Ah, my beloved Brass Eye, still one of my favourite series ever. I live in hope that one day something similar might appear on British TV again.

@@Problembeing I'm so happy that I'm Gen X, got to watch the best comedy and lived in an era of great music. I don't understand how today's drones have become so sanctimonious and self satisfied, they've created a cultural vacuum.
Rolf Harris was in the Drugs episode…which also features the MP David Amess, who was stabbed to death in his office.
So my very inappropriate and yet completely relevant reaction to David Amess's death is "This is the one thing we DIDN'T want to happen".

Brass Eye (and indeed The Day Today before it) is the best thing that was ever released on MSM TV . Everything Chris Morris has ever done or been invloved with is pure gold imho (and the same goes for the work of Armando Iannucci, who co-produced , directed The Dat Today and many other amazing things after it...check out the show he did called Time Trumpet for example...if you love Brass Eye etc you should love Time Trumpet too.....and also 'The Armando Iannucci Shows' ) ....btw, Chris Morris also did a DJ style musci show on Radio 1 in 1994 called 'The Chris Morris Music Shows' , and it's filled with gold, and some great song choices in between..it's free to download if you look in the right places, and you'll also find many funny clips of it on UA-cam too...Also Chris Morris and Charlie Brooker (Black Mirror creator) also did a crazt sit com called 'Nathan Barley', that's also well worth seeking out..there are 6 episodes)
Loved this! Chris Morris is just in his absolute prime. ‘Drugs’ is the best episode, though it was this one that introduced ‘arse candle’ into my lexicon. Morris’ celebrity pranking in this series is legendary!
This is the one I feel most sympathy for the celebs for: sure, it was a silly scenario and they probably should've realised it wasn't real. But they all meant well. My respect for Paul Daniels et al goes up a bit for trying to help this [unbeknownst to them] fictional elephant.

Paul knew how to trick people. He'd appreciate the joke. Or more likely he'd be cross with it.

We in Britain like to think Americans wouldn't get this show. Taffe316 is a wonderful surprise. We thought the show would need explained. Where's the laugh track? Christopher Morris is a genius.
Brass Eye - worth keeping up my Patreon, for sure, jjust to see your reactions to these A mix of surreal gags and "interviews" with people who were'n't in on it. Carla Lane was an animal rights activist who had NO CLUE that this was a satirical interview! The entire series is full of this mix.

I met Nicholas Parsons at the Rocky Horror Show 25th anniversary party. I was very drunk and I sat next to his lovely wife and in ear shot asked her what she called him in bed, she giggled and said “darling”, he was mortified and huffed lol. Bless ‘im.

Ah I always thought this was a bit mean to Carla Lane cos she is a bit obsessive about the animal rights stuff, but the others were obviously just jumping on the celeb bandwagon and were fair game. I think after Brass eye, Ali G and dennis pennis, most UK celebs wised up a bit, unfortunately :D
