Rachel, The biggest unexpected "😂problems" make for the most fond memories, it's all about the memory and looking back and reminiscing. When you go on your Scotland trip you will only laugh😊about every thing that didn't go as planned. Q & A When did you learn to knit, and have you ever taken a break from the craft?
I would 100% have cried too. But I will say I LOLed at the peppy Christmas music juxtaposed with b-roll of the busted tired and car jack. Glad to hear you took care of your heart on Sunday :)
Car issues are always tiring! And stopping at four shops, I don’t blame you for being exhausted! I’m glad you took it a little easier on Sunday and listened to yourself 🩷
When I was a youngster (20ish) the car a girlfriend and I were driving from Denver to southern Florida broke down in Mandeville, Louisiana. A lovely man took us to his house where his wife fed us and visited with us while he fixed the car. A great realisation of the goodness of people, so smart of you to take care of yourself!!
Question: does your sock crank include cranking for heels? I am mystified but loving your episodes. You are wonderful!! ❤ Hugs from Northern Virginia!!
That does sound awful 🥺 We can choose how we react (for the most part….lol) but can’t control our emotions. I know I just can’t help feeling upset and overwhelmed over the tiniest things sometimes and it doesn’t make sense. Probably a good thing you had your friend with you so you weren’t alone and it’s nice to hear you made the best out of a very stressful situation!
You can absolutely take time for yourself to recover, don't feel sorry about that ❤ Question for the Q&A: You said you are a teacher... what grade do you teach? I am a 6th grade teacher, so I am curious.
Question: I would love to know more about your sock knitting machine, including the required accessories that are needed if they do not come with the machine? Thank you!
Tootsie is the name of a movie with Dustin Hoffman learning about sexism. Very funny when it came out decades ago. Not sure how it holds up. With the wonderful and dearly missed Teri Garr.
I'm excited to see the finished sea glass! It looks great. I'm glad it brought you some comfort. I do have a question: how is your circular sock machine holding up? I'm wary of machines that rely on a lot of plastic because I worry about them holding up with use/time
Emergency tire situations are so stressful! They definitely require a 3-5 business day recovery. I looked it up. It's true. Ok QA question - where are you originally from, how did you end up where you are, and have any dreams to move anywhere else?
Hi Rachel, I have a question for your Q&A. I think you said you live in Louisiana. Just wondering how you are able to wear so much wool when it's - I think, pretty warm most of the year. I live in PA, and I wish I was further north as the cold months seem to be getting fewer and far between. Love your show!
Dionne is a great lady…I’d know, she’s my sister. Rachel you make me laugh with your adulting escapades. I try and not adult whenever possible. I’m sorry it was a stressful day and glad you took care of yourself 👍🏻.
Hooray for saying FU to adulting and knitting on the couch all day - genuinely one of my fave ways to spend the weekend. Q&A - are you a full time commission knitter/content creator and how do you find that? Related question, what does DJ do for work and are your careers similar or totally different?
I haven’t been here that long, so I do have questions!! How did you and DJ meet? How long have you been together? Are you from Louisiana? (You sound more northern, like Rochester, to me… but who knows? Maybe my ears are broken?) What is your knitting backstory? And please do tell me about how you came to love purple so much. For me it was probably Donny Osmond’s purple socks. But you are too young for that!! Haha. Sorry about the tire stress. You’re right. Adulting is hard. (I had a root canal today. How was your Monday?)
Why is car based adulting the WORST?! Honestly if I had to go to 4 different places, I probably would have seriously considered abandoning my car and starting over with a new one haha Proud of you for surviving that ordeal!
Q&A: I hope this isn't an inappropriate question (!), but I remember a while ago, once of your stories said someone called Kevin (or maybe Keith) was following you, and IYKYK, and there was a lot of love for it, but IDK 😂 Is there a story here you could let us in on?!
Sorry for the car troubles but glad it finally worked out. Love your christmas tree it looks so cute and perfectly decorated. I think I was the (or one of the )ones who said tootsie was offensive to me as a woman. I think its a sign of the times when this was used. I have read Agatha Christie books this year and in one a man calls Miss Marple "his dear pussy", and means that she is his friend. I would hate to be called a pussy nowadays but back then I guess it was ok. Maybe it's the same with tootsie.
So much of language is built around the systems of misogyny and racism, so it’s no surprise that some words/phrases we sometimes think nothing of often have a more insidious meaning!

So true! Thanks for the reminder. I’ll add your question to the list for the Q&A!
Good for you! We all need to listen to that little something that tells us when we need to change gears for our own health and happiness.

It was quite the juxtaposition LOL
I’m proud of you Rachel! Listening to what you need isn’t always easy. Glad all ended well
Thank you!
Adulting sucks so much sometimes! I'm glad you're recovering from the hassle of Saturday.
Thank you!

Oh interesting!
I totally forgot about that movie. I’ve never heard it was about sexism. Yes, Rachel ! Grateful you remained safe ! ☮️🧶💫

I will go over this in the Q&A! Spoiler: this is not my full time job, but one day I’d love for that to be true!

Stop buying coffee out !! Ka ching ......tire money. Just a thought hee hee
People always go for the coffees ... The fastest way to increase your income...is to increase your income. Leave people to their small luxuries
I will never financially recover from that latte.
