Finally got round to doing this today. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to do the vid. Followed it to the letter and got excellent results. Renewed the door arch rubbers at the same time so all sounding and looking good.
Hey Mike. Super glad to read this. So happy it helped you in anyway possible and also so happy you got some great results. Well done for talking the time and doing a great job. Awesome comment
Jay that was funny 😀😆 with all those van seals round your neck, you really have done a good job on your van, doing it all on your own, all tangled up with the rest of the seals, so much to put away. Stay safe. Jay 🙏🧡🖐
Hey mate. Yes keep yourself safe that’s crucial. Yes I will get back out to explore. Just can’t at the moment with lock down and respecting the NHS I stay home. Hoping to explore so great castles soon
're seals holding water, two options 1, block the holes at the top of the seals where water can get in or 2, make 2/3 tiny drain holes at the bottom of the seal under the doirs doors
Hey mate. Yeah I found the passage on doesn’t hold any as it has draining in all along but my drivers held alittle so I’ve made two holes at the bottom. Fine now. Thank you for comment
Hi guys listened to what you said so left a small gap in trim at bottom of door , omg cant stop listening to my door lol "sounds like a golf " qell chuffed .
Awesome. Yeah I definitely recommend doing that now. The difference is amazing. I have just insulted and sound def my front doors and it’s made them sound even better
Alright Jay, did yours finally squash down? I fitted the driver side today, and you really have to slam the door, els the door open light is on dash, and the door sticks out a bit too. It's Scott Parker BTW of png. 👍🏻
Hey Scott. Mine are probably about the same mate to be honest I don’t think they will sink much at all. I would say by the sounds of it either they are too large or maybe some door adjustments are needed
Hello. Nice video. I Just baught this for my t6. Wondering why you dont put the seal all the way around the door? And, parhaps i am stupid, but in my head, when you start with This seal were you did, the opening is upwards an Will be filled with water. The Same i think Will happen in front were you cut it. I guess this is why all the original seals ar cut at lowest place. Please, Corect me if i am thinking at it wrong.
Hey Terry. Thank you very kind. I worked in a body shop for a small amount of time where I was brought in to rebuild a couple of old cars that had been stripped for years but was only around a 9 month period.
I’ve done this to both doors, passenger door shuts fine with minimal effort but drivers door I gotta give it a good slam for it to shut properly, have you come across this problem? Thank you
Hi Oliver. Mine was slightly similar. I think it’s just maybe the drivers is used more so slightly more worn out but you can adjust the lock slightly so it closes easily but please go off the door lines so you don’t pull it too far out
Hey mate. I can see what they are saying but these have holes in for water channel. But does make sense. So best thing to do to make it water safe. I guess it would only hold the water along the bottom where it’s horizontal. Stop the seal half way along that bottom edge and leave an inch gap then use a small bit and finish the run. This way no water can get trapped.
I hadn’t seen it on forums but that was my thoughts too. I just ran the vertical section and didn’t go across the bottom of the door, for me this gave best of both worlds. No I’ve seen Jay run the seal at the front of the door I’m wondering about run another section down that front corner of the door to help reduce wind noise. It does make a huge difference to the shut of the door and well worth fitting.
Agreed matey. And after the comment I’m thinking of maybe just taking a small section out of the middle. But I will try it and see if I does hold any water at all.
It would be interesting to leave as is and wait until it rains again or been driven in the rain maybe. It doesn’t detract from the fact that seal makes a big difference 👍

Maybe use some silicon to seal the ends. So the bugs wouldn't have bug infestation inside the grommets.

hello nice video. My English is not good. Which door did the seals you applied better on the doors?
Hi mate. To be honest I’m not too shore what you are asking
Interesting Job Jay. Did you ever have a job restoring vehicles?
Hey Terry. Thank you very kind. I worked in a body shop for a small amount of time where I was brought in to rebuild a couple of old cars that had been stripped for years but was only around a 9 month period.

Got exactly same issue, the passenger door is sweet but the driver side needs a real slam and I don’t think I’ll be too happy with it
Hay hay!
How many meters do you reckon you need per door?
Not sure on per door basis to be honest. You can buy them already cut to length

I was going to fit seals to my van, but on some vw forums there saying holds water on sill and door causing rot? Am still in two minds what to do

Definitely mate. When I wash it next I’m going to do some heavy water checking to find out what actually happens and where the water goes or sits
Looking to this on mine! Where did you purchase these? Thanks
If you watch the video mate I clearly explain during it
jamie emblow can you please let me know where you purchased the seals.
Stop saying guys all the time.
