 so far it’s been excellent, almost 2 seasons on it, smooth, quiet and trouble free. I put 1 on my 998 turbo last season and it’s been impressive also far

We have a 2012 AC M8000 snow pro limited. We have seen a couple that say they are for the new 8000. My question is “What is the difference and will the new ones fit the 2012?
Thanks for this video! My dealer only has uncalibrated clutches in stock. The weights i can see in this vid but anyone know which spring would be suitable for -12 m800 ?
You should check the runout on that crank . That is a huge power killer. Anything over 5 thou really will take a toll. This has been an issue with Arctic cat sleds for years.. Even on new sleds but if you have blown a belt etc it can sometimes take a bad hit. I have all my cranks balanced and welded.
I just bought a '14 m8000 and I try to understand what you mean. The crank may have too much radial play from the end where the clutch is? Is it a common problem? And what do you weld exactly...you oversize the crank and fit thinner bearings? I'm new to this wonderfull sport. Thank you
@@syxxes I'm not intending to do it myself :-P I'm trying to figure out the weakness and to understand what how sandych33ks1 fixed it/if it can be fixed for good. If you rebuild the crank to oem specs, is will still fail :-( I thought those suzuki engines were almost bulletproof (for a 2 stroke perspective) Thank you for your input Syxxes.
@@syxxes If you do some research you might be surprised how many do it. It makes a big difference. Those Cat cranks get taken out easy sometimes with a badly blow belt. I had a new factory sled F1000 out of the box out 11 though. It was a pig. I could of warrantied it but I had it balanced n welded. It was night n day. The Ac f7 in the day were the same . The crank run out being over 5 thou draws big power loss. I had a customer on the dyno with a f7 out 20 thou and it wouldn't make 118 hp .Cat warrantied his crank. .
Hey Buddy, Just installed one of these bad boys. Haven't taken it for a serious ride yet but first impression is very positive However, I've notice some clutch rattle. Is that normal?
So what is the size of the nut on the clutch? Currently trying to take mine off but no idea on the size of the big brass nut and you didn’t say in the video.
I have a question about my skidoo it's 2001 mxz 800 121 factory with a 144 summit skid, gears, chain, and a 2 1/4 inch lung on the track and it has a "good" 2002 mxz 800 primary clutch on it ( sorry for being so long and the info my be important) I live about 900 m from sea leve and the engine starting rpm is 3000-3400 Rpm and the clutch engagement is around 3500-4000 rpm now the rpm do lower after ideling for a bit ( warm idle about 1400-2000 rpm )but the main issue is it only revs to about 7500-7800 rpm I heard it's supposed to go to 8250 rpm how can I fix it i think it may be the wrong belt

Is that the stock clutch bolt you used to put the clutch back on the sled?
8050 rpm is where this engine likes to be stock. 8100 max after long pull. Makes its tq at 7850/7900
Quick question, do you use the stock Cat clutch bolt with the PB80, or does it have its own proprietary clutch bolt?

What is the number for this powerbloc 80 that will fit my m800?
for 12-13 (assuming since you said 800 not 8000) it is showing 1100-0311. I cant find it anywhere in stock, if you do please drop a reply.
Thats a sweet looking sled
It's comin together! I keep doin more to it, instead of buying a new one!
how do you know which cvtech clutch to buy for your sled?
My father and I have always measured our weights and sanded them to within .1 gr of each other. Little OCD lol.
They'd come that way in a perfect world!

You'd have to send it to a machine shop to get it welded, it'd be a specialty thing.

does the secondary still have spring rotation adjustments on these? on the older cats it was a quick way to drop or raise a few hundred rpm
You can get a helix that you can clock the spring anyway that you want, otherwise no!
Do the weights need to be put back in the same place you took them out?
Have you weighed both clutches? What’s total clutch weight of the power block 80 vs the stock cat clutch?
Can you provide a link to where you got the clutch from as I am looking into getting one of these for my 15 m8000
Thanks!
Do the springs in these ever go bad or wear?
Can you still wrap a rope around that clutch to start the engine?
You probably can. But you'd need to devise your own tool for it.

The alignment process for this clutch is a little bit different. It actually makes use of a straight edge.
Do you have a part number
if you wanted, instead of pulling the clutch next time, just tip you sled over and change the weights with the clutch on it still
