That’s what everyone uses around here for hill climbing. I’m not a hill climber per se more hard enduro and cross country. I put these on my 200 that has no power and lugs are gone after 3rd ride. Three of these in a row did it. 6 days metzler I have now has a dozen rides and zero lugs missing
My Original at81 now shot time for a freshie this w/e Prefer this to the mx34 rear overall? I’m riding similar terrain but with dunes and hard pack / pea gravel thrown in Is the crown of the carcass thinner or thicker than the mx34? Shape of the m5b looks a flatter profile than the mx34 Am on the same steed Cheers in advance
M5B carcass has a softer build than the MX34, it's very sensitive to air pressure for tubes, or Mousse squish. Sidewalls also feel squishy. I run heavy duty 4mm, had it at a higher pressure than I normally run (9 to 10 PSI); lower pressures had it a bit washy in turns. I personally like the performance of the AT82 and MX34 over the M5B, however the M5B crushed the Dunlops for durability. I think it's a pick your battle situation.
I ended up fitting another golden tire GT333 which i ran on my TE before I bought the TX. IRC’s only seem to be available online in Australia Nearly went the mx34 or starcross 6 med/hard but prefer a thinner crown of the tyre for the rocks. Also run 4mm bridgy tube in the back & mousse + GT216 front 110/100 gt333’s are tall and the profile steeper. Sharpened up the handling a little too much. Overall they work but next time maybe the 120
It was a skinny 110/100 - I don't think they had other sizes on sale at the time, which is the only reason I picked it. Definitely felt the skinny-wobble a bit. I think a 120/90 or 130 would feel better, especially with the softy knobs. 🛵
@@podpocalypse9817I just put a ve33s on my rim going to try that pretty soon it's another IRC tire supposed to be a pretty good one maybe you should try it out I love the tire videos
@@mikeaust80 Actually I realized the size I put in my video is a lie 😂. Awkward. It's a 120/80. Can't tell the difference between my 110/100 AT81 in terms of width though.
📝Video correction: I accidentally stated the rear was a 110/100-18 EVO. Apologies, it's a 120/80-18.
Sir thats a goat trail.... Nice riding. Looks like some good old Southern Utah dirt.
M5B on the rear is always a solid choice!

Are you spinning tires or letting them sit in the sun? I've not heard anyone complain about the M5B throwing knobs away.

What gearing do you run on your tx 300?
I've been happy with the stock setup of 14/48
What size rear you go for ? 130/80 very close to the original at81.
Irc not very common here in australia . At82’s not out here yet either

Your size 110/80? They only seem to come in 80 profile. 130/80 = similar to 110/100
