For part of my final project in arts im going to do a few different shoots with one color themed! i love colors and their power in photos, so im just taking inspo from anywhere i can to nail my idea
Really liked when u said you probably wasn't the first who got the idea, so u need to realize it and make it your own! totally what i got in mind. Photography is one of my favorite form of art

I would start by making sure your capture one is up to date. Then I would check in the preferences>capture>providers and make sure the all is selected or at least canon is. Usually when I have seen this happen is when your USB on your computer is not supplying enough power to you camera to keep a solid connection. Ways around this is having a powered USB hub separate from your computer or buy the tether tools speed booster cable. I don't see this a lot with canon cameras but nikons d800 and up are notorious for doing this.

Plus 1 on this likely being a USB power issue! I had the same issue when tethering with a Nikon D810 due to USB power problems. Sometimes it would work and sometimes not. As you mention the fix is to use a USB Power Boost. I blogged about this a while back and it has proven to be one of my most popular posts so it's a common issue :-)

Are you using shine on her face? I notice you tend to oil up all your models quite a bit, but did you do it on this one, as her face is shining? Or was it that hot inside?

Little Tip: if you would like to fill the full camera screen with an upright photo, you can change it in the camera menue (auto rotate option) of your canon.
Then there are no more black borders and you can see the full image on your camera screen.

Thanks Anita for the wonderful video! I have a quick question. I see that you have nice ambient light coming from the windows, so it works nicely as a fill. but, say if you didn't have the windows, how would you ensure the model and background's properly exposed?
Were you tethering into CaptureOne?

About using capture one to tethered here is a video on setting up , Also PHASE ONE ADDED EOS 5D MARK IV SUPPORT TO CAPTURE ONE "9.3" , so make sure its software version 9.3 or up you are using..

make sure you have the latest version of Capture One. For Canon 5D Mark IV you need 9.3 or later. Also, are you using any extensions for your USB cable? Sometimes that kills the signal. What kind of computer are you tethering to?
nevermind, I kept watching and saw your Macbook Pro lol When tethering you should try to use the USB port on the left side, it's the main USB and provides the most power. At least that's what I learned at my Capture One class.... lol

Amazing shoot, as always. With Capture One, did you try shooting with no card in the camera? That usually forces it to connect to the camera if C1 is dropping the tether.

The best tutorials for Phase One's Capture One Pro 10 are on the Capture One Pro channel. I personally prefer the tutorials by Michael Woloszynowicz.

If I may ask, So this is an editorial you organized right? so it's not paid by a client? So you pay model, Stylist, MUA & Hair yourself, and hope to later on, get the editorial published and get your money back? or how does it work? :P
I've started doing tests for model agencies (I actually was one of the people who requested that video you made recently! ;) ) and I was wondering on how to take it to the next step, and how maybe get some money out of it to help the situation... like with paytests for exaple..

Billy Tz hey! Shoots like that are a team effort- it's either all or none get paid. We all do it on test basis and if it gets published- we all get paid - that type of thing :)
