I heard that some riders had tire plugs until it was time for a new tire. I would't take that chance. Yeah storage space would be the reason I wouldn't get 2018 & 19. But I am definitely sticking with the wing. Time for you to go get a new 22-24 lol. Reverse is super helpful. Honda Fanboy...You and me both. Stay Rich.

Ruby would not appreciate being traded prematurely. We have some unfinished business. That trunk is a big deal. I have had plugged tires on my cars and trucks for years but would not try it on a bike again. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.

Rich your garage looks fantastic. Tire plugs are great when you need them and yes they are temporary. Recalls: All one needs do is pick a brand and query recall. You will find a recall for just about all mass produced products. These companies are always going to be at the mercy of it’s suppliers. Relying upon every part to be without failure to build fail proof products down line is a lofty task. Just doesn’t happen without a hiccup. The Honda Manual and DCT trans are both slick and very reliable. So having Gold Wing’s legendary reverse. Tip-over protection on a Gold Wing is insufficient. No question. That and the lack of a colorful high resolution in all lighting conditions TFT screen are my main complaints. But I absolutely love the long haul performance and aesthetics of the Gen 6 Gold Wing Tour. Really do. Would absolutely buy again. I love the classic good looks of Harley Davidson, it’s paint and curb appeal and dealership vibe and network size. But not the long haul distance, drone & fatigue and heat of a V-Twin. Indian and BMW are both great bikes as well. But haven’t been sold on their reliability and sparse dealership network. Honda’s dealership is not robust by any means. I have to hand it to the reliability juggernaut. They do build good stuff. The DCT iFor years they have just make good stuff. Not perfect, but perfect enough for me. Great show as always Rich. Great seeing you back too!

I have a plug in my rear tire... concerned about it.. but only have 4k miles on it. I think I will just carry around spare plugs. My fuel pump was good to go according to the number. I'll take it to the dealer once the parts are in stock. I've purchased the tip-over protection from Max and have a video on all that. Thanks for posting this Rich! Ride Safe.

Do yourself a favor and patch that tire. I did the same. Don't chance it on a tire that reaches 52 PSI on a hot day, riding around 70 MPH. I feel a lot better now and no issues.

I have used plugs for long duration before but sitting on a Florida highway on a above 90 degree day definitely resulted in failure. I don’t think a lot of shops will plug motorcycle tires anymore. That’s a DIYS repair. I will learn to do my own. I am in a high construction area, can’t keep buying new tire every time. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Great video, bro. I have been on 2 wheels for 35 years, owning almost everything, NO HD for me. Having said that, the best bike for me EVER!!! Perfect? NOOO, but close to it, for me. Honda has plenty work to improve next models, for sure. Will see what 25-26 will bring out. This machine runs perfect and so damn comfortable and I am 6'4"/205 lbs. Love the Sport Mode and use Touring almost daily. The infotainment is horrendous. Honda, learn from Indian and BMW. A small tip for you, go and order a new windscreen from 7Jurock. You will thank me.

Thanks much and thanks for the windshield tip. My nephew recently got in touch with me to ask what I know about the 25-26. Said he’s waiting. I was told taller folks can’t be comfortable on the GW. You seem to dispel that myth. I will be checking out that Windshield. Thanks for watching and ride safe.

I traded my 19 Wing for a 22 Wing. The 2 man reasons were color, and the trunk. I wasn’t in love with the 22 Navy Blue, coming from a 2007 Wing, the trunk SUCKED. 🤬 Got the Electric Blue 22. LOVE the bigger trunk, LOVE the color.

I absolutely love that color. The trunk is a big deal. If I keep mine I might have to consider the trunk conversion. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Hehe throttle therapy deficiency due to weather, that’s why I’ve probably logged a full..150 miles so far in AK24😂🤪😂
Cheers Mr. Rich…..I’m debating a trade pretty heavy myself, towards a Boat with all this rain lol👊🇺🇸👊

Not a boat! Lol, The ultimate money pit The Goldwing rides between the rain drops. The deficiency of Throttle Therapy is really due to that flat tire.lol. Thanks for watching.Ride safe.

I have a 2018 and frankly, I am afraid to do any of the parking lot practice with it. Drop it and it can cost $1500 to $2000 to have the dealer fix it up again. I know, it happened to me. I watch the videos and the bike isn't made to be tied down in any way. If you drop the cycle you can damage the steering when you use that to help you get it up. If your on a trip and for any reason needed to get it towed in, there is no way without risking a lot of damage to the bike. I have owned 4 of the previous models and loved them. They were built much stronger.

    • @richthereturnrider6737
      @richthereturnrider6737  Місяць тому

I agree with most of that but with tie down brackets installed it can easily be towed. I tow mine on a trailer and can secure it in a half an hour. Can’t disagree with anything else said. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.

What about the ticking noise on the right side? I saw a used one for sale and I has a ticking sound on the right side. The other one I saw is completely quiet engine.

Not recommended to plug a motorcycle tire right?!
Great bike I’m sure she cruises great! That big Flat 6 must be fun!

The plugs according to the experts are for getting you to your location. Emergency purposes only. Having the tire patch is a preferred choice. The problem is finding a shop that would plug a tire.

Rich I have a 2019 as well got it used demo bike. It 250miles when I purchased it now has 63k. It’s not perfect but it is highly capable and a joy to ride. Traxxion has helped me out with couple issues with the manual GoldWing Tour (heel to shifter and 1 1/2 inch trunk relocation). Russell Day long got me a few more hours in the seat department and Heilli bars help to round out the comfort on the wing. Question have you hand any issues with you shifting not indicating properly? At times mine indicate that I’m in the wrong gear but I’m actually not.

Sound like you have that baby pretty dialed in. Yeah haven’t had no problem with the shift indicator being in the wrong gear. I might install Heli Bars just for adjustability. The wing is quite comfortable for me. Just wish I had the bigger trunk. Thanks for watching.
