Today I'd like to show you a surprise fashion photography challenge i filmed with a fellow fashion Photographer Alex Hutchinson and stylist Courtney Smith.
We wanted to show how each photographer will interpret this same brief differently because of their vision.

About Me: My name is Anita Sadowska, Im a 24 year old professional fashion photographer based in Dublin, Ireland. On my channel I will be uploading regular photography tips & tricks, Fashion shoot behind the scenes and loads of photoshop and lightroom retouching and editing tutorials.
You could never do this if the model was bad. She's amazing! Loved all the shots
I love this challenge concept, not only because of the way the photographers style came through but because of the different styling with the same item of clothing. Please make more!

These sort of challenges have become pretty popular lately, though they always have some ridiculous time constraint or limitation that means the images only really represent what the competing photographers are able to accomplish when in a panic rush. (Which isn't likely reflective of either of their true styles) I'd love to see people start doing them where it is like: "Shoot it how you would normally shoot it with all the resources you would normally use" and compare to another photog doing the same.
That said, great job of the photos! They look amazing. Also the model is amazing, she was giving them really tremendous variety and interesting expression and poses with very little direction. She deserves a lot of respect as images of this quality would have been impossible witha less talented model.
Ryan Cooper The time constraint is purely to make the video a bit more fun and entertaining for UA-cam. I’m sure you can appreciate that.
Both Anita and Alex do amazing work every month for brands. This is just a bit of fun.
Also Thalia is one of the top models here in Ireland. So that helps :-)
But I like the idea of another challenge. 1 model, Same styling, But free reign over the studio and as much time to get 1 amazing photo... I’ll put that on the list.
Naturally, thats likely why it got started. (Its also why Kobeissi who I think started this whole trend? Has started adding more and more arbitrary restrictions) Though for me, I find it less interesting because it becomes less and less education and more and more like reality TV.
Ryan Cooper It’s one of those things that needs to be done once in a while. As Jessica and Anita are creating more and more content. They have to mix things up a bit and have a variation of content.
Some educational and some more entertaining.
The entertaining stuff will help grow the channels and help support them.
Absolutely. :) And I don't mean this as an attack on the format or anything. Its more meant as just me wanting to communicate what myself, as an audience, would be most interested in watching. :)

funny enough 5 minutes doesn't seem like a lot, but its actually plenty once you know what shot you'd like.
i will be thinking of more cool challenges so ill see what i can come up with anyway :)
Hi Anita I love what you’re doing with your videos in terms of the production quality and the little things you add like the graphics. This was a great challenge because the view points where quite different and how you showcased the clothes. The last two rounds I would say go to you because of the way you highlighted the clothing the natural movement of the fabrics and colors you brought out of the image. Great series. Loved it 😍

This was a great challenge. I have seen other people do challenges but this one is better than the most. I am not sure why. Maybe because a thord person was in charge and the photographers had no idea what was coming. That is what made it more fun. A blind challenge.

Really loved this video. Seen a lot of these challenges but this one is unique and interesting to watch! Both photographers are great and the model adjusts great to the character she was given, and having a stylist to slightly change things about the outfit made me think a bit. Super enjoyed the video ❤️

Well the fun is here my photography comparing to those photographers is that my style is a little of both styles or in between. So i liked them both very very much! 😁😁

What I found very interesting is that as much as I liked Anita's images a bit more, I preferred how the model looked at 35mm. Kudos to Thalia!

it's a possibility!
The real question is, would either of you put these shots in your portfolio. I find these type of exercises very useful because as a part time photographer, the less your using your camera, the less polished you are.

stevendelliott I would use one of the images in my portfolio. During the winter in Ireland you have to get 14 outfits shot in less than 5 hours.(all natural light) Working under pressure is part of the business
yeah, agree with what Alex said.
and yeah, i'd probably use one or two images. however i am always very selective with my work, and only about 40% of what i shoot ends up in my portfolio.

Did Canon killed Nikon in color or was that a decision of who edit the photos?
Juan Lopez They edited their own photos. So it’s personal taste and style
If you have a professional model they'll make pretty much any level of photographer look good. Use an amateur model or someone who has never modeled before and then see how it turns out.

Is it just me or isn’t the stylist a bit aggressive towards the guy in the challenge?? He should have been more excited at the beginning Lolol poor kid. However, with that being said I really lean towards Anita’s work because of her choice in colors and mood. My kind of work :)
I struggle to find any meaning in the concept of how you've done this "challenge". You've both had stylists styling your model, how is that representative of your photographic style? Why not do a challenge where your just given a model with a rack of clothes and accessories to choose from, given 5 minutes to choose from the options, 3 minutes to choose your set up and 5 minutes to shoot? I feel the outcome would represent each photographers unique style a whole lot better than having everything done for them and just being told to click the shutter. Sorry to come off strong but this video has taught me nothing ...
