Hello everyone! Here's a weird tale by Mary E Wilkins Freeman which I hope you will enjoy. I will be uploading my Postmortem episode on this story (exclusive to channel members and Patreons) later today.
Oh, envious. Someday I too shall belong. For now, I just write little words of inspirational praise & gratitude for your FANtastic productions, your EXCEPTIONALLY BRILLIANT READING, PERFECT PRONUNCIATION, & PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTIONS. Thank you, Jasper, for returning! Until again, 🍾🥂CHEERS! 🍷🧀CHEESE! & 🦪🍸EXQUISITE EXCHANGES! 🎁📚📕📖📮📯📬🪭
This was a wonderful reading of a beautifully eerie tale. I believe the same author penned The Wind in the Rose Bush, which is one of my favorites. Thank you for your work!
Hello Jasper L'Estrange 👋. I hope your Holidays were all fun and festive 😊. You shine, yet again, Monsieur L'Estrange, in your performance of this very weird tale. 👏👏👏👏👏 I have to ask if The Vegetable Man is a possibility for being graced by your lovely creepiness? P L E A S E!!! Much love and big hugs to you and all those you love 😁🤗🤗🤗
Thank you so much, Jasper. I loved this strange tale, and it was a real treat listening to it on a melting hot evening Down Under. You wonderful fellow!
It’s just snowed 6” overnight here in the PNW! Staying cozy & warm! I ❤DETROIT!. 22nd century INFASTRUCTURE EXPANSION to BE HOLD & BE A GAIN FOR SOOO MANY A GAIN! Blessings to you & yours! Cheers!
Always an absolute pleasure delving into a long ago tale with you Jasper. Truly a standout narrator with a gift for bringing realism, life and energy to each character and situation. Thank you!
There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold and she's renting a portal to... Hey Jasper, so grateful that you made time for us, thank you for your subtlety, sonorous, and sumptuous, soundscapes. 💀🗯
I must apologise for falling asleep listening to this last night - I do hope I didn’t offend you Jasper. I’m going to listen again now and I’ll be sure to pay full attention . Thanks 🙏🏻
A nice eerie tale to kick off the new year! I’ve been saving this till I could sit back and really sink in to it. Really enjoyed it! It’s so good to hear your voice again!!! Thank you Jasper! 🐙
Ohh my goodness!!! I just had almost finished writing my comment which was about how firstly, I had read this story before but with you narrating it I was able to visualize the local beautifully. But I also was reminded of the movie "A cure for wellness". As you said it was a horrific movie that could have been great had it not gone off the deep end. It was also the setting and beauty of it that I liked. I just thought how funny it was to hear you say that it also reminded you of the same movie I was typing about at that moment lol. Wonderfully read as usual, honestly I wouldn't have listened had it been anyone else narrating it since I had already read it. I hadn't had such a beautiful picture of the setting in my mind until I listened to you read it. I'd just like to add that it's always been an interest to me, "drinking the waters". I might be young for that to be something that I have had such an interest in but I am aware I can be odd at times 😂 Thank you again for another beautiful reading. I have been enjoying the post mortems as well. Well wishes and happy belated New year
Sorry, just catching up with all my replies. That certainly is funny that you remembered that film too, because (a) the story isn't that similar and (b) for ages I've felt as if I was one of the only people who saw it 😆. What's strange is that, despite being a bit naff, it was very memorable...and I suppose that counts for something. Glad you've been enjoying the stories and everything. Happy very belated New Year to you too!
Period note: 'hall bedroom' is a rooming house term. The better accommodations would include a 'sitting room' adjacent to the hall door. A less expensive and less desirable room would consist of a simple bedroom revealed upon opening the hall door.
Thanks Robert! I wasn't sure how familiar the term is nowadays. I think some of our modern London properties have managed to turn even smaller spaces into rooms 😆
I get joy out of your channel regardless of when stories appear and I always go back to my favorites when I get impatient! Thanks again for returning to us!@@EnCryptedHorror

A little trip through "the hall bedroom " might bring you to Columbus, Ohio. There's a slight chill in the air of 21°F. Wanna trade???😁
Yes, it's not quite as cold as Ohio here, but it would be nice to have a bit of Aussie sunshine. If I set off now, could be there tomorrow morning...😄
Sunny ish Eastbourne, anyone? 😎
Thanks Jasper! What a nice treat on this cold day here in Detroit!🥶

Love your channel Jasper. You are the marvelous master of the macabre. Lord Mountdrago got me hooked. Many thanks from your fan in Saigon.
You're very welcome! It's amazing how far-flung the listenership is. Mountdrago is a great story!
Get to bed now!! Not something I ever hear but did say it to the dog. Jasper is here ❤👻

Robert, I'm sure 80% (or more) of my listeners use my stories to fall asleep to. If it reassures you, I sometimes nod off while I'm mixing them 😪😄

I really liked your blue-haired old biddy voice for the landlady, and your musical segue choice was capital. What was that btw?
